A few ters away from the sinkholes, the only Rank 3 Executive of that patrol group who escaped from the clutches of the monsters, was keeping his presence low.
After being played around by the three Rank 3 Bladefiends, he was heavily injured and exhausted, with survival the only thing left on his mind now.
He stayed near the walls of the tunnel with his back against it, repelling the nearby monsters using his stronger aura, but the Bladefiends weren’t the type to get scared as they relentlessly jumped on him.
Running away from the Rank 3 Bladefiends was already a miracle, so he didn’t expect more when he was being attacked by the weaker monsters.
But the mont he thought the monsters were going to put him down, a voice entered his ears as the monsters before him blew away.
"Morris! You alright!?"
Keliot pushed away the monsters on his path and looked at his guild’s one of the other executives like himself.
"Ke... Keliot?", the man stuttered, pale and exhausted with a hint of blood sared across his face.
When Morris saw Keliot appear before him, his eyes widened in relief and disbelief, as a spark of hope ignited in his chest when he realised their predicant.
"We gotta save them! Keliot, we need to help our people!", Morris shouted as he struggled to hold himself up and stand beside Keliot.
"Don’t worry. We’ll take care of the situation.", Keliot replied while giving him a shoulder to lean on, though a frown grew on his face as he questioned.
"What happened to you? Who beat you up to this state?"
Morris felt a shiver run down his spine when he rembered the thrashing he had experienced at the hands of the three Rank 3 Bladefiends.
He slowly turned to look in the direction he had run away from and pointed his trembling finger there.
"It’s them.... There were three of them! Three Rank 3 Bladefiends!"
Keliot reacted imdiately as his body tensed when he heard there were three of them, quickly moving his eyes around the tunnel to look for them.
"Where are they?! What happened?!"
"Th- There... So holes suddenly appeared and they fell into them.", Morris pointed his finger to the rear of the tunnel.
"Holes?"
Keliot was bewildered, but when he looked at the spot Morris was pointing at, he understood why the man was so terrified and confused.
"What the hell?!", he exclaid in shock finding a dust cloud erging from the hole both of them were looking at.
"What’s happening there?!"
anwhile, within one of the sinkholes, Felix pierced his sword into the Bladefiend under him, who had been thrashed about in the hole and finally put out of commission.
[You have killed a being higher than your own rank.]
[You have gained 1000 skill points.]
"Alright, ti for round two."
Opening up his map, Felix subrged into the ground and moved back up to the tunnel’s surface.
The other two Rank 3 Bladefiends had only escaped out of their sinkholes a few seconds ago, getting back together before they started searching for the person who caused their fall.
It was not necessary at all, because Felix erged out of the ground right in front of them, his sword soaked in the blood of their kind which they imdiately recognised.
Their shock turned into wrath as the two Rank 3 Bladefiends made a run towards Felix with their arm-blades positioned forward.
Felix enjoyed their undivided attention as he grinned at them and got ready to engage in close combat.
"Felix, we’re coming!", a voice broke the intense mont as Keliot and Morris entered the scene from behind him.
"Wait what?"
Surprised by their sudden appearance, Felix found it hard to give his complete focus to the battle before it even began.
The two of them ca forward and shielded him behind them, though the pale look on Morris’ face remained.
"Stand behind us, Felix. They’re Rank 3 monsters, we got this!", Keliot stated as he narrowed his eyes on the incoming Bladefiends.
"Umm...", though Felix wanted to question their involvent as he was more than enough to take them on, he remained silent so as to not make them feel bad.
"Here they co!"
Keliot raised his sword to et the Bladefiends’ attack, both of whom targeted him and ignored Morris knowing he wasn’t the main threat.
Watching Keliot get into a heated battle with Morris keeping him covered, Felix decided to help them in one way or the other.
’Cursed Domain!’
The two Bladefiends attacked Keliot at the sa ti, who blocked them with his quick speed but also felt it too much to handle them both at once.
But when they attacked him the second ti, Keliot found their strikes weaker than the previous ones, which continued to beco weaker and weaker as they went on.
’Holy shit! Are they getting scared of ?!’, Keliot wondered as his chest puffed up a bit. ’Or maybe I’m getting stronger...’
Whatever the thoughts Keliot was indulging in, Felix and Morris didn’t care much as they watched him turn the battle into a one-sided fight.
’This is the first ti I’m using this skill for others’ benefit I guess, though I should’ve simply stolen the kills...’, Fekix shook his head and let go of the thoughts for more skill points.
In tis like these where the situation should be taken care of as quickly and properly as possible, his greed for skill points would only put him in a state that he would later co to hate.
The two Rank 3 Bladefiends found themselves at a disadvantage when their bodies didn’t work normally, making them feel ntally abused and lethargic.
"Co and get , you fuckers!!"
Keliot was evidently happier than ever, because it wasn’t every day you’d get the chance to face two monsters the sa rank as you and be the one on the winning side.
’He’s getting a bit over excited....’
Felix smiled wryly, before he noticed two figures moving towards them from both sides.
’I guess I won’t be needed here then....’, he thought and quietly moved away towards the remaining monsters.
Nicole and Paul arrived at the scene at the sa ti, their presence making the others pause in caution.
"Oh no! They’re from the six guilds alliance!!", Morris shouted in shock, his pale face turning greyish.
"Hmm? Oh, it’s them.", Keliot saw the two newcors who had joined them earlier and said confidently.
"Nicole, Paul, I got this. You guys can take care of the rest."
Both of them nodded, though they were curious how Keliot was going to take on the two Bladefiends on his own.
With a smirk on his face, Keliot used his martial art techniques and fought the monsters with a growing sense of anticipation.
’Heh! I’m gonna look so cool defeating these two all alone....’, he imagined a spectacular mont where he looked like a hero.
Unfortunately for him, the two Bladefiends he was fighting seed to change slowly.
The power behind their attacks got stronger and their speed increased rapidly, which he noticed rather quickly as he was already in a tight spot between them.
’Wait-! What’s happening?!’, Keliot panicked as he blocked their strikes that were clearly different from the ones before. ’Shit! They’re getting stronger? Or am I getting weaker?!’
Although he wanted to know what was happening with the constant change in the power dynamics, what mattered more to him was that he was losing the battle.
"Ugh, Nicole, Paul?!", Keliot turned to the two n standing by the side.
"Can I get a hand please?!"
