Rebecca’s POV
The vehicle stopped.
I looked up from the floor where they’d thrown . My wrists were raw from the restraints. My throat was hoarse from screaming.
"Get out."
The guard’s voice was cold. Detached. Like I was garbage he was disposing of.
Two sets of hands grabbed . Hauled to my feet. Dragged toward the door.
I tried to fight. Tried to pull away.
Useless.
They were too strong. Too indifferent to my struggles.
The door opened.
Cold air hit my face. Sharp. Biting.
We were at the border.
I could see the marker. A stone pillar with the Blood Crown territory symbol carved into it. Beyond that? Nothing. Just empty wasteland stretching toward the horizon.
"No." The word ca out strangled. "No, you can’t just leave here!"
They didn’t respond.
Just kept dragging forward. Past the marker. Past the boundary. Into the no-man’s-land beyond.
Then they stopped.
Opened their hands.
I hit the ground hard. Gravel bit into my palms. Pain shot through my knees.
"Wait!" I scrambled to my feet. "WAIT!"
But they were already walking back to the vehicle.
I looked down at myself.
The designer dress was gone. Replaced by rough, scratchy fabric. Gray. Shapeless. Prison clothes.
My jewelry was gone too. The diamond earrings. The gold bracelet. The designer watch. All of it stripped away before they’d thrown in the transport.
I touched my hair. Felt the tangles. The ss.
They’d taken my brush. My makeup. My perfu. Everything that made .
Left with nothing but these rags and my bare feet.
"HEY!"
I ran after them. My voice cracking with desperation.
"Where am I supposed to go? What am I supposed to do?"
One guard turned. Looked at with dead eyes.
"Not our problem."
"NOT YOUR PROBLEM?" My voice pitched higher. Hysterical. "You can’t just abandon out here! I’ll die!"
He shrugged.
Actually SHRUGGED.
Like my life ant nothing.
"Our orders were to escort you beyond the border. Make sure you don’t co back." He turned away. "What happens after that? Not our concern."
"But I don’t have food! I don’t have water! I don’t have ANYTHING!"
Another guard laughed. The sound was harsh. Mocking.
"Should’ve thought about that before you tried to murder soone, huh?"
"I’ll DIE out here!" I scread. "Do you understand? I’ll DIE!"
The first guard looked at one last ti.
His expression was completely blank.
"Yeah." He said it casually. Like we were discussing the weather. "The Alpha probably wants exactly that. For you to die alone. Forgotten. Like you never existed at all."
The words hit like a physical blow.
Then they climbed back into the vehicle.
The engine roared to life.
I ran toward them. Pounded my fists against the tal.
"PLEASE! PLEASE DON’T LEAVE !"
The vehicle pulled away.
Dust kicked up. Stung my eyes. Filled my throat.
I chased after it. Screaming. Begging.
But it just kept going.
Getting smaller.
And smaller.
Until it disappeared completely.
I stood there. Staring at the empty road. At the dust settling back to earth.
This couldn’t be happening.
This couldn’t be REAL.
I was Rebecca Silver Fang. I was beautiful. Powerful. Connected. I had everything. Was everything.
And now...
Now I was standing in the middle of nowhere. Wearing prison rags. With nothing.
NO.
No no NO.
This was wrong. All wrong.
I shouldn’t be here. I should be in Kael’s arms. Should be planning our future. Should be Luna.
But SHE had ruined everything.
Aria.
That pathetic, worthless, wolfless NOTHING.
She’d stolen my life. My future. My EVERYTHING.
And Kael...
Kael had chosen her. Had defended her. Had exiled for her.
Rage burned through my chest. Hot and vicious.
They would pay.
Both of them.
Soday. Sohow.
I would make them suffer the way I was suffering now.
I would destroy them both.
But first...
First I had to survive.
I looked around. Really looked.
Wasteland. As far as I could see. Scrubby bushes. Dried grass. Rocks.
Nothing useful.
Nothing HELPFUL.
My stomach growled. Loud. Painful.
I started walking.
What choice did I have?
Standing here wouldn’t help. Wouldn’t change anything.
So I walked.
One foot in front of the other. Over and over.
The sun beat down. rciless. Unforgiving.
My throat got dry. Then drier. Then so parched I could barely swallow.
My feet hurt. The rough ground tearing at my bare soles. Blood leaving dark spots in the dust.
But I kept walking.
Because stopping ant dying.
And I refused to die out here.
Hours passed.
Or maybe days.
Everything blurred together. The pain. The thirst. The endless walking.
I would find a way back. Would claw my way back to power. Would beco strong enough to crush them both.
I would kill Aria. Slowly. Painfully. Make her BEG for rcy before I ended her.
Then I would take Kael’s position. Beco Alpha myself. Rule the territory the way it should be ruled.
The fantasy sustained . Kept moving when my body wanted to collapse.
The leaves kept alive. Barely.
I found insects once. Crawling under a rock. Fat. Protein-rich.
I picked one up. Brought it to my mouth.
Gagged.
Couldn’t do it.
Couldn’t bring myself to eat a BUG.
My body was failing. I could feel it.
The sun was setting when I finally fell.
One mont I was walking. The next the ground was rushing up to et my face.
I hit hard. Tasted blood.
My arms wouldn’t push. My legs wouldn’t bend.
Everything hurt.
Everything was shutting down.
The darkness was winning.
Pulling under.
Then... sothing.
A sound?
Light?
I forced my eyes open. Just a crack.
There.
In the distance.
Moving toward .
Lights.
Getting closer.
Brighter.
Soone was coming.
Help.
