Chapter 13—Death of fellow slis.
Whoosh!—Whoosh!—The woman sliced the jelly from the lastsli.
"UHg#$Hh," she muttered with a grin, walking off with a sack full of the sli jelly.
Sli#47 shovedMama Sli and Elder Sli toward the woman when she arrived—just in case that brat showed up again. Luckily, the kid didn’t appear today.
[ Ding!
You took a critical hit!
Your vitality dropped from G to G-! ]
’Damn it.’ He clenched his fists so hard that the tiny stick in his hand snappedclean in half.
"Yu###U," a garbled voice echoed as—Boom!—rough man dumped another pile of garbage onto the ground.
The stenchhit him like a slap.
"Tch!" Sli#47 clicked his tongue and jumped on the trash.
He knew it was uselessto resist; they’d just throw him in the trash anyway. Might as well eat filth and get his Vitality back.
After a few hours, the trash disappeared from the ground—not even a drop of filthy substance left behind.
’I need to get stronger—faster,’ he decided firmly, wobbling toward the training area.
Boom!
He froze—the sound of an explosionrang through the field.
He pivoted and glanced toward the direction of the sound.
A pile of goowas left on the ground.
Boom!
Another blast—but this ti he saw it clearly. Wob!—a bouncing sli burstmid-air, splattering into a pile of goo.
Drops of blue liquid rainedon the ground.
"What! What—what the hell just happened?! Why are they exploding all of a sudden?" he shouted, panic bubbling in his voice.
Boom!—Boom!
Slis exploded in a row, totalling eight deaths.
"Calm down, child..." Elder Sli said softly, patting the young one’s shaking body.
"What..." Before he could ask, the old sli spoke with sadness and pity, "They lost their vitality. Every being dies when their vitality fallsbelow G-."
’Damn humans,’ he roared inwardly. His core achedas he watched—Wob!—jelly blobs bouncing over the ground, not understanding that so of them died.

Bam!—Bam!—Sli#47 kept slamming his fists into the wooden fence.

It had been a few hours since the slis died, but the young one didn’t calm down. He trained with fury, angervisible in his eyes.
His tiny fists turned red, but rage drownedthe pain completely.
"That’s enough for today," Elder Sli said, his voice stern.
Bam!—Bam!
The young sli was not in the mood to listento the old sli. But—Smack!—he was hit on the head as Elder Sli roared, "I said that’s enough for today!"
Wob!—Wob!
Sli#47 froze as a warm voice whispered behind him, "It’s okay, my child." Mama Sli wrapped around him gently, rubbing his body with affection.
Mama Sli cuddledwith him, and his emotions finally cald down.
The next day...
"%$^GV," the woman yelled, cleaningthe goo with tools before leaving, then—Thud!—throwing a sack of garbage to the ground.
’That’s it? Just a little anger?’ Sli#47 muttered, disappointed. He’d felt that she was angry, was because of the pile of goo, they left behind.
If he’d known that she had actually uttered, "Damn slis, can’t they die cleanly," Then he would have jumped on her.
-------
Soon, onemonth passed....
Bam!
Sli#47 smashed his glowing grey fist into a small branch of wood in mid-air and—Thud!—landed on the ground.

’Good,’ he smiled to himself.
[ Ding! Acid Fist leveled up to Lv.4! ]
He’d felt his proficiency was increasing too slowly, so he requested Elder Sli’s help. The secondstage of training began—wood pieces thrown randomly into the air by older sli, which he had to strike in mid-air by leaping up.
It gave a huge boostto his proficiency, allowing his Acid Fist to level up twice.
[ Ding! Fist Mastery proficiency 1 ]
Though small, the jumping and hitting gave a littleprogress to Fist Mastery as well.
’Better than nothing,’ he mused, glancing at the blue panel.
In the past month, three more slis died—eleven in total.
According to Elder Sli, they didn’t properly eat, leading to a fall in vitality and eventual death.
’So skipping garbage ans death, huh,’ he thought dryly.
He’d gotten used to seeing the death of slis.
Still, he felt his heart might truly break if he kept witnessing the deaths of such cute creatures.
It also strengthened his resolve to save them all from humans without a single scratch in every loop, once he grew powerful.
------
Whoosh!—Whoosh!
The harvesting of jelly went by quickly as the woman left with a huge sack of the sli jelly.
Thud!—A sack of garbage was thrown to the ground.
Wob!—Wob!—All slis jumped onto the filth. Sli#47 closed his eyes as his body absorbed the trash.
[ Ding! Your vitality has increased!
Vitality: G- to G! ]
’It keeps hovering between G- and G,’ he sighed at the notification. In the beginning, his vitality was G , but after the harvest started, it never recovered.
After two hours...
Bam!—"Acid Fist!" the young sli yelled, slamming his glowinggrey fist into the wooden fence.
Gzz!
Sparks flashed, smoke rushed out of the wood as he pulled back his tiny fist—a full fist mark clearly visible on the fence.
’I did it,’ he grinned, staring proudly at the mark he left behind as—Ding!— a new panel appeared in his vision.
