Chapter 59—Corrupted Minion

The brown-haired woman poured all her aura into the Fire Chains, but all she managed were tiny cracks—Crack!

Whoosh!—Gzz! The Fireball cast by Sli#47 rushed toward her and hit her in the face.

Gzz!Her body was engulfed in flas as she scread, "Ahhh!"

"Stop! Stop!" the white‑robed woman yelled. She didn’t want her friend to die.

The middle‑aged man and the young lad were unconscious from their burns.

The blue‑haired woman, already terrified from the earlier exchange, said nothing, only staring with wide eyes at the burning woman.

Only the white‑robed woman kept her composure and begged for the slis to stop the flas.

He wanted more information, but if they resisted even after hearing the sun goddess was an unholy creature, then fine—he’d find others.

Fireball was far stronger than Fire Chains—a support skill—and its power showed instantly. The screams stopped. Gzz!Thud! A black, scorched body and burned armor hit the ground.

"Why you...!" the white‑robed woman snapped, unable to endure anymore as she cursed Elder Sli.

"So, you still won’t believe that those sun and moon are true unholy creatures?" he asked, turning away. Then he said to Young Sli, "I’ve learned enough. That’s all we need."

Sli#47 understood. It was ti to send them on their way.

With a faint sigh, he thought, ’Looks like....I’ll have to kill them.’

It might seem ruthless, but it wasn’t. They had already established enmity by torturing them. If they let the adventurers go, they would inform their guild and bring serious trouble down on the slis.

"Fireball," he chanted, as a flaming sphere manifested.

Suddenly—Zzz!—black energy erupted out of the brown‑haired woman’s charred body.

The power Whoosh!—was so overwhelming, it blew the adventurers, Elder Sli, and the others backward.

Only Red Sli remained stable, feeling just a wave of cold, unpleasant energy brush his body.

Her scorched body twisted and warped into a grotesque spider—three ters tall, six spear-like legs, and twelve eyes glowing on her head.

Only a hint of her human face remained; the rest was pure monster.

"Roar!" The chains binding her snapped instantly.

All this happened in the blink of an eye, but Sli#47 reacted at once and used his skill.

"Status."

"Grr!"

She pounced on the middle‑aged man lying nearby and—Crack!—bit his head off in one bite, chewing happily.

’Her class changed to match that spider form... and that new title—Sun Goddess’s Minion and slave—that wasn’t there before,’ he noticed instantly, "Her strength also jumped massively."

Whoosh!

He slamd the fireball he’d cast earlier into her face—Bang!—just as she was bouncing toward the young lad’s body to devour him next.

"Roar!"

The flas made her shriek in rage due to pain as she turned toward the red sli, all twelve red eyes locking onto him.

The white‑robed woman struggled to her feet, trembling as she stared at her corrupted friend.

’The sli wasn’t... lying... How could we humans accept those unholy creatures as gods? And it’s not just her... many, so many others like her... the Church of the Sun Goddess... the Church of the Moon God...’ A chill ran down her spine as she thought about those two powerful churches.

She didn’t even notice her own tears falling. The brown‑haired woman had been her friend since childhood.

She recalled how she played hide and seek with her. How they trained with her under her master.

And how they pranked their parents along with other elders from their families.

’No wonder... she changed after joining the Church of the Sun Goddess... and I couldn’t see it at all...’ she thought bitterly, as she finally noticed her eyes had filled with water, "It has been so long since I had cried..."

’Damn...’ Young Sli realized he had to go all out.

"Iron Body, Haste!" he layered his aura‑boosting skills.

Wob! He dashed toward the spider and shouted, "Acid Fist!"

Bang!

His fist smashed into her head.

"Roar!" The spider recoiled in pain as blood flowed from her temple, and he landed a short distance away.

"^^6F&" she roared in gibberish as her entire body lit up with black energy. Sa black energy condensed around her six legs, making them seem like tallic, sharper than blades.

As she swept her legs, black energy blades ford in mid-air and Whoosh!—rushed toward Red Sli.

"Mana Shield!"

A transparent, square barrier appeared before him.

Bang! The blade crashed into it; smoke rose, only to be blown aside as the spider’s black aura intensified.

Whoosh!

She flashed in front of Young Sli and slashed at him with her front legs like dual swords, trying to cut him from both sides.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

"Hm." Red Sli poured aura into his body and dodged with a swift bounce, launching himself toward her head.

As he closed in, he saw the spider grin. Her second pair of legs shot toward him, coated in dense black energy.

"Tch." He clicked his tongue. "Mana Shield!"

He ford a transparent barrier as a platform beneath him and—Wob!—jumped even higher, while the second pair of legs were still coming in his direction. "Blue Flas, Fire Body!"

In an instant, he turned into a small living blue fla and Whoosh!—shot straight at the spider.

Her front two legs were extended far away. The middle legs were still swinging forward at full speed, and she was balancing only on the last pair.

She could neither defend nor attack in ti.

’Ga over,’ he thought as he Whoosh!—passed straight through her body.

A diagonal streak of blue fla carved through her, leaving a gaping hole. Gzz! Her entire body caught fire, and she burned away into black dust.

"No... No, how could Aunt Sam be corrupted..." the blue‑haired woman whispered, crying as tears splattered the ground.

"Now, do you believe ?" Wob! Elder Sli bounced toward them and asked.

"Yes... I do... Not just that..." The white‑robed woman nodded sharply, then continued, stamring, "She’s just..."
