Cheng Yang also thought of his own parents, not knowing whether he could still et them.

It then dawned on everyone that they had their own people in the hospital now.

His thought was simple: as long as they were good to his son, they were good people. Therefore, since Li Shukang had helped Lu Ruisheng, he had to save his face; since he was introduced as Lu Ruisheng’s uncle before, he remained so now.
Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng felt deeply moved by Lu Jianguo. He had truly considered everything that was good for them, all from their perspective.
Though Lu Jianguo’s words surprised everyone in the room, these were people seasoned in politics, and they quickly regained their composure.
Soone began to lead the congratulatory remarks, “Congratulations, Old Lu, for finally finding your son.”
As it was a private setting and they were all forr colleagues, they refrained from using official titles outside of work.
Others joined in with their congratulations.
Lu Jianguo, holding onto Lu Ruisheng and Gu Pan, responded by addressing them respectfully as uncles.
