Cheng Yuan wasn’t surprised, “I own twenty-five percent of the shares in the Underground Entertainnt City. We plan to trade twenty percent of the shares for enough dication to last three years.”
The reason for keeping the remaining five percent was to have a fallback in case of an ergency at the base, and also to continue acquiring supplies without having to work, thus leading a more comfortable life at the base.
Gu Pan thought for a mont and then nodded, “Deal.” She then retrieved the half bottle left over from the day before from her bag, “This is a gift; you’ll feel more at ease having it on you.”

Cheng Yuan accepted the dicines with a happy face, “Thank you. When will you be free? I can take you to transfer the shares.”
Gu Pan was surprised to hear this and asked curiously, “There are still lawyers now? Or laws?”
Cheng Yuan smiled, “How should I put it? It’s the last bit of respect we businessn have for our status. Even in the apocalypse, we still conduct business according to the law, because only rules ensure longevity, so we still adhere to the pre-apocalyptic business model, which is also a kind of self-restraint.”
Gu Pan understood, “No wonder the Entertainnt City can remain so orderly even in the apocalypse.”
Cheng Yuan said, “I’m keeping five percent of the shares as a last resort for ourselves. I’m giving the rest to you because I trust you can add more value to it. As soon as you can bring the dicine, we can go transfer the shares.”
Gu Pan also felt they were smart for keeping a way out and not having to worry too much. At least for now, it was the best choice for them.
Seeing that it was still early, Lu Ruisheng said to Cheng Yuan, “We’ll go back to get so things and then head over there, okay?”
They wanted to leave earlier as there was a lot to do, and they preferred to get this matter settled quickly. After all, if they were going out for real, they would not go through the Entertainnt City but through the proper procedures at the base. Otherwise, coming back in a truck with containers without a record of leaving would raise suspicions, wouldn’t it?
Cheng Yuan thought for a mont; he had originally planned to go back and inform his business partners, but after hearing about the quail eggs, he let go of his reservations. Previously, Gu Ci had ntioned wanting to bring them in on the investnt, so this turned out to be good news, and he didn’t object, “Okay.” Of course, he was also anxious to get his hands on the dication.

Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng held hands and followed the Cheng couple forward.
The path was consistently low and narrow, with a secured door every few ters. After passing through three such doors, they entered a room.
Arriving there, Gu Pan felt a sense of familiarity; it was sowhat like Gu Ci’s office.
Cheng Yuan invited them to sit down, and Wang Lin poured them tea.
Once seated, Gu Pan said, “We know Gu Ci.”
Cheng Yuan and his wife were surprised by this.
Wang Lin asked, “Are you close?”
Knowing that, one way or another, she was going to et Gu Ci soon, Gu Pan spoke the truth, “We’ve made deals with him before. The quail eggs we exchanged were ours.”
Cheng Yuan looked at them and laughed after a mont, “You really are capable. You have things we can’t get even with money. It seems my transferring the shares to you will be beneficial for the Entertainnt City.”
Gu Pan responded, “You’re even more impressive, managing to build such a large Underground Entertainnt City so close to the base.”
Now Cheng Yuan had nothing to hide, “Before the apocalypse, I ran an import supermarket. My storage facility had generators and was surrounded by an electric fence, and we had our own security team. So after the apocalypse started, we were able to protect our supplies. Later, I ca to the base with a few friends from different industries, but we had too many supplies. It was risky to bring them inside due to the high number of variables, and we feared we wouldn’t be able to safeguard them, so we decided to build an Underground City, leveraging the topography around the base. One of my friends was in construction, so we assembled a team and started building this Underground Entertainnt City, and then this place ca to be.”
After listening, Gu Pan expressed her admiration, “It’s impressive how you managed to carve out such a haven in the apocalypse.”
Wang Lin said, “But the apocalypse is still the apocalypse. My son died trying to save others during their escape because of a foot injury that led to tetanus. We had friends who knew dicine, but without the tetanus dication, what was the use?”
When she ntioned this, she was already very calm, but the desolation in her eyes was ineradicable. Perhaps she spoke of it often, trying to ease her pain through the listening of others, but no matter how many tis she recounted the story, her heart was never able to truly let go.
