Chapter 123—Getting Back into Action

"I had many more questions to ask him," Sli#47 muttered bitterly. "I hope he succeeded in achieving what he wanted by coming to the past."

He patted himself. Pat!

’No ti-wasting. Let’s start,’ he thought. ’I need to clear those three trials—and win the reward.’

A small grin appeared as he sensed Seralyth’s power within him.

"If things go the sa as the previous loop, I might get her power again," he whispered.

After a few monts, he said, "Status."

[ Ding! Opening Status! ]

[ Status: Physical Death

—Soul: Alive {Half Soul Suppressed}

—Soul Essence: Half sealed by the sealed artifact’s seal {Divine}, and the other half leaking

—Caution! Warning! Warning: Soul essence is leaking!

—Will: F {Original: E... cracked and dispersing} ]

"Whoa...," Sli#47 stared at the status with wide eyes. "No wonder... Future said it’s too tough."

"And it seems soul power is soul essence, and the soul itself is made of it..." He finally understood what "soul" actually ant.

With a sigh, he clicked on the new skill.

[ —Skills—

...

—Soul Chronicle Lv.Max {Mythic }—

—It stores all mories and emotions via soul essence.

—It keeps mories and personality intact.

—Note: Created by &%^&& for his younger self.

—Caution: It requires soul essence to use! ]

"It’s created by my future self..." he muttered, staring at the panel.

"He ca to the past... just to pass this skill to ." His voice lowered. "And it requires soul essence—which I’m already lacking."

He fell silent for a few monts, then decided firmly, "It’s either die while losing my personality... or die faster while keeping my personality and mories intact."

"Since my future self created this skill," he muttered, closing his eyes, "sothing dangerous must have happened."

He opened his eyes and clenched his fists. "I should avoid that... and not focus on it."

He decided to die—while keeping his personality and mories intact. ’Even if I die faster.’

"Soul Chronicle," he used the skill.

A jolt ran through his body—quick, less than a second.

[ Ding! A tiny portion of your soul essence has been reduced due to Soul Chronicle usage! ]

’What’s this?’ he thought, sensing sothing like a shard deep within him.

’Is this in my soul?’ he mused. He couldn’t sense his soul or willpower clearly, but he could feel Seralyth’s power—and a white shard within him.

As soon as he focused on the shard—

[ Ding! Soul Essence Shard detected! ]

[ Use it? ]

[ It contains all mories and emotions of Sli#47! {Personality}! ]

[ —Yes— or —No— ]

He clicked ’No’.

’I don’t need it for now.’ He could recall everything perfectly—at least for now.

Then he rembered his Pain Tolerance skill evolution and opened his skill panel to check.

A bitter smile tugged at him.

’My first divine skill... and I got it through suffering.’

He rubbed his middle section with a wince. ’I’m used to this... but I still feel a sting once in a while.’

"It seems my soul needs more ti to adjust," he muttered. "Then the pain will fully disappear."

He glanced at the panel.

[—Skills—

...

—Extre Pain Tolerance {Divine} Lv.Max—

—Ability to withstand pain increases

—Increases all pain tolerance to the extre, even from authority injuries

—Does not require energy ]

’Authority injury... so it’s not just the soul,’ he realized. "Soul injury alone is already painful... and Authority made it worse."

The skill felt like it was mocking him, "So now I can withstand more pain... even authority injuries."

He sighed, ’Vael... one day I’ll kill you... I’ll make sure to take you with even if I fall.’

His downfall was solely due to that small nace.

[ Ding! Start Tiline 78521452224.178? ]

[—Yes— or —No—]

He clicked Yes, taking a deep breath.

’I’ll keep them safe while I’m alive,’ he promised.

[ Ding! Starting Tiline 78521452224.178! ]

[ Ding! Reincarnating Sli#47! ]

[ Ding! Trait —Eternal Mastery {Mythic}— activated! ]

[ Locking Skills — Acid Fist {Lv.Max}; Evade {Lv.Max}; Universal Tongue {Lv.1}; Demon Tongue {Lv.Max}; Fireball {Lv.Max}; Mana Shield {Lv.Max}; ditation {Lv.Max}; Iron Body {Lv.Max}; Appraisal {Lv.Max}; Aura ditation {Lv.Max}; Extre Pain Tolerance {Lv.Max}; Aura Recovery {Lv.Max}; Lightning Ball {Lv.Max}; Mana ditation {Lv.Max}; Mana Torrent Refinent Technique {Lv.Max}; Wind Blade {Lv.Max}; Water Ball {Lv.Max}; Piercing Stone {Lv.Max}; Shadow Ball {Lv.Max}; Earth Mold {Lv.Max}; Demonic Surge {Grade 1} {Lv.Max}; Demonic Cloak {Grade 1} {Lv.Max}; Demonic Pulse {Grade 1} {Lv.Max}; Demonic Bind {Grade 1} {Lv.Max}; Demonic Fist {Grade 1} {Lv.Max}; Soul Chronicle {Lv.Max}; Demonic Recuperation {Grade 1} {Lv.3} ]

----

Young Sli opened his eyes in Mama Sli’s arms.

"I am your Mama, child," the cute sli bead, rubbing her soft body against him.

Sli#47 hugged her tightly. ’I’m so sorry.’

He used to believe everything "reset" when a tiline started.

Now he knew they had died—many tis—and often because of him.

The mont he saw her, he couldn’t hold back. He hugged her harder.

His eyes turned wet.

Mama Sli tilted her head. "What’s wrong, child?"

Young Sli wiped his eyes. "Nothing... I’m just happy to see you."

"Silly child." Mama Sli grinned and patted him.

After a few monts...

He spotted Elder Sli, lazily resting among the other slis.

Wob!

He bounced over and jumped onto him.

"What’s wrong?" Elder Sli was shocked. He yelled sternly.

Young Sli didn’t let go for a few monts.

----

Later...

Young Sli explained that he had a trait that sent him back to the past.

He told them that he—and everyone—had died because of a powerful enemy.

’I shouldn’t tell everything,’ he mused, glancing coldly at the black sun in the sky.

"Hmph! Just a death..." Old Sli humd coldly, though he was secretly happy that the child cared.

"It’s an honor to die in a fight," he added sternly. "As a warrior, you cannot cry."

"Soday, we all die unless we attain godhood."

Young Sli tilted his body. "Godhood?"
