Chapter 74—Grade 1 True Magic

"I did it!" Sli#47 exclaid with joy.

"Yes... I can sense the demonic power." Elder Sli nodded. "Before we continue, let explain how they are divided. Ordinary magic and aura skills are divided into Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and Mythic. True magic is divided into grades."

"Grades?" Young Sli tilted his body in doubt.

"Yes—grades." Old Sli nodded. "Rember, this isn’t only applicable to true magic, but also to sealed artifacts and a few other things." He continued after a pause, "Grade One is equivalent to Rare. Grade Two is equivalent to Legendary. Grade Three is equivalent to Mythic."

"Any higher?" Young Sli asked. He didn’t find anything above Mythic even while picking traits in the beginning. He wanted to know if there were higher ones.

"Yes, but they are out of both your reach and mine." Elder Sli refused to elaborate and continued sternly, which made Sli#47 fall silent. "Sealed artifacts will have their grades at the beginning, like ’01’—Rare, 02—Legendary, 03—Mythic."

"Wait—the artifact used at the end of the First Great Unholy War was 03—475. Was it a Mythic one?" the multicolored sli questioned with curiosity.

Old Sli glanced at Young Sli with a sharp gaze, then replied, "Yes. It was indeed a Mythic. And Grade 03 sealed artifacts are very dangerous."

"Let’s stop other topics and get to business," he added, his tone turning cold at the end.

"Hm..." Young Sli thought, frustrated. ’I can’t ask any other doubts...’

"First, demonic magic cannot be used infinitely. Mana and aura recover because they are linked to your body. But demonic force is ford only by combining other resources, so if you run out, you have to combine them again. So be careful," Old Sli cautioned Young Sli.

----

"It’s done..." Sli#47 combined all of his mana and aura with a dark magic wisp to form reserves of demonic force.

He was kicked aside by Elder Sli, who said they were done with theory. He wanted him to convert all of his mana and aura into demonic force.

"Status." He opened his status to check the changes.

[ —Status—

....

Titles: ...True Demon {Rare!}

....

Demonic Force: E {New!}

Demonic Power: E {New!} ]

’True demon...’ He understood imdiately. After all, only those who wield demonic magic are actual demons.

"Congrats. Now human scholars would call you an actual demon," Old Sli said, bouncing over—Wob!"Now, can you sense aura and mana?" he asked.

"How can—" Young Sli was about to ask, since he had turned them into the demonic force, but he suddenly sensed a ray of mana and aura regenerating within his body.

"Good. Looks like you sensed them. Mana and aura won’t disappear after getting true magic. They do exist and will continue to exist as the main fundantals," Elder Sli explained playfully, seeing Sli#47 stop in the middle. "You can continue using aura skills and ordinary spells, as you would run out of demonic force quickly using demonic magic."

"Wait..." Young Sli said, and tried to form more demonic force, but—

He felt a jolt of pain as cracks ford across his body. He spat out fluids.

"Stop! You cannot force more, just like mana and aura. There is a limit to the force your body can withstand!" Elder Sli yelled, furious. "Just like mana and aura, it will improve as your body gets stronger, and you have to train it to improve the upper limit!"

’Damn... it hurts... but I’m adapted to this pain,’ Young Sli mused with a wince. He nodded, stopping the fusion of energies.

’So, since mana and aura exist and there are limits to demonic force... classes, races... everything is still important, and demonic force itself depends on them.’ His mind clicked. He had just felt they were useless due to the presence of true magic, but it seed not.

Old Sli then warned, "Rember to always keep a wisp of demonic force, since I won’t always hang around you to provide a wisp of dark magic."

Sli#47 nodded. ’Demonic force is dark magic wisp aura mana... if there isn’t a dark magic wisp, how can demonic force be created...’ He understood.

If a wisp of demonic force remains, he can change mana into a dark magic wisp by using demonic force and regain demonic force reserves.

"Elder, you said human scholars also call monsters demons if they use dark magic. How, since dark magic isn’t true magic?" Sli#47 asked, feeling he needed it clarified.

Old Sli just grinned and replied, "It’s because the dark elent is a superior elent. Dark magic stands above the basic elents, and it’s almost on par with true magic."

"Is it the sa for other superior elents?" Young Sli questioned. ’Other elents like light are as powerful as true magic?’ he wanted to know.

"Yes. Rember, ’on par’ doesn’t an equal. It just ans it can contend—that’s all. In the end, true magic rules..." Elder Sli pressed down on true magic, then continued, "Humans call monsters who use dark and demonic magic ’demons.’ We don’t acknowledge them like that—we call soone a true demon only if they can wield demonic magic."

"True demons..." Sli#47 muttered, he’d gained that title just now.

"I will teach you Grade 1 demonic magic spells: one defense, one control, one healing, one attack, and one boost," Old Sli planned carefully.

The multicolored sli grinned, excited to try it out.

"Let’s start with—" Elder Sli was cut short as Sli#47 decided for himself, "Boost."

He wanted strong speed, defence, and attack, as he rembered that he couldn’t even dodge the tentacle in Ruins City Lunxia.

"Okay... boost magic. Demonic magic: Demonic Surge," Old Sli nodded to himself, satisfied with the choice.

"Demonic Surge..." Young Sli waited patiently.

"It’s similar to Iron Body..." Elder Sli explained the details and the crucial aspects to rember.

"Hmmm..." Sli#47 took a deep breath and focused on demonic force. Just like the Iron Body skill, he surrounded his entire body with it, then slowly focused on his insides and ford a layer over it.

Whoosh!

Boom!

’My speed, strength, endurance....increased by sevenfold,’ he mused as—Boom! Boom!—he broke the sound barrier multiple tis.

"I could go at the speed of sound at just F agility stat, without any boost skill. Now with this... my speed could go up to Mach 15 at my limit." He clicked his tongue at his own power. ’But I’m still a weakling in this world... just how powerful are strong beings, and even... Ti God?’ he wondered.

However, he decided to get stronger than them.

Ding!A new notification flashed in his vision.

[ Ding! You have acquired the skill "Demonic Surge {Grade 1}" Lv.1! ]

’Good... now I just need to grind this skill,’ he mused with a broad smile. Every new power and skill gave him joy.
