"… Hmmm?" Gu Nian turned around.

It was not his imagination.

Looking at the tears brimming in the girl's eyes, Luo Xiu frowned and asked with uncertainty, "Is this because of the scenery or…?"

He gestured her eyes.

Gu Nian finally pulled herself out of her emotions and smiled. "Oh, pardon . I am very sensitive, right?"

Luo Xiu felt a little relieved.

With his intelligence and rationality returning, he arrived at a conclusion in a second or two. "You are one of those highly sensitive type of people?"

Luo Xiu looked up, surprised. "Mr. Luo Xiu is familiar with that as well?"

"Yes. Approximately 20% or so of the population has more developed sensations and would be triggered by external stimuli, good or bad, more so than a normal person. As such, they were more in tune with the environnt and also more compassionate."

Having said that, Luo Xiu waited for a little bit before he added, "That's a plus for your profession."

Gu Nian smiled. "How do you know this so well, Mr. Luo Xiu? Are you one of us as well?"

"No, I am not. I have just co across the topic before."

Luo Xiu hid what was going through his mind.

Truth was, if he must define his own personality, he was probably the exact opposite of the super-sensitive type of people—

Nonchalant, desireless, lack of empathy, and almost no compassion.

He was, however, very good at faking compassion.

Gu Nian, not noticing that, smiled at him. "That's good. As much as it might help with your acting, but I really hope that Mr. Luo Xiu is not a highly-sensitive person."

"Why is that?"

"Because, being in this circle, it is inevitable that you will face the pressure and criticism from the public. It is very easy for highly-sensitive individuals to reach their limit and crumble."

As though recalling sothing, the smile on the girl dimd a little. Like water spread on a canvas, the color paled a little.

She had, nevertheless, recovered quickly. Looking at Luo Xiu with her eyes sparkling, she said, "I hope that Mr. Luo Xiu will never, never has to experience sothing like that. I want to be able to protect you all the way and not like any harm co your way."

"… …"

The cable car had arrived at the top of the mountain.

Gu Nian quickly brought her hands together and closed her eyes. "It was said that if you make a wish when you reach the peak, it will for sure co true. But each person only has one opportunity in a lifeti – we are always there. Get ready, Mr. Luo Xiu!"

"Okay," said Luo Xiu but he neither moved nor closed his eyes.

All he did was looked intensely at the girl in the setting sun without blinking.

Her eyes were closed and she was smiling.

As though she had thought of a very happy and very wonderful wish.

Luo Xiu asked, "What are you wishing for?"

Gu Nian's hands held tightly together and she piously refused to open her eyes. "I want to wish that Mr. Luo Xiu had a happy and fulfilling life."

Luo Xiu sighed, "Didn't you just tell that each person only has one opportunity?"

"Mmmhmm, it's what the town people told ."

"Why didn't you save your wish for yourself then?"

"Because." The girl smiled with her eyes still closed and her palms still together. "I want you to be happy more than anyone else and I also want you to be happier than everyone else."

"… …"

Luo Xiu understood that there were reasons behind everything.

He knew from the very beginning that she had approached him with so sort of intention in mind. He was bored at the ti and walked into her trap. He wanted to see that when all of revealed, what was her real intention.

But now, he no longer wanted to find out.

No matter how many others were attracted by these flowers or whether anyone else have had their palms pierced by the poisonous thorns and collapsed under the flowers before him.

All he wanted was these flowers to beco his.

And belonged only to him.

They had arrived at the peak.

With a chanical noise, the cable car stopped briefly.

Gu Nian's hands were still held closely together and she was still making her wish piously and anxiously.

After a few seconds of silence, she smiled with her eyes closed. "I am done making my wish! What about you, Mr. Luo Xiu?"

"My wish?"

Looking at the clueless girl still with her eyes closed. Her silhouette burned into his brown eyes bit by bit and finally beca the darkest in there.

He looked at her without blinking.

"… … I've found it."
