"Aren't you afraid of getting beaten up for doing this?"
After the truth was revealed, Monk felt an uncontrollable rage. This outer shell was not only lifelike but also ticulously accurate.
The appearance of "Longinus" was extrely sensitive. It was, after all, crucial to the core of sothing as vital as the "Dinsional Gate," and it was indeed best kept secret, even its na, especially from ordinary people.
One wouldn't know what ambitious individual might be plotting, and it was impossible to guard against every potential threat.
"Those who can beat won't bother, and those who can't... hehe!"
Chen Fei's few cold laughs showed that he didn't care in the slightest.
As a nobody at the bottom of society, at least he had three to five distant relatives who were not insignificant.
Those who could deal with him were above such things and wouldn't bother with him, while those who couldn't beat him would only be asking for trouble if they tried. Why be polite? He would just fight back.
"With your attitude, you're bound to hit a wall soday!"
Miyoshi Xuesen shook his head in frustration. He was increasingly determined to groom Chen Fei as his successor, to train him for several years, hand over his painstakingly built network of connections smoothly, and then retire with peace of mind. He didn't want to hand over to a stranger who might turn against him, ending his days unpleasantly.
Having done enough bad things, Monk knew well that it was just a matter of ti before it would co back to bite him. Chen Xiao'er, who was ruthless and daring, was the best candidate for succession.
Although Chen Fei was currently under the secret protection of the Chen Family and occasionally faced minor troubles as life tests, these were far from the level requiring intervention by the bigwigs, especially with the Lin Family and Silan Royal Family not publicly showing their faces. There was no need to worry about major troubles.
However, walking in the dark often, one might eventually encounter sothing unexpected. If an unobservant rookie showed up and things went out of control, it could turn ugly.
Miyoshi Monk being assigned to Chen Fei might be a secret wish of the bigwigs. An old hand like him was suitable to show the young generation the ropes.
"Let's talk about it when the ti cos!"
Chen Fei remained indifferent. He had seen a lot, far beyond his age and experience. How many ordinary people had the chance to witness an interstellar civil war first-hand?
He had taken down two giant dragons, and even Sky Dragon City didn't want to cause him trouble, so everything else was a trifling matter.
"You!"
The two parted on bad terms.
However, they still returned to the bridge together.
Chen Fei needed to continue overseeing the airship and managing the entire tactical group.
The Monk continued to watch over him, both to protect and to monitor, also helping with coordination and communication.
For instance, when Chen Fei had been unable to use "Spatial Branding" due to an injection of Supernatural Ability Suppressant, the spatial alchemy storage device now on his left wrist was obtained by Miyoshi Xuesen through his connections, sothing absolutely unachievable through regular channels.
Back on the bridge, the S-Class Ability User Yan Ling scrutinized him up and down. Seeing that he had returned unscathed, she suspiciously asked, "Was that bug a dud? Taken down so easily?"
An insider sees the way, an outsider sees the fuss. As an S-Class Ability User, she was all talk and no action, having no combat capabilities herself.
In Yan Ling's eyes, since she didn't know the truth, it appeared as if Chen Fei's humanoid cha, using its railgun, had failed to take down the six-legged monster insect, and a cold weapon had instead managed to achieve the result, which was simply incomprehensible.
Obviously, the railgun's piercing damage was more lethal, wasn't it?
But the reality was contrary, a fact she just couldn't wrap her mind around.
"I have a divine weapon specifically against parasitic species. A hit will instantly annihilate its consciousness."
Chen Fei didn't plan to hide the existence of the "Godslaying Spear." Even the "Soul Guarding Seal" wouldn't remain a personal secret. He conveniently took out the "Godslaying Spear," with the blade sheathed in an organic polyr cover to avoid accidental injuries.
With an S-Class Ability User's clearance, she would eventually find out if she were determined to investigate.
If the Silan Royal Family hadn't sponsored these high-grade alchemical artifacts, he wouldn't have taken such a reckless move. That would be suicidal, not brave.
Once getting into trouble was enough; next ti, he might not be so lucky.
"Is it really that powerful?"
Yan Ling gasped. She reached out to touch the "Godslaying Spear," but Chen Fei pulled it back and shook his head, firmly refusing to let her touch it. After all, even a small wound from it would have serious consequences.
"Yes, it's that powerful!"
Chen Fei nodded. Could the Silan Royal Family's items be subpar? It was a matter of royal prestige!
Parasitic species were innately strong in spiritual power, and facing such a weapon was akin to eting their nesis.
If a high-level parasitic species didn't die from one stab, then stab them twice, completely ignoring defenses and the severity of injuries.
"Is the bug back? Let have a look!"
Yan Ling wanted to closely inspect the six-legged monster insect that had nearly posed a huge threat to everyone.
If it wasn't for the "Arena" restricting the opponent's mobility and Chen Fei's weapon specifically designed to counter it, the situation would have likely been very different.
"It should be... in the aft compartnt!"
Using Artificial Intelligence AI "Adam," Chen Fei confird the location of the "spoils of war" he brought back.
All airships remained in the airspace near Midway Island, without having left. The "Wormhole Cloud" continued to spew out large numbers of "Fighter Bugs." The clean atmospheric environnt was ideal for directed-energy weapons; laser beams flickered continuously, and those biological entities, similar to jet fighters, exploded into flas before they could even fly out over the island and reach the sea's surface.
Loaded with high-energy reserve chemicals, these creatures were also highly flammable and explosive, easily detonated by the laser beams.
The nearly dead six-legged monster had yet to be handed over and was temporarily stored in a chamber of the No. 2 flagship, guarded by the small team of Ability Users who had fought it, breathing its last breath and practically dead. Both the parasite and the host were simultaneously killed by the "Godslaying Spear," making brain death a given, leading to either dissection or harmless disposal. It couldn't survive long in any case.
There really wasn't much to see, but unable to refuse this young lady's curiosity, Chen Fei led her to the aft compartnt to view the miserable state of the six-legged monster.
Ravaged by particle beams, missiles, focused light energy, armor-piercing incendiaries, Battle Qi, and magic, the creature's body was in a horrible state, with its mouthparts missing a portion, compound eyes shattered, the antennae on its head almost entirely gone, leaving only black stubs less than a centiter long, and the three narrow mbrane wings on its back reduced to two mangled stumps, with the remaining six components turned into sticks. The tough transparent wing mbranes were all gone, the limbs and shell were badly damaged, and the insides spilled out from three holes, two of which were through-and-through, making it a revolting sight.
If it weren't for the final blow from the "Godslaying Spear," this six-legged monster wouldn't have survived the prolonged beating, especially with so many Ability Users ready to join the fray.
In this battle, the Blue Star Human Civilization had the advantage of the "Arena" and superior numbers.
Fighting an unfamiliar away ga as invaders, the "Sagali" found it hard to gain an upper hand quickly with such tentative attacks. However, it was foreseeable that with the progression of ti and invasion developnt, the parasitic species would escalate their efforts. If not adequately addressed, the Blue Star Civilization would eventually be overwheld by their hard power.
Restrained on a rectangular tray, the six-legged monster was immobilized, its body strapped with tal and non-tal cables, along with securing components, restraining it completely from head to tail, including its remaining limbs. The mouthpart area was especially tightly sealed with transparent special materials, giving no chance for trouble. Any small movent would be detected.
The tal restraints binding the creature were not Chen Fei's craftsmanship. Other tal Ability Users in the team, selected by the Blue Star Global United Defense Committee, had overlapping Psi Skills, with varying efficiency. So were more effective than others.
Sprawled on the platform, the six-legged monster was eight ters long, with a maximum girth of over three ters, resembling a thirty-seat bus, making humans appear tiny next to it.
Without magic, Battle Qi, special abilities, or professional combat mobility armor, humans would stand no chance against such monsters.
"Look, it seems like this bug has gemstones embedded in it. Not sure if they're real gems or demon crystals."
Yan Ling pointed to the transparent "crystals" scattered over the creature's head, thorax, abdon, and limb joints, so intact and sparkling, others shattered and covered in foul-slling fluids.
"Not sure what they're made of, maybe a form of keratin. There are too many secrets about the 'Sagali,' and we can't uncover everything yet."
Chen Fei shook his head, indicating his own uncertainty.
The intelligence gathered from the Silan Royal Breed and Alien Parasitic Species was insufficient to cover the entire parasitic species.
The unknowns were extensive, demanding significant ti and effort to explore.
"Huh? Those crystals seem to be glowing!"
Yan Ling blinked, noticing the crystals on the six-legged monster's body were brighter than before, unsure if it was an illusion or a change in ambient lighting.
"Glowing? 'Adam,' analyze the brightness of those crystals!"
Chen Fei promptly delegated the analysis to the AI. While human eyes could discern subtle brightness changes, maintaining focus and having the trained experience was challenging, sothing "Adam" could easily handle.
