Energy Points: 20000/20000
With energy points in hand, Chen Fei was not anxious. Although he had no way to sweep the old machinery dump outside of Hablav City clean, nor did he want to indulge the Dog System in wasting energy points, he still filled up his energy point reserves before departure to be prepared for unexpected needs. Only then did he feel truly reassured as he followed Miyoshi Xuesen and the others, leaving the Blue Star Global United Defense Committee headquarters in Hablav City.
A small Magic Cube Warship set off under the cover of night.
As both were located in the Southern Hemisphere, traveling from Yangzhou Continent to the Southern Continent of the North Arican Federation did not require crossing most of the globe. It took only six to seven hours to arrive at the edge of the plateau and rainforest area of the Southern Continent.
The landing site was an uninhabited valley.
It seed that the Blue Star Global United Defense Committee intended to discreetly and quietly take care of the targets on the huntsman list.
"We are still 300 kiloters away from Lin Zien's secret base."
As Miyoshi Monk spoke, shadowy figures leaped around the area like birds circling, then swooshed into the dense forest as if birds diving into the woods.
The entire Ninja Team was brought along, and even though they were ordinary people, they were ordinary people with long-term combat skills training. Temporarily imbued with special abilities, they imdiately beca more formidable, comparable to D-level ability users, and even more difficult to deal with than D-level ones.
The primordial rainforest was fraught with perils that could claim a life in an unguarded mont, with even mutants unable to survive. However, for ninjas accustod to wilderness survival, this was not a difficult task, rather, they were in their elent.
"Are we really not going to fire a shot?"
Chen Fei took out the tablet he carried with him and compared it with the electronic map.
The 300 kiloters seed not too far away, well within his shooting range.
The Huntsman Squad had the coordinates of the target secret base, and now, by taking out the "D-600 type twin rail heavy cannon," he could strike the 600 kiloters distance. If one shot didn't solve the problem, then two would.
Before departure, Chen Fei had examined the list of supplies carried, which included ten 600 milliter caliber shells, four armor-piercing shells, two Cloud Bombs, and four Demolition Bombs.
Despite his protests, the list had been prepared properly.
Each shell weighed at least two and a half tons. Made exclusively for the super-caliber railgun, there was no propellant, just pure payload. The impact was far more devastating than a 2000-pound aviation bomb—it was a one-way ticket to hell, guaranteed to take out the target.
All these supplies were in the Space System Alchemy Storage Device that Miyoshi Xuesen carried.
Backed by several sovereignties, it was only natural for the wealthy and powerful Blue Star Global United Defense Committee to equip those carrying out special missions with alchemical storage artifacts.
One of Xiao Jiu's leg rings, which included a ring from a Spatial Storage Artifact, was also packed with several boxes, roughly four to five tons of supplies.
"No way!"
Miyoshi Monk, originally in monk's robes, now wore the sa type of half-armored tactical gear as the ninjas, with corresponding protection at the hands and joints.
A 600 milliter shell falling from the sky would undoubtedly eliminate the mission target, but it would also an the local residents and tourists would beco collateral damage.
The Blue Star Global United Defense Committee wasn't the Water Bear organization. Such disregard for human life and indiscriminate killing were definitely not acceptable. The bald monk emphasized from the beginning that innocent lives should not be hard, whether he was genuinely benevolent or not.
"There are so many insects here, can't we land closer?"
Masuya, with her naturally curly red hair, had no choice but to activate her Wind-type Psionic Ability, scattering the various small flying insects that attempted to swarm around her.
Yet the buzzing sound still persisted, annoying and distracting.
When mosquitoes approached Aunt Caroline, they spontaneously combusted with a pop. Before they could even hit the ground, they turned to smoke and dissipated into nothingness.
Andrew and Tuert, each with their own thods, prevented the mosquitoes from getting close.
"We can't. Lin Zien is very vigilant. There will be surveillance within a hundred-kiloter radius. To be safe, we need to approach on foot starting from beyond three hundred kiloters and, at the sa ti..."
Miyoshi Xuesen looked toward Chen Fei, who was already suited up in "Dragon Guard" Single Soldier Tactical Armor, indifferent to the annoyance of the insects, and continued, "It's to allow Chen Fei's AI 'Adam' to take over the enemy's surveillance system, providing cover for our operation."
It appeared that 'Adam's presence was no longer a secret.
"No problem!"
Chen Fei gave an OK gesture.
```
"Adam" runs a 24-hour process and can be called upon at any ti.
"Chirp!"
Xiao Jiu stretched its neck, grabbed a mosquito that approached, and with a casual toss of the head, it welcod the little snack that was delivered to its door.
In the tropical rainforest, there's never a shortage of various insects; poisonous or not, they're all fair ga, and Little Bird can have a feast anyti it wants.
Among the huntsman squad, the mber most adapted to these local conditions is probably this seemingly fragile Little Bird.
"We have to reach our destination within a week, so the journey won't be easy. The ninjas will scout the route in advance for us. Everyone must keep up and avoid falling behind. Are you all ready? Let's move out now."
Miyoshi Xuesen, wearing ninja half-armor tactical gear that seed to include exoskeleton power-assistance, moved with ease and fluidity. The glasses he wore displayed extrely detailed images, similar to a semi-transparent screen projected in front of him, marking the route and direction of the destination confird by the advanced scout ninja team.
300 kiloters is just the theoretical distance on the map. Trekking through the tropical rainforest with its ravines and mountainous terrain, the actual journey was much longer, just as Miyoshi Monk had ntioned. The ti for the expedition was tight, and if not for the team being entirely composed of ability users, it would likely be impossible to arrive on ti.
Progressing through the pristine tropical rainforest where even mutants couldn't survive, this path was bound to be fraught with danger.
Poisonous flora and fauna were nearly ubiquitous, and unless one's protection was absolutely flawless, a mont of carelessness could easily lead to disaster.
Even the ninjas, experienced in wilderness survival, weren't spared; on the first day, two of them unexpectedly got poisoned. Thankfully, they were promptly injected with an antidote serum, narrowly escaping with their lives.
The ninjas risked their lives to scout ahead, clearing many threats for those behind them like Miyoshi Xuesen and the rest; otherwise, there would've been more, not fewer, accidents.
Even so, as they traveled through the dense forest, new threats inevitably arose; occasionally, Xiao Jiu would suddenly shoot out a laser, followed by the large head of a forest python dropping from above, with purple-red serpent blood spurting out like rain — the rain in this forest resembled the color of blood.
At night, when camping, Miyoshi Xuesen took out camping cabins from his spatial storage artifact, and together with the spells cast by the mages Tuert and Andrew, they managed to barely hold off the relentless disturbance of snakes and beasts.
That was just the first day.
The difficulty of the next day's journey increased rather than decreased. One had to be extrely cautious with every step, or else, inadvertently, one's body would be covered with blood leeches, creeping everywhere, enough to make one's scalp explode at the sight.
Everyone was dressed in specialized protective gear, sprayed with insect repellent from head to toe; otherwise, before even reaching their destination, they'd be drained dry by blood leeches or contract dengue fever and malaria from the insects.
After an arduous trek, the huntsman squad finally arrived near Lin Zien's secret base on the evening of the sixth day.
Guided by a ninja, Chen Fei approached a surveillance cara set up in the rainforest, and from the "bracelet" on his left hand extended the "Universal Data Transceiver" terminal, which split and connected to the cara's multiple data interfaces.
Adam: Gained control of the cara, maintaining the current image!
Chen Fei nodded at the ninja, and the Dark System Ability bestowed upon the latter allowed Miyoshi Xuesen, who was a hundred ters away, to receive the confirmation synchronously.
Adam: Wired data network detected, beginning data link attempt, ti required: 1 minute.
One minute later.
Adam: Highest monitoring system privileges acquired; safe entry is now possible.
Chen Fei spoke into his headset, "All set, folks!"
The controllable Artificial Intelligence AI "Adam" was also one of the reasons Chen Fei was chosen for the huntsman squad.
"Now we can enter safely," Miyoshi Xuesen said as he boldly stood up from where he was hiding.
With the surveillance caras under control, they were like shadows, able to boldly enter the secret base of their hunting target.
"But Lin Zien is not at the base!"
After gaining access to the monitoring system, Chen Fei could monitor the location of the target.
However, through the caras inside and outside the base, "Adam" failed to find Lin Zien's presence, a result that was quite unexpected.
"Where could he be?"
Best-laid plans often go awry, and Miyoshi Xuesen hadn't expected an empty strike; he thought they would locate the target and, while unnoticed, secretly eliminate the foe, then erase all traces—settling scores of the past and present.
