Chapter 117—Sudden Attack

Sli#47 clicked—Yes—on the panel without hesitation.

[ Ding! The newly created language shall be sent to the people who have Universal Tongue and Demonic Tongue at Lv.Max! ]

[ Ding! You have acquired a new title: True Language Creator (Rare)! ]

He opened his titles section to check properly.

[ —Titles—

....

—True Language Creator (Rare)—

—A title given to the creator of a true language.

—Blessed by the Voice of the World {Increases luck}.

—Your na shall live for eternity! ]

’Luck... I need that the most,’ he mused bitterly. ’If I had better luck, I wouldn’t have been born in a sli farm and....’

He quickly went through the notifications.

After a few minutes...

Clap! Clap!

"Congratulations. You have completed the Trial of Wisdom," the shadow said as he manifested in front of him, clapping.

"Any reward?" Young Sli asked without wasting a second.

The shadow paused, then replied, "No... only after you complete the three trials of the Demon King’s Heir will you get the reward."

"Really?" Sli#47 felt genuinely let down. He was truly expecting a power boost.

Suddenly—

"Hahaha..."

A cold laugh echoed, attracting the attention of both the shadow and the multicolored sli.

"So, this is your ti," A beautiful, mature woman with nine tails and fox ears manifested, wearing a modern black suit.

"Professor Seralyth!" Young Sli exclaid, staring at the porcelain-white beauty.

She glanced at the small multicolored sli and said softly, "I’m impressed. To think you nad a true language after ."

She paused, then grinned brightly. "You are the only student who has given such an honor."

"Since this trial doesn’t have an award, I’ll give you one. I’ll gift it to you."

She raised her hand. Dark energy condensed on her palm into an orb. Gzz!

"Here," she said, pointing the orb at the sli.

Whoosh!

The black orb rushed into Sli#47 and fused with him.

[ Ding! You have acquired a portion of Demon King Seralyth’s power! ]

"This is just a re shadow of mine," the white fox said bitterly.

’I gave him my remaining power... I’ll die,’ she thought. She wasn’t sad about her death. Rather—

’I couldn’t see him grow... a student who gave such honor.’

"If I were at my peak—or even had my true body—I would have given you much more." Her eyes turned a little wet. "I hope we’ll et again soday."

Zzz!

She disappeared like smoke.

Young Sli felt an unfamiliar tightness in his core—as if she had just died.

Which, in truth, had happened...but he didn’t know.

The shadow glanced at her with a small smile. ’You’ll et him again... if things go as Lord Remora expected.’

"She’s a Demon King?" Sli#47 exclaid, staring at the notification in his vision.

From the mont she appeared and gave him power, only a few seconds had passed.

"She is a Demon King," the shadow confird calmly.

"Wasn’t she only a professor?" Young Sli uttered, mouth wide open.

"Yes. Most of the professors in the Demon-academy were Demon Kings," the shadow answered, shattering Sli#47’s assumptions.

’So that ans even that old man Brad was a Demon King...’Sli#47 recalled Professor Brad’s calm, petty behavior—and felt a chill. Now, he’d felt the students’ fear of the nine-tailed fox felt disturbingly reasonable.

"So, will you start the next trial... or take ti to rest?" the shadow asked.

"I’ll—"

Just as Young Sli was about to answer—

Whoosh!

Vael manifested from the cloak and stood beside him.

Young Sli didn’t pay much attention to the small humanoid, as Sli couldn’t deal damage.

However, Vael grinned coldly and cast, "Soul Crescent Blade."

A white half-moon blade—only a few centiters wide—ford in a flash and shot toward Sli#47.

"I recovered so reserves to use this spell..." the small humanoid muttered. "Your will should be damaged heavily by this..."

"What the—?!" Young Sli was bewildered when the sudden attack struck.

"Double Elent Shield. Demonic Surge. Demonic Cloak!" He used all his power. He knew Vael shouldn’t be underestimated.

A multicolored barrier ford around him, leaving no weak spots, and a second barrier stacked over it.

Gzz!

Dark demonic force wrapped around his body, and a black cloak ford around him.

Whoosh!

The blade reached him in less than a mont.

It tore through the barriers like butter.

Crack! Crack!

Even the demonic cloak couldn’t stop it. At most, it dimd the blade before shattering into pieces and disappearing.

In the next mont, the attack had entered his body—piercing deep into his core—and rushed to strike his soul.

"It’s a soul attack!" Sli#47 roared, clutching his upper body as insane pain ripped through him.

----

Within Young Sli’s soul dinsion...

Sli#47’s white soul—covered by a white barrier, his will—was the first defense.

It held against the blade.

For a few monts...

Crack! Crack!

The blade’s power began cracking the will barrier as it tried to reach the soul itself.

----

"What the... what happened?" the shadow barked; he couldn’t see Vael.

The only thing he witnessed was Sli#47 suddenly casting multiple spells—then clutching his upper body and thrashing on the ground.

"It’s ga over for you," Vael muttered, watching the multicolored sli roll in pain, "And that new power inside you....I suppressed it with my authority of ti."

Just as Vael grinned happily, his own body was suddenly zapped by golden light.

The blade’s power inside Young Sli’s soul weakened as the white barrier began to hold stronger.

"Damn it," the small humanoid muttered as the golden light continued zapping him. "Damn sealed artifact’s seal... it’s starting to suppress ..."

ZZZ!

The golden light brutally suppressed Vael.

’I used a great amount of energy... so the sealed artifact began to suppress ,’ he realized, annoyed. ’What a good...sealed artifact creator...’

He was furious at the creator of the sealed artifacts yet again.

"What’s going on?!" the shadow yelled, rushing toward the writhing Young Sli.

"Hyper Regeneration," the shadow cast, thinking it was a physical injury.

A light-green magic rune flashed on his palm, and light-green rays fell onto Sli#47.

Thud!

Vael collapsed onto the ground, unable to move under the seal’s suppression.

’I win...’ he grinned. "Before the sealed artifact’s seal totally suppresses ... your willpower will be shattered, sli."

"What a pity! More than one year of sleep—energy recovery—gone in one attack!" he yelled furiously.

The shadow kept pouring energy into the healing spell, trying to save Young Sli.

"No use... healing magic for the body won’t work on souls," Vael grinned cruelly.
