Chapter 102—Taking in Wolves

Sli#47 soon reached Arica Lotus Pond with the gang.

He didn’t fight the baron’s soldiers—because the Third Young Lord hadn’t arrived to level up yet.

’The Dancing Lightning Party won’t arrive so soon,’ he mused, rembering the day they would fight the white wolves. ’Looks like I have to hide a bit.’

He needed crystals. Without them, they couldn’t activate the teleportation array—much less use it.

"Roar!" the aqua crocodile screeched, rushing out of Arica Lotus Pond as the slis and cattle started collecting water.

But he suddenly froze. A cold chill ran through his body.

He turned his head and spotted the multicolored sli staring down at him from Bull#1’s back.

"Submit. Now submit to , or..." Sli#47 said coldly.

’This should be easy,’ he thought. ’My title, Demon Colonel, should be super effective against demons weaker than .’

Just as expected, the aqua crocodile knelt and trembled. "Yes... I submit to you... My lord," he said.

[ Ding!

You have gained a subordinate! ]

"Good," Young Sli said, satisfied, eyeing the notification.

Then he ate his fill with the gang and headed toward the White Wolf Gang.

----

After a few days of travel, they reached the territory of the White Wolf Gang.

Wob!

The slis bounced forward—and wolves answered with a chorus of roars.

"Roar!"

A majestic white wolf, almost twice the size of ordinary wolves, stepped into the field. A thick horn jutted from his forehead.

"Slis... and ordinary animals," he declared arrogantly. "Leave, and I’ll let you go."

He felt it was beneath him to fight weak slis, unintelligent creatures, and those who had only recently awakened.

"Submit to , or..." Sli#47 said plainly, releasing demonic force while sitting atop Bull#1.

Black demonic force spread across the wolf gang’s territory.

Gusts of wind blasted out, shaking trees.

He controlled the pressure perfectly so his fellow demons wouldn’t be affected. Even Bull#1 beneath him only felt a hot breeze.

Thud! Thud!

Every wolf dropped to its knees under the crushing pressure.

The horned white wolf was forced to kneel under pressure.

He was only level 77, while Sli#47 was around level 89—only a ten-level gap, yet their combat power was on completely different planes.

"You are my lord from now on..." the wolves agreed imdiately, trembling.

However, the horned wolf was enraged. He flared with crimson aura and roared, "How dare you, puny sli?"

"Demonic Surge." Young Sli intensified the pressure.

Thud!

The horned wolf’s head slamd into the ground. He couldn’t even raise his gaze toward the multicolored sli. Fear filled his eyes as his body was out of his control.

"I... accept your command, lord," he submitted.

Sli#47 nodded with a small grin.

Elder Sli stared at his student with a wide smile, clearly satisfied.

Little Sli bounced over—Wob!—eyes sparkling.

"Wait! I want to ride you!" he said, staring at the horned wolf. "I want to ride the White Wolf!"

The White Wolf leader glanced at Young Sli.

Sli#47 nodded with a small smile.

The horned wolf gently picked Little Sli up in his mouth and tossed him onto his back.

"Go, go!" Little Sli grinned, patting the wolf’s fur.

Mama Sli smiled too, joyful that her son was getting stronger and stronger.

But the other mount—Bull#1—watched the horned wolf with competitive jealousy.

’I need to get stronger... or that guy might take my place,’ Bull#1 feared. ’It’s faster, stronger, with smoother fur.’

He stared at the shiny white hide. It looked soft and comfortable to ride.

Then he glanced at his own muscular black body—hard, tough, and no fur.

Cow#1 watched quietly. ’More and more powerful demons are joining under the lord,’ she thought, confused. She wasn’t sure whether she could still be useful.

’I need the Dancing Lightning Party to arrive. I’ll wait here,’ Sli#47 decided, scanning the grass and the scattered trees. ’It’s a nice place to stay.’

"We’ll stay here," Young Sli ordered, glancing at everyone. Everyone nodded.

But Little Sli’s excitent dropped a little as he looked down.

"I’ll call you Wolf#1 from now on," Sli#47 said, glancing at the horned wolf. "Take Little Sli for a walk."

Thud! Thud!

Wolf#1 went for a walk while Little Sli rode him with joy.

The little guy’s happiness brought a quiet warmth to Sli#47’s eyes and a wide grin.

Elder Sli pointed at a random wolf and asked, "Do you have any crystals? Mana crystals?"

A wolf replied instantly in an energetic adult female voice, "Yes, we do!"

"Lead the way," Elder Sli ordered.

The wolf guided them to a large cave more than 150 ters away.

The multicolored sli followed behind, still riding Bull#1.

"It’s quite big," Sli#47 muttered as he entered.

Light filtered in through small holes in the stalactites.

The cave was deep—thirty ters at least—and big enough for the entire wolf gang. At the end, a few wolf cubs slept under large leaves.

Broken weapons, cracked armor, magic pouches, and human skeletons lay scattered among a few animal corpses and bones.

’Yeah... they eat them,’ Sli#47 thought, noticing half-eaten carcasses.

So skeletons still had pouches hanging.

The leading female wolf tugged the pouches free and dumped the contents onto the ground.

Crystals clinked and rolled along with other items like clothes.

One pouch after another emptied.

"They aren’t enough," Elder Sli said bitterly.

For a mont, even Young Sli felt excited—he had hoped it would be enough.

’Only the Dancing Lightning Party is hope,’ Sli#47 sighed. ’Most adventurers are poor.’

----

Under the crimson rays of ten moons...

"I need to learn a healing skill," the multicolored sli muttered, rembering the pain and effort of healing the injuries caused by the Mana Torrent Refinent Technique. ’Aura Recovery can’t keep up with how fast my injuries stack.’

----

Days passed.

Thud! Thud!

The baron’s army reached Oakfield Village to collect taxes.

And they found the village bailiff dead, farms burned, and guards slaughtered.

The sa thing repeated—just like the previous loop.

The baron’s soldiers killed everyone while the children hid, believing the villagers had mocked them. Baron got the notice.

And Victoria awakened.

----

In Blackwell City’s Adventurers’ Guild, a new mission appeared on the board.

[ —Group Mission—

—Level: B

—Investigate Oakfield Village and the surrounding 50 km radius.

—Notify the guild of any irregular findings.

—Caution: Requires a minimum of 10 B rank adventurers. ]

The new mission had attracted everyone’s attention.

"Do you think the Dancing Lightning Party will take this mission?" A fat young adventurer asked, glancing at the others.
