Chapter 99—Crystals in hand

"Appraisal." Sli#47 used his skill.

The tree eldritch’s status appeared before his eyes.

[ Status

Na: ???

Race: Sealed Artifact’s Vessel ★★ {Rare}

Class: Nature Overlord {Rare}

Titles: Sealed Artifact’s Puppet, Corrupted Human, Plant Unholy Creature

Level: 117

Tier: 3 ]

’Its level grew...’ Young Sli rembered it had been only level 109 before. ’Looks like it devoured a lot.’

"Demonic Pulse." He started the fight with his most destructive skill.

His right palm erupted with a condensed beam of demonic force.

ZZZ!

The beam tore toward the tree eldritch.

The creature glowed with black energy. Thick vines surged and layered into a barrier around itself.

Crack!

The vines cracked as the beam collided.

The beam tore through the barrier and smashed into the creature’s chest-face.

A gaping hole ford.

The leaf-face glared at him with fury.

Black energy surged violently from its body.

The face in its chest regenerated in an instant as it said, "A sli... powerful. I can get stronger by eating you."

It licked its lips, craving Sli#47’s body.

"Demonic Surge. Demonic Fist."

Sli#47 flashed in and smashed his fist into its leg.

Boom!

The tree took a few steps back from the force. A crater opened in the ground. It responded in kind.

Whip!

Sli dodged the vines, leaping left and right. Seeing him evade so easily, the tree increased the number of vines.

Whip!

When Sli spotted an opening—"Demonic Pulse!"—he fired a beam straight at the chest-face again.

"AHHH! Unholy Flas!"

Black flas erupted from the tree as it raged.

Sli backed away as the flas spread across the area.

"Leaf Storm," it muttered.

Waves of sharp leaves rushed at him as it shook its limbs.

"Double Elental Shield." Sli activated his defensive skill.

Two colorful rectangular barriers ford in front of him, covering his entire front.

Thud! Thud!

The barrier blocked the sharp leaves. Each leaf gouged a small crater into the road.

’They’re powerful...’ Young Sli’s eyes twitched. One leaf could inflict serious damage on him.

"Double Elental Shield." He poured in more mana, expanding the shield around his entire body—no weak spot left.

Whip!

A thick green vine slamd into his barrier from behind.

’I’ll run out of energy if this continues,’ he thought, noticing the black flas finally vanishing.

He closed in while holding the barriers, pouring more demonic force into Demonic Surge for a stronger boost.

"Demonic Fist!"

He smashed its massive leg—staying grounded.

’Leaping into the air might give those vines an advantage,’ he judged.

"Demonic Fist! Demonic Fist!"

In a few monts, he landed multiple punches, smashing the entire leg into pieces.

Thud!

The tree creature started falling, losing support. The tree was huge; it couldn’t respond quickly to the small sli’s rampage.

Sli#47 didn’t waste the advantage.

"Demonic Pulse!"

Both palms erupted—one beam aid at the chest-face, the other at the leaf-face above.

ZZZ!

"Unholy Flas!"

The tree erupted with black flas again, burning the incoming demonic force and rendering Demonic Pulse useless.

Sli backed away, dismissing the beams as the flas almost reached him.

The dark flas vanished.

Black energy surged—healing its destroyed leg again.

----

Thud!

The tree creature finally fell, turned into white ash, and disappeared.

"I’m close to running out of demonic force," Sli#47 muttered, panting.

He’d been repeating the sa cycle: smash its leg, attack with Demonic Pulse, force out Unholy Flas, back away, let it heal—then repeat until it ran out of energy.

He rushed forward to grab the sealed artifact.

A large staff—more than one and a half ters long—appeared. Along with it, a small pouch.

The staff slowly shrank to normal size.

"So this staff beca its backbone," Sli#47 muttered as he picked it up. It was still many tis larger than his body.

"It’s vines... of course," he added, feeling the texture.

Twisted plant-green vines were braided into a staff, with four small human heads sculpted into it—front, back, top, and bottom.

’It’s light,’ he thought, waving it once.

While Sli#47 examined the staff, Vael’s eyes glead.

’Should I steal it?’ Vael wondered. ’I used that power more than once... I can only use it one more ti.’

"Damn sealed artifact creator..." he cursed with fury. "Not only did you reduce my power. You also reduced my energy reserves and energy regeneration."

’Let’s steal them. They’ll be helpful,’ he decided.

Whoosh!

Sli#47 folded his palms—and the staff vanished.

"Damn you, Vael!" Sli#47 roared, whipping his eyes around.

He couldn’t spot the small humanoid creature. If he knew that Vael had fallen into deep sleep, he’d jump in joy.

Ti was running out.

So he grabbed the storage pouch—the lightning party captain’s pouch—and dashed back to the array.

Using his mana, he checked the pouch quickly.

"There are many things..." he muttered. He’d no ti to check the entire pouch as he reached the array in a fraction of a second.

He dumped crystals in front of Elder Sli.

A pile of mana crystals and aura crystals spilled near the array, and Old Sli imdiately started placing them into the circle.

Whoosh!

The array flashed bright silver white, teleporting slis. They had already prepared while Sli#47 fought the tree creature.

Ti passed quickly as group after group vanished.

Young Sli sat down and ditated, refilling demonic force.

"It’s almost done," the multicolored sli muttered. Almost everyone had teleported—Mama Sli, Little Sli, Elder Sli, and only a few remained.

Cow#1, who wanted to flee more than anyone, brought the last group of cattle along with Bull#1.

Just as Elder Sli raised his hand to activate the array—Whoosh!

The purple-haired lad flashed into the sky. His gaze swept the slis before locking onto Sli#47.

’He is different from the demonic sli...I rember,’ He mused doubtfully, "But he seems to be the one," He muttered, as he glanced at the blue thread on sli.

He yanked a black orb from the chain around his neck and pointed it at the young sli.

"Kill him," he ordered the orb, pouring his willpower into it. "Take as much will as you want, just kill him."

The black orb opened its front layer, revealing a purple eye with a crimson iris.

A dark purple light surged from the eye. A purple beam shot forward, aiming at Young Sli.

Young Sli reacted instantly. "Demonic Pulse!" He fired back with his own skill.

Boom!

Both beams collided with full force.
