When Chen Fei suddenly brought up the other high-ranking mbers of the Righteous Army, the short-haired woman with ears-cut, Nalan, preemptively answered, "The high-level opinions are still not unified and, on top of that, busy with the war, so for the ti being not all can be identified."
Although the "Radiant Tiger" legion had received Parasitic Hosts and successfully dissected a "Sagali" parasite offspring, where there are people, there is Jianghu. Trust is not sothing that can always be had, and the Rebel Army has never lacked dissenting voices.
Even when presented with incontrovertible evidence, so may still take mysterious actions solely for the sake of opposition due to power struggles and factional stances.
"Oh?"
Chen Fei's voice of surprise was indicative of sothing and it also acted as a form of pressure.
"Parasitic Species are not our imdiate priority; the current most important goal for the Restoration Army is to repel the Dynasty Army, take complete control of the Zilu Continent, and rebuild the Tessa Empire."
Commander Stephens made no attempt to hide the intentions of the Tessa Empire Restoration Army. In fact, it was no secret at all; both friend and foe were well aware of it.
Despite the significant threat posed by the Extraterrestrial Races, the imdiate threat of the Slan Dynasty's army was greater. If the Restoration Army were to be distracted, it might well lose its current stronghold.
In a world where the victors reign and the losers forfeit all... including Stephens and Nalan, every high-ranking mber of the Restoration Army would not fare much better than becoming a walking corpse after being parasitized by the Parasitic Species.
"There has been a 'Prophecy' by a supernatural power user that the Parasitic Species will destroy the Blue Star Civilization in the future. I guess Cangqiong Star, as the point of invasion and landing, probably couldn't escape this calamity either."
Chen Fei didn't intend to persuade the other party single-handedly but simply laid out the 'Prophecy' as a logical argunt.
He himself was nothing more than a powerless common man who got lucky killing a Giant Dragon, earning him a second glance from important figures. Besides that, he still had no right or ability to lecture anyone.
"Prophecy? Is it true?"
Commander Stephens was genuinely astonished. Blue Star's special abilities were varied and nurous. Even after adopting the Elental Series classification of Cangqiong Star, there were still so rare abilities that couldn't be categorized.
The "Prophecy" Psi Skill, despite being rumored, had never been confird to exist.
"The president of Louis Industrial Company, Louis Landon, his 'Prophecy' has been verified many tis," Chen Fei ntioned a na.
In an effort to bolster his own persuasiveness, he decided to sell out a big na—self-preservation ca before friendship.
Although Louis Industries was not a company of Cangqiong Star, the Restoration Army would not casually question it, much less easily offend such a power broker.
"Louis Landon?"
Commander Stephens was rather taken aback.
This Commander of the Eastern Warzone for the Tessa Empire Restoration Army and the short-haired woman Nalan beside him looked at each other in astonishnt. The elusive and mysterious "Prophecy" supernatural power user turned out to be this significant individual, whose presence was deeply hidden.
Louis Landon was by no ans an unknown figure, but rather an individual of considerable social standing, wealth, resources, and connections. Logically, even if Chen Fei were bluffing, he should not have used such a public figure to back his claims—as any lie would be too easily exposed.
Chen Fei knew it would not be easy to persuade them, and followed up with, "He not only predicted the doomsday of the Blue Star Civilization but also prophesied about your battle in Nandu City, including the attack on the Ground Portal Gate Managent Substation, the capture and loss of the 'Longinus' plane coordinates. The Extraterrestrial Race that secured 'Longinus' then launched a massive invasion. He personally ca to Nandu City to witness history, right in that business hotel."
Both the personal testimony and the "Prophecy" were present, and they were located in Nandu City, the third-largest city on the Zilu Continent and one of the hotspots of the battlefield.
"That's impossible! But none of these 'Prophecies' have happened!"
The short-haired woman Nalan suddenly stood up, shocked. Chen Fei's statent was loaded with implications.
If they could "Predict" the battle at Nandu City, and if it wasn't a prophecy, then it would indicate a severe leak of highly confidential strategic plans. Given her job nature, she couldn't help suspecting this and preferred to err on the side of caution.
"Because I intervened in your battle with the Ground Portal Managent Substation, I altered the future, and so the 'Prophecy' did not co true. I'm a variable outside of the 'Prophecy.' Mr. Randon said so himself. If you don't believe , you can call him personally to confirm," Chen Fei concluded, taking out his mobile phone, pulling up Louis Landon's contact number, and placing it on the table, indicating they could dial right there and then.
With dubious looks cast on the mobile phone screen, the short-haired woman Nalan's expression suddenly changed, and she exclaid in surprise, "Why does your phone have a signal?"
While Chen Fei's phone did not look much different from a regular phone in appearance, its functions included an additional satellite communication band, differentiating it significantly from the typically bulky and awkward form of military communication hardware.
"Eh? Your phone has a signal?"
Minante only then noticed that the signal indicator on Chen Fei's phone screen was showing a normal connection.
Could it be that he has been carrying the encrypted communication relay gateway given to him at all tis? But since they had changed locations, the communication authorization should be invalid, right?
"I've always had a signal."
Chen Fei didn't bother explaining since an explanation was just Psi Skill.
A systematized Psi Skill that effortlessly tosses out an Artificial Intelligence AI "Adam" is nothing odd. There are even more inexplicable Psi Skills—one of them being the sudden and unexpected Prophecy ability.
"No wonder it's Louis Industries!"
For so reason, Commander Stephens thought of the technological prowess of Blue Star's top tech enterprise, Louis Industrial Company.
The talent-rich Louis Industrial Company had developed a custom-tailored smartphone capable of breaking through communication blockades; it wasn't impossible.
Chen Fei: "?"
Not explaining was tantamount to a cover-up. Since the other party had this idea, it was good. He shouldn't mind those minor details.
He gestured to his own phone.
"Shall we make a call to confirm now?"
"Yes!" The short-haired woman with ears-cut, Nalan, gave Chen Fei a deep look and unceremoniously picked up the phone.
Though she and Commander Stephens remained half-convinced, Minante, who accompanied Chen Fei to this place, had no doubts about the authenticity of this communication number.
Only a large industrial corporation with strong technical capabilities, like Louis Industrial Company, could possibly manufacture that chanical Dragon with combat power equal to a real Giant Dragon. Any weaker, and it would be impossible to achieve such a feat.
(As a non-mass-produced Conceptual Armant, if not for Chen Xiao'er's Psi Skill enhancent, even if the production chain of the X-D-005 Giant Dragon-type Combat Mobility Armor were running at full capacity, it would likely fail.)
The call went through quickly, and the short-haired woman with ears-cut stepped aside with the phone and talked for a while. Finally, she placed the phone, that had ended the call, back on the table and nodded to Commander Stephens of the Eastern Warzone.
"It indeed was Louis Landon. The prophecy most likely exists!"
The president of Louis Industrial Company was truly in Nandu City, at a business hotel not far from the Ground Portal Gate Managent Substation. It was entirely possible for him to have intersected with Chen Fei.
Three teams of people had been prepared in advance to wait in the area around Nandu City. The ti it took to assemble these teams probably was not later than when the Restoration Army initiated their uprising. This level of foresight was almost prophetic, even if not an actual Prophecy.
"This really is trouble!"
Commander Stephens propped his elbow on the table and began to scratch his head with unease.
He was of the Cangqiong Star People and knew from childhood that the extraterrestrial race "Sagali" was the nesis of all living beings. Any creature large enough to host them would beco a Parasitic Host. Those not large enough would beco food, with almost no exceptions.
To fend off the invasion of the extraterrestrial races, the Cangqiong Star Civilization had been resisting for a hundred thousand years. Nearly every Intelligent Species, and almost all Heavenly Sovereigns, had the obligation to accept the summons.
Once it was confird that the Parasitic Species were about to launch another large-scale invasion, and this ti the targets were two civilized planets, a critical crisis of life or death would reerge. However, the choice facing Commander Stephens was between the imdiate interests of restoration and the future of civilization.
To sacrifice oneself for the good of civilization was not a choice everyone could make.
"After I die, let the floodwaters rage. What I can't have, no one shall have." There were many who thought this way, and such individuals existed throughout the Restoration Army, from the top down, and in no small numbers either.
Convincing those people to divert a portion of their manpower and resources to fend off the early stages of the Parasitic Species' invasion was enough to give Commander Stephens a headache. Moreover, the manpower and resources committed could not be minimal. Otherwise, they would be serving themselves on a silver platter as new Parasitic Hosts, only making the situation worse.
"We don't have much ti. Please consider carefully. Let's end here for today and arrange for our departure."
Chen Fei, unburdened by the worries of great figures, only wanted to protect his family. He was ready to sacrifice himself for them if needed.
"'Rookie'?"
Minante saw that Chen Fei had barely spoken a few words before wrapping up the conversation and couldn't help but feel anxious for him.
"I have done all I could."
Chen Fei turned and nodded to Minante.
What decision the Restoration Army's higher-ups would make next was beyond his control.
He had done what needed to be done; the rest was up to fate.
There was sothing he didn't tell Minante, though; this place was no longer safe to stay.
Commander Stephens, still pondering, gave Nalan a nod. She stood up and said, "I'll arrange your departure. Please follow ."
Chen Fei imdiately followed, with Minante close behind.
When they were far from the Forest Villa, Minante lowered his voice and said, "Rookie, why give up just like that?"
They had gone through a lot of trouble to get there, but had left without saying much and without a clear grasp of the leader's specific attitude, seemingly for nothing.
Chen Fei looked at Minante and said calmly, "You and I, what are we after all? I'm a 'Rookie', and you're 'Stinky Tofu'. Get it?"
Small fry trying to make decisions for the big shots were just hurrying their own demise.
"If you hadn't brought up 'Stinky Tofu,' we'd still be friends!"
The friendship was capsized just like that; Minante's face imdiately darkened.
