Chapter 62—Death!
"Roar! Roar!" The howls of monsters echoed through the hall.
’This world... doesn’t let stay calm,’ Sli#47 muttered, irritated, as he glanced at the magic-sealed door. "What do you think, Elder? Should we break in?" he asked.
Elder Sli replied, "It’s not just an ordinary magic seal. It’s a magic array. Let check it once."
Wob! He bounced near the door, stopping just a little away, and tried to poke it with his right index finger.
In a mont, a violet-colored barrier manifested as his finger neared the door, spreading from that point to cover the entire area like ripples in water when a stone is thrown. ’Hmm, quite strong,’ he noted.
The barrier covered the entire section of wall with no visible cracks or weakness. It vanished as soon as he pulled his finger back.
"What do you think, Elder?" Red Sli asked as Wob! he bounced over as well.
"Just a mont," Elder Sli replied as he poked the barrier with his index and other fingers on both hands in a row, multiple tis.
This ti, the barrier stayed manifested while Old Sli kept poking it, trying to get closer to the door.
"That’s it," Old Sli grinned.
Puk!Young Sli also didn’t back down as he touched it. "Hmm, feels solid, almost like Mana Shield, and it’s quite strong... I cannot break it," he muttered, sensing its strength just from that contact.
He stared at the disappearing barrier with interest, ’This...an array—the kind mostly shown in cultivation novels, like formations, and it also appears in so ani, and manga.’
"It should be sowhere... here," Elder Sli muttered as the barrier vanished. He turned his eyes to the floor and scrutinized the entire area.
"There... it is," he said, spotting sothing a little behind them, covered by a rotten, moldy carpet.
He pivoted, lifted the carpet, and a large glowing light violet magic sigil appeared in their view.
’It’s... too complex to an illiterate like ...’ Sli#47 thought, feeling he didn’t even fully understand the language, much less magic glyphs.
Since Old Sli had not asked him to break it by force, he knew he couldn’t just smash it apart.
Elder Sli knew his full battle prowess; the fact that he never suggested brute force implied Sli#47 could not tear down the barrier and enter.
As Red Sli scrutinized the symbols and the mana flow, he spotted a two striped blue mana crystal at the center.
But Old Sli pulled it out before he could get a proper glimpse of what it did.
’It should be the energy source for the array,’ Young Sli mused, drawing on all the novels he’d ever read.
The magic glyphs, having lost their energy source, stopped glowing and turned into black scribbles.
The barrier behind them stopped functioning; when he tried to poke it, his body simply passed through the air.
"Roarrrr!" The monsters inside the room were still roaring relentlessly.
Suddenly—Crack!
A thick tentacle burst through the door and pierced straight through Elder Sli’s core. Puk!
’Elder, no...’
He glanced at the incoming red tentacle, dotted with tiny eyes, as it shot toward him.
He reacted quickly and Wob!—leapt aside to dodge, but the tentacle twisted in mid-air and rushed at him instead.
"Mana S—"
Before he could finish his spell, it pierced straight through his core—Puk!—while he was still in mid-air.
[ Ding! Your core has been destroyed! ]
As his vision darkened, he spotted three silhouettes inside the room—blurry and imnse.
"Sta—"
He tried to activate his skill, but consciousness slipped away instantly.
[ Ding! You have died! ]
He failed to even glimpse their true power.
----
In the Black Void.
He opened his eyes to nothingness.
’I have to get very strong...to defeat those three..whatever they were,’ He mused, but he grinned.
"That was the best loop... out of all," he muttered.
He had not only co close to reaching the place Old Sli had pointed toward, but had also escaped the sli farm, killed the sli farm owner, the noble kids, and others—taking the revenge he wanted.
Soon, however, bitterness rose. He had lost his favorite skill combo, Blue Flas and Fire Body, and all his stats would be reset.
He had lost his racial skills and many other abilities.
"Let’s try a new class and master new skills," he decided with a grin—a new hope for a new loop.
He knew he’d beaten the sli farm owner largely because of that combo, but now he wanted to beco stronger without relying on it.
While he was lost in thought, golden rays fell on him from above.
’So relaxing,’ he grinned, feeling energy surge through him.
[ Ding! Curse has been eliminated! ]
[ Ding! Tiline 78521452224.24 has ended! ]
[ Ding! Start Tiline 78521452224.25? ]
[ —Y— or —N— ]
He started the new tiline.
[ Ding! Starting Tiline 78521452224.25! ]
[ Reincarnating Sli#47! ]
[ Ding! Trait — Eternal Mastery {Mythic} — activated! ]
[ Locking Skills — Acid Fist {Lv.Max}; Evade {Lv.Max}; Human Tongue {Lv.1}; Demon Tongue {Lv.Max}; Fireball {Lv.Max}; Mana Shield {Lv.Max}; ditation {Lv.Max}; Iron Body {Lv.Max}; Appraisal {Lv.Max}; Aura ditation {Lv.2}; Residual Pain Tolerance {Lv.1} ]
[ Locking Masteries — Fist Mastery Tier 1; Fire Magic Rune Tier 1; Aura Mastery Tier 0: 25% Proficiency carried over! ]
He’d trained Aura ditation to Lv.2 while rushing on Bull#1.
’Yup... no skills,’ he felt bitter at losing almost everything at once despite knowing he’d.

In the sli farm...
He opened his eyes to Mama Sli’s warm squeeze. "I am your mama, child," she cooed.

’A weak start, like always...even my demon colonel title is... Wait, my hard work paid off... I don’t have to suffer,’ his eyes almost had tears as he glanced at the Will stat.
He’d been tense, thinking he’d have to get burned again by Elder Sli’s fireball, but apparently he didn’t have to this ti.
----
All events proceeded like the previous loop, with him declaring to Old Sli that he had a trait that let him go back to his birth point.
----
"So, Elder Sli..."
End of the Chapter.
