Chapter 87—Edict of Yesterday!
Wob!
Sli#47 climbed to the second step. A Sli silhouette appeared—then jerked in shock as it glanced around and spotted the current Sli#47.
It scread, "*^^^," the sound collapsing into broken, aningless noise.

’Sa... just stronger.’ Current Sli#47 mused, staring at the roaring sli in front of him.
"What are you trying to say?" he asked, instinct screaming danger.
Then he noticed it—a thin blue thread tied around FutureSelf #2’s upper body, just above the eyes.
He turned to FutureSelf #1 below, who was still screaming at him.
’He also has a blue thread... why?’ he thought, as he found a similar blue thread on FutureSelf #1’s upper section too—just like FutureSelf #2.
"What’s that?" he muttered, confused.
"Hey! Future ... what are you saying?" he yelled, trying to understand.
Both future selves thrust their tiny arms forward—pointing straight at Vael—floating behind current Sli#47.
When the current Sli turned his eyes, Vael slipped aside, just out of reach.
’Damn. They are clearly warning about ...’ The small creature’s eyes twitched.
"They’re irrelevant," Vael said softly, patting current Sli#47, "Let’s move on."
"No. It might be too important... I have to listen to them," current Young Sli rejected.
"&*^^," both future selves kept screaming, still pointing at Vael, who kept dodging their fingers at quick speed.
’I can’t move... I’ll have to change it,’ both future versions mused, trying to move closer to current Sli#47—but they couldn’t.
"Edict of Yesterday."The small humanoid acted before Young Sli could react, right as he almost spotted him when he pivoted.
Current Sli glowed with a transparent white light. The future slis glanced at each other and sighed.
"What’s this?" Sli#47 muttered as he found himself in Mama Sli’s hug.
"I’m your Mama, child," Mama Sli cooed cheerfully, rubbing her soft body on him.
"Vael... is this your doing? Vaellll!" Young Sli yelled as he figured the sealed artifact was using so kind of skill.
But it was no use. He couldn’t control his body.
His body moved on its own—too familiar—while every forgotten emotion flooded back: curiosity, joy, everything he’d felt back then.
Soon, he was killed like he was in the first loop, by the smirking brat.
He felt that long‑lost weakness again. The hate he’d held against that kid, who ruthlessly killed him with a happy smile.
’What’s going on...?’ He couldn’t understand it as he yelled, "Vael... what are you doing?!"
anwhile, Vael watched from the staircase, staring at the current Sli#47, who seed to have fallen asleep.
’He died...?’ Vael was shocked as he witnessed the death through his skill. "How is he alive if he’s dead?"
Then he found Sli#47 in the nothingness, but his vision was blocked for a few seconds—then he found the sli living again, in Mama Sli’s embrace.
’What just happened?’
"That gap... I cannot see it?" His mouth hung open in disbelief. "Even with part of the authority of ti, I couldn’t glimpse into it..."
He wondered what happened in those few seconds between death and the start of a new life.
----
Puk!
He repeated all the loops—from the first loop to the current loops—his emotions raging inside a body that moved on its own. He couldn’t control it; it just did what he had done in the past.
"And that gap..." Vael muttered with curiosity. "Still invisible....those few seconds between each death and revival... I wonder what happened."
Until the tenth loop, young sli had kept yelling at Vael to stop the skill, but the sealed artifact didn’t budge.
He could only close his eyes and relive all the loops inside an uncontrollable, moving, emotional body.
"Hahaha... I didn’t expect that I would find sothing so interesting." The small humanoid creature grinned widely. "He died more than a hundred tis, yet he’s still kicking like normal."
It continued until the current loop—when Young Sli bonded with the sealed artifact and ca to fight the three sealed artifacts.
"He is an otherworlder, and Ti God has blessed him..." Vael understood after watching all the loops. "He’s starting a new tiline after each death."
’He carries the power of the authority of ti.’ Vael smiled broadly. "Hahaha... I will get his power if I take over his soul. Now, not just the body—I want his soul too!"
But Vael turned silent as he glanced at the Sli silhouettes on the different steps.
"I might not succeed this ti, as they are still present," he muttered, finally understanding why they warned sli#47 about him.
"I might have succeeded partially, since they are persistent about warning him."
He felt joyful. ’I can break free from this state if I get his part of ’Authority of ti’.’
ZZZ!
When Sli#47 was close to reaching the current ti, Vael had activated "Bewitching Voice."
"You’re tired," the small humanoid creature whispered, "Aren’t you?" near the current Sli#47’s body, as he finally regained consciousness after reliving everything.
Present Sli, who was about to get furious, had his eyes dimd. "Yes..." he replied.
"Now get power. Take your strongest future self’s power and kill all your enemies," Vael muttered with a cunning smile, his skill still active.
Young Sli recalled all his deaths and the unfair world.
"I’ll break everything that stands in my way," he declared loudly.
The two future selves—and the other future selves on higher steps—wobbled their bodies in disappointnt and sighed.
"What are you waiting for?" Vael yelled, pointing to the upper stairs. "Go! Go ahead and take power from the strongest you can!"
Wob! Wob!
Current Sli#47, furious and grieving the deaths of his and his fellow slis, leaped to higher steps.
He didn’t care to glance at the Sli silhouettes. He only wanted to reach as high as he could and borrow power.
"Why? Why do...slis have to be harvested?" Vael kept whispering near the jumping Sli#47 to keep the montum and not let him recover his emotions.
"Slis can be powerful as well... show them. Use your future self’s power!"
Wob!
"Show that purple human brat what power is," the small guy kept tempting. "He is picking on you because of your powerlessness."
Thud!
Current Sli#47 felt he hit a wall when he tried to leap from the 10th step to the 11th step.
"This is as far as you go," Vael said. ’But how co the steps are still endless?’ He was doubtful as he glanced upward—limitless steps.
’And how did he survive ?’ Vael fell into deep thoughts.
Current Sli#47, unable to control his emotions, glanced at the sli silhouette on the current step.
Futureself stared back at him—sad, knowing, unmoving.
