The evening sky bled into a bruised hue of deep violet and crimson as the last of the sun vanished beneath the horizon. Cain stood silently atop the ridge, the wind combing through his dark hair, his eyes locked onto the crumbling ruins ahead. Below, the valley whispered of ancient magic, the kind that twisted air and soul alike. Leo stood beside him, fire crackling at his fingertips as a quiet expression replaced his usual sarcasm. Eren, a few paces behind, exhaled softly—an icy breath in the warm air, always the observer before the storm.

Selene staggered slightly but held her ground. Her powers, newly awakened and fiercely unstable, pulsed with intensity that left cracks in the ground where her feet touched. "I can feel him," she said, her voice soft but full of conviction. "He's waiting."

Cain turned. "You don't have to do this alone."

"I'm not," Selene replied. Her eyes found his, anchoring herself in the one person who had stayed through everything. "I have you. I have all of you."

The brothers gathered. For the first ti in days, they weren't arguing or doubting—they were simply united.

Leo rolled his shoulders, sparks flying from his palms. "Let's give him hell."

Eren's gaze hardened. "No rcy."

The ruins weren't quiet anymore. Shadows peeled away from the stones, twisting and screeching as creatures rose—half-human, half-nightmare. Their father's guards. Silent, loyal, and brutal.

Cain was the first to charge, his body blurring in speed as shadow tendrils whipped around his arms. He moved like a wraith, slicing through the guards with sharp, controlled fury. Leo followed, launching fireballs into the sky that rained down like teorites. The sll of scorched stone filled the air. Eren summoned shards of ice from the ground, impaling anything that moved too fast.

Selene stepped forward, arms outstretched, her energy humming like a star ready to collapse. "I don't want to hurt you," she whispered to the advancing shadow creatures. "But I will if I have to." A burst of white-blue light exploded from her chest, sending a wave of cleansing energy that disintegrated several of the beasts mid-air.

The battlefield roared in chaos, but the siblings moved like pieces of the sa soul—Cain leading, Leo igniting the dark, Eren freezing the chaos, and Selene purifying what remained.

Then, the earth trembled.

The sky split open in a crack of thunder, and their father descended from the veil—tall, cloaked in shadow, his eyes burning with regret and madness.

"My sons," he said, voice low and haunting. "You've co far."

Cain stepped forward. "We ca to end this. No more hiding. No more lies."

Their father's eyes fell on Selene. "And you... the girl. You carry light powerful enough to rip worlds apart. Who are you?"

Selene's breath caught, but Cain took her hand.

"She's ours," he said. "She's family."

Their father's smile cracked unnaturally. "Then let's see how strong your family is."

He raised his hand—and ti itself slowed. The siblings watched as shadow blades arced toward them.

Selene scread.

Light erupted.

Cain and his brothers shielded their eyes as the power surged.

When they opened them again, the battlefield was empty.

Only one thing remained—Selene, collapsed, barely breathing, her pulse flickering like a dying fla.

Cain dropped to his knees, gathering her in his arms. "Stay with ," he whispered, voice cracking. "Please..."

Leo and Eren stood frozen, wounds bleeding, eyes wide.

The sky thundered again.

Their father was gone.

But this wasn't over.

It had just begun.
