"First of all, many within the production team know that it was you who started the rumor. I hope that you will own up to your own action and admit that you've spread untrue rumor for personal reasons and clarify and apologize."

"… …"

i Jiating bit her lips and felt wronged.

Nevertheless, she did, indeed spread the rumor out of spite after because she had failed to seduce him and heard those suggestive words from Lin Xi.

She truly didn't expect for it to blow up the way that it did.

Had Lin Xi not be a noob who was only known withing their group but a popular 1stor 2nd tier star, the outco would have been…

Just the thought of it scared i Jiating.

Not to ntion that this could still potentially blow up in the near future.

It only took i Jiating a few seconds to figure out that clarifying the rumor before it got even worse was her best bet, even for herself.

i Jiating, her fingers twisted together, nodded forcefully. "Okay, I will do that."

"And, one more question." Gu Nian's look beca colder. "I hope you will tell who is behind this?"

"Pardon?"

"You have no qualms or conflicting interest with us. I don't see any reason for you to do this. – As you had said so yourself, you weren't the one who helped it along. I trust you on that one. As such, I would like to know whose idea was it for you to start the rumor?" said Gu Nian.

"Nobody instructed to…"

i Jiating froze for a second.

The second that she looked up, dazed, through the girl's fragile body, she looked over Gu Nian's shoulder and saw the languid man standing a ter or two behind Gu Nian half-leaning against the wall next to the door with his eyes lowered.

As though noticing her look, the fine and thick eyelashes behind the lens lifted up so and a pair of warm but indifferent brown eyes looked straight at her.

The man smiled gently after a little while.

[Perhaps, I was the one who fell for her first?]

The cold and languid voice still to still be ringing next to her ears. It sent a tingle down her spine at the ti but now, the only thing it sent down her spine was chilliness…

He did that on purpose!

He knew it all along. He knew exactly what she would do. Which was why he "slipped" and said those suggestive words to her when she was the only thing within earshot of him!

"Miss i?"

"-- --!"

i Jiating snapped out of it, horrified. When she refocused back onto Gu Nian, Gu Nian was looking at her, baffled. "Why are you looking at like that?"

i Jiating, "It wasn't you that I was looking at! I…"

And her voice ca to an abrupt stop.

Her pupil contracted a little. In that very second, she called how Luo Xiu had been waiting there for them for a while without Gu Nian being aware of that; how he purposefully stood up and pretended he was on his way out and walked behind Gu Nian; and how he asked an obvious question and made Gu Nian walked over to between the two of them.

As such, Gu Nian thought it was her that she was looking at the entire ti. She never suspected that she was looking at the man standing behind her.

i Jiating lowered her head stiffly. She shuddered in this hot sumr day.

***

She thought she had inadvertently beco the person who started the rumor. As it turned out, she had grossly overestimated herself.

She was just a pawn used casually by this man.

She had never t the man before the party. After she had chatted and tried to seduce him for half a night, she had her trapped in his plans.

One that she had no control over whatsoever.

She gathered that he had 1,000 ways to weasel out of it and state that he had nothing to do with it at all. She could beco hysterical but, in the end, the only thing that would co out of it would be her ruining herself.

i Jiating felt unreconciled. But she dared not make another move. She untangle her fingers and her voice beca dispirited. "I apologize, Screenwriter Gu."

"Huh?" Gu Nian was baffled.
