Even if there’s going to be a difference in the power of physical attacks and the area of effect magic, then if we were fine on the twenty-second floor but ended up getting one-shotted on the twenty-third floor, then I feel like the twenty-third floors would be filled with nothing but corpses, and its mortality rate would be horrendous. I know this because I need to attack the monsters with Durandal to recover my health more and more often.
That would be pretty bad.
「Well, if we go there and it turns out to be too tough for us, then we can always go back. In the worst-case scenario, we might be forced to use our Sacrificial Misangas, even though I really don’t expect it to be so tough for us to die after getting hit just once. But either way, in order to see how tough is it going to be, we have to actually make our way there and start fighting. No matter how much ti we’re going to be spending on the twenty-second floor, everything’s going to start from the next one.」
「That’s right. We all have Sacrificial Misangas, so in the worst-case scenario we’re going to be able to survive one blow that would otherwise kill us. That being said, I don’t think that the monsters on the twenty-third floor are going to be using area of effect magic in rapid succession, but I cannot guarantee it with absolute certainty. I also never heard of anyone entering the twenty-third floor so quickly after starting to entering the Labyrinths for the very first ti. But now that we have Vesta as a Dragon Knight in our Party, its stability should greatly increase, even though she’s pretty new to entering Labyrinths herself.」
Sherry, please clarify if you want to reassure or make feel uneasy with your words.
Well, I guess that in the case of the ordinary people it would really take many years of training before they could reach the twenty-third floor, but since we have the benefit of earning many tis more EXP than the normal people, then there’s nothing wrong with us getting there this early.
Even Vesta has already reached Lv.25 as a Dragon Knight. But even thought it has only been around half a month since Vesta started to co into the Labyrinths with us, I feel like she should have a little more sense of danger. However, Vesta was getting attacked by the monsters on the twenty-second floor as well without getting damaged all that much, and even though she was a bit confused about it at the beginning, she must probably be thinking that it should be fine for us to move on to the twenty-third floor.
「Let us be on our way then. Roxanne, can you sll where the Gummi Sli is?」
「I have never encountered it before, but there’s a sll that I have never slled before, so maybe that’s going to be it?」
「Are there many such slls nearby? If so, then guide us to where there is going to be only a few of them.」
「The closest group to us consists of a sll that I have never slled before, but their numbers are a little large. I think it’ll be better to try the other side.」
As expected of Roxanne, her sense of sll is as helpful as always.
Since there is a possibility that the enemies might start using area of effect magic, it would be dangerous to pick a fight with a lot of them first.
A group of five Gummi Slis, all shooting out area of effect Spells all at once. I can’t even imagine it.
Sherry is probably going to cancel so of their Spells with her spear, but she won’t be able to do that with all of them. There was also this one ti where we couldn’t cancel the enemy’s Spells in ti because they were being fired at us in rapid succession.
It’s going to be pretty rough.
That’s scary to imagine.
Anyway, we should avoid fighting against a group of five of them for as long as we can, but still, it makes feel stressed about my life expectancy.
「Thank you, Roxanne. Now, let’s move over there.」
We proceeded forward under Roxanne’s guidance. While we were on our way, I removed Gambler and replaced it with Alchemist and had all of us Plated, just to be on the safe side.
If I do it this way, then no harm should happen to us.
「When we’re going to et the next group of monsters, I think it would be better for us to approach them first instead of waiting for them to approach us like we used to do until now.」
「Hmm? Ahh, I see.」
「We can definitely do it like that.」
Sherry gives so advice while showing her Steel Spear of Power.
Even if the enemy tries to use their area of effect magic, Sherry can always cancel their chanting process with her spear. But in order for her to do that, the monster in question has to be close enough for her to actually be able to reach it with her spear.
Does that an that from now on I should be running straight towards the monsters from the mont they appear instead of waiting for them to do it like I always did until now?
「Alright. Nevertheless, I’m going to try to take the first shot. There’s no need to try to cancel it if it’s not too early.」
「Understood. However, there’s no way for us to tell if the magic attack that the enemies are going to use is going to be a single target one or an area of effect one. I think it should be more common for the monsters on the twenty-third floor to be using single-target Spells. I don’t think there’s any difference in power between area of effect magic and single target magic, but it would be difficult to test whether everyone can recover in ti after receiving an attack from an area of effect magic.」
Now that makes even more frightened.
I understand Sherry’s points, but I wonder if it still wouldn’t be better for to receive the area of effect Spell at least once to see how powerful it would be, but that might actually be harder to pull of than I thought.
For the ti being, I just told Sherry what I wanted to do. I was planning to take a single shot to asure its power, but if I end up getting hit with a series of shots instead, then that definitely wont be pretty.
I guess Sherry’s suggestion is the right thing to do in this case.
I thought that if I’m going to receive that magic attack there won’t be the need for to rush over to the enemy, but it’s entirely possible that while I’ll be waiting for that first shot to co my way I’m going to be attacked with a second magic attack.
As I was thinking about such possibilities, we have arrived at the group of enemies that Roxanne was guiding us to.
It was a group of two: one Gummi Sli and one Clam Shell.

This group is pretty much the closest to what I wanted to fight against right now. Four people began running towards the enemies, and in the anti I shot 「Sandstorm」 towards them, since Earth Magic is the Clam Shell’s weakness.
This battle is supposed to be a trial against a Gummi Sli, so naturally we should dispose of the Clam Shell first.
Gummi Sli has many elental weaknesses, not just Earth Magic. Clam Shell, a monster native to the twenty-second floor of Quratar’s Labyrinth is also a monster present on the twenty-first floor of Quratar’s Labyrinth together with the Kettle rmaid whose weakness is also Earth Magic.
The twenty-third floor of Quratar’s Labyrinth does not look like a good hunting ground.
If it shoots Earth Magic towards , then I will repay it with the sa thing. When the 「Sandstorm」subsided, I stopped and launched another shot of magic towards them. As expected, releasing magic while running is a considerably difficult thing to do.
I need to concentrate. I shoot my spell, and then I run again.
Roxanne and the others reached the monsters before then could get hit with the area of effect magic.
Gummi Sli is a nostalgic-looking, gelatine-like monster. It looks exactly like I rembered it. Roxanne stands in front of it, and Miria slashes at it from the side while Vesta was dealing with the Clam Shell.
Sherry stands slightly behind the two monsters and thrusts her spear at the Gummi Sli. This battle is supposed to be atrial one against it, but is it really okay?
