Gu Nian thought that Luo Xiu did not believe her and felt regretful. "Prec… ahem, Mr. Luo Xiu, you shouldn't be so naïve. Being naïve in this circle will allow others to walk over you. Rember what she had done to you the other day? If she takes over your part of the script, do you think you will let such a good opportunity slip her by?"
Luo Xiu looked at her deeply, "No?"
Gu Nian shook her head firmly. "Of course not!"
Luo Xiu, "What would she do then?"
Gu Nian didn't even think for a second, "For sure she will blackmail you with your role and your amount of screen ti. If you don't do as you are told, she'd decrease your parts or make your character hateful. That way you will have to do what she tells you to!"
Luo Xiu's emotions turned cold. He looked at Gu Nian aningfully for a few seconds before he nodded nonchalantly.
"Okay, I get it."
Gu Nian, "?"
What did her precious son get?
Gu Nian did not get an answer. The worn-out wooden stairs behind them creaked. The person heading up noticed the two of them, looked up, and asked, "Luo Xiu? Why aren't you going upstairs if you are already here?"
Gu Nian turned around and it was Geng Hongyu, the director of Demons.
He had noticed her as well. Frowning, he asked, "And you are?"
Gu Nian's expression faded so. "I am Gu Nian, a mber of the screenwriter team. Director Geng, I'd like to…"
"Let's not talk here." Geng Hongyu interrupted Gu Nian imdiately after her self-introduction. "Let's talk inside of the canteen."
"…alright."
Gu Nian sighed to herself.
She had it figured out. Geng Hongyu was looking for Luo Xiu. What she wasn't sure was whether he was instructed by Zhuo Yixuan to do so. Regardless, now that he had spotted them, they would have to go upstairs with him.
Gu Nian looked over at Luo Xiu, worried.
Director Geng walked past them and, looking up and into Gu Nian's eyes, Luo Xiu asked, "You coming upstairs with us, Miss Gu?"
The worry on Gu Nian's face imdiately turned into determination. She clenched her fists quickly and said decisively, "Yes! Don't worry! I'll protect you!"
Luo Xiu, "?"
Before Luo Xiu could react, the little girl who was barely 1.6 ters in height had already stepped in front of him imposingly, like a cat who had all its hair sticking straight up trying to pretend that she was a tiger instead.
Inside of the temporary canteen.
Zhuo Yixuan was chitchatting with the assistant director. Assistant Director Lin was the first to stand up when he saw Director Geng walking in and Zhuo Yixuan also looked over at them.
After greeting Geng Hongyu, Zhuo Yixuan imdiately looked behind him with anticipation.
Then she noticed a dispirited and an-looking little girl.
And she also looked sowhat familiar.
Zhuo Yixuan was taken aback for a few seconds. Suddenly, figuring out where she had seen her before, she pointed at Gu Nian angrily, "Aren't you the one the other day…"
Gu Nian was ready for that.
She didn't care if Zhuo Yixuan wanted to blurt anything out that would embarrass herself but absolutely no way she'd let rumors of her precious son being taken advantage of to circulate.
As such, before Zhuo Yixuan could get to her point, Gu Nian had already walked up, pulled down the woman's hand that was pointing at her, and shook it perfunctorily.
"Hi, I am Gu Nian from the screenwriter team. It's so nice to et you… Screenwriter Zhou."
The woman went silent for a second.
Her rationality returned and it dawned on her that she couldn't blurt out what had happened the other night. Her faced dropped imdiately.
Geng Hongyu asked dubiously, "You two have t?"
Gu Nian smiled lightly, "Yes, we have t before. What a coincident?"
Zhuo Yixuan stopped herself and didn't say anything.
Geng Hongyu nodded and turned his attention elsewhere. He sat where Assistant Director Lin had indicated to him.
Zhuo Yixuan wanted to pull her hand back.
Before she could do that, Gu Nian's look had already turned languid and quickly let go of her.
Zhuo Yixuan, "……"
This darn little naless screenwriter dared to express her resentnt toward her first?
