Chapter 119—Giving Up
A few minutes earlier...
"Is there no permanent solution?" she asked, glancing at the Ti God.
The massive male silhouette replied, "I can increase the seal’s power on the sealed artifact, but this only extends ti."
He paused and sighed. "The creature within the sealed artifact possesses an Authority. It will reset the seal—one day or another."
"You didn’t prescribe this solution before," the lady said grimly, clenching her hands, "This has a problem, doesn’t it?"
The Ti God nodded plainly, "If I increase the seal’s power, the young sli’s soul will also be suppressed by it, since his soul is half-fused with Vael."
"How about closing the hole in the sealed artifact itself?" the lady proposed.
"No. It cannot be done," the Ti God replied coldly, glancing at the blue cloak on Young Sli.
"The sealed artifact contains the true body of that unholy creature, and through that hole, its soul slipped out and fused with this sli."
"There is a connection between its true body and its soul," the Ti God continued. "Using the link, the sealed artifact’s seal suppresses the soul."
"So to close the gap, the connection must be cut between the body and the soul," the lady understood. "And if that is done... the unholy creature is free via soul—"
"And it can recreate its body again, becoming totally free," the Ti God continued. "That can threaten the existence of the world."
"To which you wouldn’t agree..." Lady sighed, rubbing her forehead.
"Seal Modification—Suppression," the Ti God cast, extending his palm toward the cloak on the blue sli.
A light-blue magic rune flashed on his palm as magic sigils on the blue cloak lit up and shifted under the Ti God’s mana.
"Damn it, all of you—I’ll take my revenge one day!" Vael yelled furiously as he disappeared.
The blue cloak on the sli’s body emitted golden light as golden chains began to manifest in the young sli’s soul dinsion.
Large, bulky golden chains ford.
They wrapped around Vael’s entire white soul—along with half of Young Sli’s soul—binding tightly.
----
"What about the cracks on his will barrier?" she asked doubtfully, turning to the Ti God.
"As if you don’t know," the Ti God replied sharply.
Then he asked back, "You have an insane number of soul-healing spells. Why don’t you heal him?"
The lady sighed. "Ordinary healing spells won’t work. "His will cracked from the Authority of Ti, and only another healing Authority can nd those fractures."
She paused, jaw clenching. "Since the young sli’s soul and the unholy creature’s soul are fused—if I use Healing Authority, the Authority of Ti in Vael’s soul will react—"
The Ti God took over. "And clash against your Healing Authority will crack the seal, and we will be back to square one."
"Yes..." The lady closed her eyes. "We are out of options..."
She glanced at Young Sli. "He is the first one... where we couldn’t do anything except keep him alive."
"And that’s not the main deal," the Ti God added coldly, staring at the unconscious sli. "He lost the advantage."
"Advantage?" the lady asked, doubtful.
"Ti loops strengthen the soul and willpower through suffering," the male silhouette explained, "But his will barrier is cracked now. His soul essence will leak through it, little by little."
"Ti loops would drain his soul essence faster?" the lady realized, biting her lips.
"Yes. If he doesn’t heal his will barrier, he could die anyti. And it will be true death," the Ti God simplified.
"And level-ups won’t work... since it’s an injury from Authority of Ti..." the lady exclaid, realizing Young Sli was dood.
"Due to this... he cannot live for long, much less loop indefinitely," the Ti God added coldly.
They glanced at the blue jelly blob one last ti.
’Why are you so unlucky?’ The lady looked at the young sli apologetically—then disappeared along with the Ti God.
-----
A few months later...
Sli#47 stared blankly into nothingness as he adapted to the pain.
He glanced at a new notification.
[ Ding! Your Supre Pain Tolerance {Mythic} has evolved into Extre Pain Tolerance {Divine}! ]
He simply lay on the ground, not even bothering to check the details.
’I should sleep...’ he thought. ’Maybe it will relieve .’
----
After a few days...
Young Sli got up, rubbing his eyes.
"For a mont... I felt this was a bad dream," he muttered, rembering the dream where he had returned to his house from his previous life.
Just when he felt he had slept enough—
"Are you giving up?" a voice asked kindly.
The voice was cute, like a child’s.
And—
’Seralyth language?!’
Sli#47 froze.
"Who are you?" he demanded in the Seralyth language, looking around.
Black energy appeared to his right.
A silhouette of a five- or six-year-old boy ford in the space.
His appearance was pitch-black, like a shadow, and he wore a cloak.
He was bald—odd for a kid.
Young Sli roared, "Who are you?! Were you the one who saved those two tis?"
He pointed at the boy’s face. "And giving up? You would have already given up if you were in my place!"
"Hahaha." The shadow grinned as two dark lips and a pitch-black hole appeared.
"You... you are Vael, aren’t you?" Sli#47 barked furiously.
The shadow replied calmly, "I am you... from the future."
"What...?" Blue Sli exclaid. "What new trick are you playing, Vael?"
"Why don’t you use Appraisal?" the shadow beckoned, waving his tiny palm.
"Appraisal," Sli#47 used the skill.
[ Ding! Opening status! ]
[ Status ]
[ A shadow ford from the Authority of Ti ]
[ A clone of **** {Your future self} ]
"Why are there stars?" Young Sli asked, feeling it might be another trick.
"It’s my na..." the shadow paused. "You aren’t qualified to see."
"Qualified?" Young Sli snarled. "What qualifies—? You are another trap!"
The shadow sighed. "Status."
He swiped the panel toward Young Sli.
Sli#47 stared at the shimring panel that floated down to him.
[ Status ]
Na: #@@@ {Sli#47 removed}

’It’s really... .’ Blue Sli felt relief.
But just as he was about to read more, the panel disappeared.
He looked bitterly at the shadow.
The shadow coughed. "Knowing the future is very bad."
"Seralyth’s words... huh." Current Sli#47 muttered.
Then he asked, "Why now... why not before Vael?"
He roared, pointing his index finger at the shadow. "If you could travel to the past, why now—why not earlier?"
"Because... you were about to give up now," the shadow said solemnly. "Wasn’t that true?"
