Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Onlookers Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Onlookers As for the matter of family planning supplies, they had all discussed it once again, and everyone agreed to carry a few of these items in the future because they could save lives at critical monts, as well as be exchanged for money or food. Being small and flexible, they were easy to carry and not afraid of water or such.

As dawn approached, everyone finally returned to their own quarters to rest.

Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng, carrying the plan they had written, proceeded to the Inner Circle.

Since the plan wasn’t detailed and was drafted quite casually, with all of it already in Lu Ruisheng’s mind, there was no need to make it deliberately hard to write just to exchange for more materials or anything of that sort; everyone was clear about its value.

When Fu Chenyuan heard that it was the two of them visiting, he quickly had soone invite them inside.

He had chosen what used to be the Lin family’s house, a place Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng were already familiar with.

After entering the house, they found the interior style had been changed to have more of an office vibe.

Once they were seated, Lu Ruisheng handed Fu Chenyuan the plan they had written. After reading it, Fu Chenyuan passed it to a man by his side—a man whose posture and deanor suggested he might have been a soldier once.

After the man finished reading, he whispered a few words in Fu Chenyuan’s ear.

Fu Chenyuan looked at Lu Ruisheng, “You’re all intelligent people. It would just show a lack of brains on my part if I tried to beat around the bush with you. This is a gesture of my sincerity.”

With that, he took out a small leather case from beneath the coffee table, placed it on the table, and opened it, revealing its contents of jade articles, then continued, “These are the earnest money. Give the complete plan, and I will pay you the rest of the reward.”

Truth be told, Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng weren’t knowledgeable about jade, but they could ask Shi Liang’s people for an appraisal. Besides, unless he was foolish, Fu Chenyuan wouldn’t cheat them. Their capabilities were such that demolishing the Inner Circle wouldn’t be a big deal, which is why Fu Chenyuan wouldn’t have sought their help otherwise.

Lu Ruisheng said, “Good, I’m pleased to cooperate.”

In tis like these, there wasn’t much need for extra words. It wasn’t as if this was a long-term partnership, so there was no need for pleasantries.

Afterwards, Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng said their goodbyes and left.

Back ho with the jade, Gu Pan left a few pieces with their neighbors and stored the rest in the Space.

Having gone to bed late, they didn’t wake up until it was almost evening.

They delivered the jade pendants to the three families without saying much, only ntioning that they should carry them as they might be exchanged for food when needed.

That night, it was still Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng guarding the main base while Yuan Jiang and Lin ngng ca over to learn about firearms.

After explaining the principles clearly, Gu Pan led them in practicing inside the house.

Since the guns were equipped with silencers, practicing in the room didn’t risk being heard from outside.

Perhaps it was the apocalyptic environnt forcing people to learn with greater earnestness, Yuan Jiang and Lin ngng were quick learners and managed to shoot quite accurately.

Seeing that they had roughly got the point, Gu Pan let them go back to mull it over on their own.

As she escorted the two out, Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng were about to step out for a look themselves, but as soon as they left the house, they saw Lin Feifei.

Lin Feifei was now as skinny as a stick because neither she nor her father had ever suffered before. So their search for food was slow and they didn’t dare venture into dangerous places. In short, they were barely scraping by.

Old Master Lin didn’t lack sympathy for his children and grandchildren, but since he had prepared to leave, he had to use this thod to quickly help his eldest son’s family grow. He took Yuan Jiang and Lin ngng out to gather a team. If they succeeded, by that ti his eldest son’s family would also learn how to face the apocalypse. Only then could the Lin family save more of its own and have a future.

Otherwise, huddling together like this, they would be without any hope at all. Although he had previously hoarded supplies, they would eventually run out, and they could easily be discovered. He decided to leave first in order to prevent the Lin family from being entirely wiped out in this crisis.

What Gu Pan didn’t know was that Old Master Lin had given all the antique calligraphy and paintings from his secret room to Fu Chenyuan in exchange for their departure.

Of course, Lin Feifei was unaware of any of this. Right now, she simply felt that Lin ngng had stolen Yuan Jiang from her, which was why she didn’t have to go hungry.

She blocked Lin ngng’s path and reached out to slap her face, “Slut, it’s all because of you, you’ve taken everything from .”

But the slap never landed. Lin ngng blocked it, “Lin Feifei, are you sick? You’re starving like this, and you still can’t prioritize? With this ti and energy, why don’t you find sothing to eat instead?”

Gu Pan very much agreed with Lin ngng’s words. Of course, she also admired Lin Feifei for how dramatic she was. Such a talent for storytelling, why wasn’t she writing novels?

Lin Feifei wasn’t exactly a beauty, but her tall, slender, and fair appearance combined with nice clothes made her look quite classy. Now, she was particularly dark and thin, giving her a sowhat frightening appearance.

Her expression was fierce, “Lin ngng, there’s no need for you to lecture . Isn’t it because you were inferior to in everything and always suppressed by that you want to strike back at now? But your dirty tricks will be seen through by Brother Yuan Jiang sooner or later. You’re so eager to throw yourself into his bed; do you think Yuan Jiang will be fooled by you forever…”

“Shut up.” Yuan Jiang’s voice was filled with anger, and then he continued, “Lin Feifei, why do you like to distort others’ thoughts, to define others with your filthy ideas and label them? In the apocalypse, ngng and I just want to survive. We’re completely innocent, so how could you speak of us like that? Do you have anything else to say? If not, please leave. ngng and I have to get back ho. We’ve got things to do.”

Although Old Master Lin stayed at their place, they always locked the main door when coming and going, not wanting Lin Feifei to enter at will and possibly take food, so Lin Feifei could only block their path at the doorway.

She had been waiting at the door for a while and had hurried over when she saw them leaving Gu Pan’s house.

Today, using a stomachache as an excuse, she didn’t go with Lin Ran to look for supplies.

Every ti she saw Yuan Jiang and Lin ngng together, seeing how well-fed they appeared, she was consud by jealousy. Her own family had an arrangent with the Yuan Family for a marriage alliance. If it hadn’t been for Lin ngng’s instigation, Yuan Jiang wouldn’t have left her family. If Yuan Jiang hadn’t left, then her father and Yuan Jiang wouldn’t need to go out scavenging for supplies, and she wouldn’t have to suffer so much, would she?

Plus, Yuan Jiang had always been the one she liked, but now she had to watch him with Lin ngng every day. How could she not feel hatred?

When she heard Yuan Jiang say that he and Lin ngng were pure, her eyes lit up, “Brother Yuan Jiang, I knew it. You still have in your heart. Even if Lin ngng shalessly threw herself at you, you still hold a spot for in your heart.”

Yuan Jiang was in a hurry to practice with his gun and had no ti to waste with her, “Lin Feifei, we had no engagent, and those comnts were just idle talk among our elders. It’s a new era now, marriage is a matter of choice. In the future, I will find soone I like, soone who suits , but it won’t be you. I do not like you, do you understand? I suggest you find so food, or you might starve to death.”

Gu Pan thought that since she was idle, she might as well make good use of her ti. She pulled out a handful of sunflower seeds from her space, gave half to Lu Ruisheng, and began eating and watching the drama unfold.

She agreed with what Yuan Jiang had just said. She found him to be a very clear-headed man, and they hadn’t regretted giving him a favor along with the weapons they sold to him. They both saw his potential and thought it would be good to befriend him.
