Chapter 68—Lightning Sli.
[ Ding! Aura Mastery tiered up to Tier One! ]
[ —Masteries—
—Aura Mastery—
—Tier One—
—Proficiency: 1/100
—Increases the aura skills’ power by 500%
—Increases the efficiency of aura by 5% ]
’Efficiency...’ Sli#47 wondered, then asked Elder Sli, "Elder, what does it an by efficiency?"
Old Sli replied plainly, "When we use aura, we don’t use it properly. Like if Acid Fist requires 10 wisps of aura, we pour in 15 wisps, wasting 5 for the sa level of power."
"Ho... I see," Young Sli nodded.
"And control over aura increases. Very powerful beings whose re presence could destroy a world don’t even harm the grass on the ground while battling....It is because of this. You can control whether your aura damages the area or not..." Old Sli explained.
"I see... so it is the sa with mana mastery?" Sli#47 questioned.
"Yes, it is... and smoke tends to appear when you attack with magic spells, right?" Elder Sli asked playfully with a small smile.
"Yes, it always does," Young Sli replied with a grin, as it had helped him a lot in his battles.
"It is due to lack of control over mana," Old Sli said. "And not only that—with control over reserves, the aftermath of battle can also be controlled."
"It is very helpful then," Sli#47 muttered.
Not only would it take less mana or aura to use skills, but he still rembered the slis almost being blown far away when he fought with Aqua Crocodile.
If he controlled aura and mana, which would let him control the aftermath in the end, it would help him a lot.
’I have to get Mana ditation next and tier up Mana Mastery,’ he decided his next goal after getting Lightning Sli.
"By the way, you can stack masteries for power, but only one will work for energy reduction," Old Sli said without blinking.
"What... yeah... I understand. Energy usage cannot be zero," Young Sli said, clicking his tongue, because he could have turned energy zero after thousands of loops by stacking multiple masteries, but it seed impossible.
Elder Sli explained, seeing Sli#47’s annoyance, "You see, masteries don’t actually reduce energy usage. They make you refined in energy control. When you use a fist skill with Fist Mastery, you automatically use the correct energy requirent involuntarily..."
He gave an example after a pause: "Acid Fist requires 10 wisps. You, who would normally use 15, would only use 14 after getting Fist Mastery; The higher the mastery, the more efficient the control."

’Not bad...’ He praised his own cuteness. He was just the size of a regular sli.
Unlike a regular sli, he had a light-purple body, and he found it sweet, having grown used to seeing adorable blue slis every day.
He wasted no ti and opened the class evolution section.

’Blue Lightning... so it’s blue for all next‑level elents...’ He mused with a wide grin. He could not hold back his laughter. "Hahaha."
The joy of succeeding after more than twenty loops made him insanely happy.
"Lightning Body, Blue Lightning." He used the skill combo that had lived in his mind and kept him going.
ZZZ!
His body transford into an elent of light purple lightning. The next second, purple changed to blue, and sparks emitted from his body.
Zap!
"Whoa!" he muttered, as his speed was off the charts.
Thud! After just a few seconds, he fell to the ground.
"Yeah... this combo burns too much mana," he muttered as he backed out, while grinning out loud.
----
"Lightning Body, Blue Lightning." Sli#47 turned into blue lightning as he zipped through the sli farm owner’s chest, turning him into a crisp, scorched corpse!
Thud!
He landed and turned back to normal, while—Thud!—the scorched body fell to the floor, smoke rising from the corpse.
----
"We thank you," the Oakfield villagers knelt and thanked their savior.
Young Sli repeated what he did in the 24th tiline, saving Oakfield villagers by killing all the guards and donating Bailiff’s crystals.
[ Ding! You have gained a new title—Oakfield Village Saviour {Common}! ]
’Here it cos...’ He still rembered the wisp of faith he would gain from this title.
Last ti, his trait Eternal Mastery had eaten it. Now he did not want to miss it again, so he clicked on Title and on Faith Info for a new window to pop up, but—
[ Ding! Trait—Eternal Mastery {Mythic} has devoured the wisp of faith! ]
’What...’ He scowled in fury, clenching his fists.
"It’s okay... It’s okay...there will be many loops....I’ll see how many tis it can devour," he muttered, calming down.
----
[ Ding! You have killed Aqua Crocodile! ]
"It was a very easy fight..." he grinned. Last ti, he had felt it was tough due to being a Fire Sli. Now, he was Lightning Sli. Just with Lightning Ball and other lightning skills, he killed it.
He did not even need to use his trump combo.
He glanced at the notification and rembered the small details he had asked Elder Sli.
---
"Elder Sli, why am I not getting exp from killing?" Young Sli questioned doubtfully.
Old Sli answered flatly, "You will only get EXP if the one you kill has a level higher than you; soone sa level as you, or just three levels lower than you. If not, no EXP."
Hearing that, Sli#47’s eyes twitched.
"What did you expect? It’s for the world’s benefit. Think about it—if a level-100 wanted to level up, he could slaughter hundreds of level-10 people with no risk, and the world would end by an extinction." Elder Sli’s words made Young Sli nod, despite feeling a little pity.
Then Old Sli continued with a smile, "Even fighting a similar level or just three levels lower is very challenging, as they are almost equal in power. No one wants to risk their life in battle... this is why our world isn’t flooded with powerhouses."
----
"There it is..." Elder Sli muttered as he glanced at the sealed door.
End of the Chapter.
