Inside the room were a bed, a desk and a sofa. Guan Xuemin asked Shen Kuangniu to put Shen Yuxi on the bed and then motioned Yang Ming and Shen Kuangniu to sit on the sofa and wait for him.
At this ti, Little Xiang’s girlfriend ca in with a few cups of tea. She gave both Yang Ming and Shen Kuangniu a cup. As for the remaining two cups, one was given to Guan Xuemin. The other cup was set aside seemingly for Shen Yuxi.
“Uncle, shall I go out first?” The girl asked Guan Xuemin for instructions.
Guan Xuemin nodded, “Close the door.”
Upon hearing his instructions, the girl walked out respectfully and closed the door behind her.
Guan Xuemin then proceeded to assess Shen Yuxi. He pricked Shen Yuxi’s leg with several sterilized silver needles then asked Shen Yuxi if she felt anything.
When he saw Shen Yuxi repeatedly shaking her head, Guan Xuemin was a little disappointed. He sighed, “This seems to be a serious case!”
Even though Yang Ming did not originally have much hope that Guan Xuemin could cure Shen Yuxi, he still could not help but feel a little down when he heard Guan Xuemin’s words. “Professor Guan, are you saying that there is no hope at all?”
