Ethan Yardley?

Serena Yardley frowned. ’It seems like Julian asked about that na before, too.’

But she had no mory of it whatsoever.

Putting the stranger out of her mind, Serena smiled, a mischievous look in her eyes as she looked at Nina Thorne.

"Nina, what’s the aning of this? You didn’t bring your husband, but you brought a male friend instead?"

Nina was a bit embarrassed by the question.

She glanced back at Ethan behind her.

Only then did Ethan step forward, carefully approaching the person on the bed. He extended a hand in a gentlemanly and refined manner.

"Hello, my na is Ethan Yardley."

Serena rely gave Ethan a cool glance without shaking his hand.

"Sorry, but I don’t like physical contact with strange n."

Turning back to Nina, Serena pulled her closer and continued chattering away:

"Nina, your skin is amazing."

"Nina, I really envy your husband. He’s so lucky to have such a wonderful wife."

"Nina, can you stay and keep company at the hospital today?"

"Okay~"

Nina smiled gently and demurely, all while glancing at Ethan beside them.

Left hanging, Ethan was speechless. "..."

His hand remained suspended in mid-air for a long mont before he awkwardly pulled it back.

’This woman...’

’She’s really sothing else!’

’Making look like a fool.’

It was the first ti he, Ethan Yardley, had ever been rejected after proactively offering a woman his hand.

But on second thought, it was a good thing that Serena wasn’t rejecting his presence entirely.

’I’m not in a rush. I can take it slow.’

’With my handso looks and successful career, how could I possibly fail to capture her heart?’

After chatting for a while, Serena noticed that the man nad Ethan was still standing there awkwardly. She was a little speechless.

She turned to Mrs. Miller. "Mrs. Miller, why has Julian been gone for so long?"

Mrs. Miller quickly replied, "You keep talking with Miss Thorne, Miss Serena. I’ll go check."

"Okay. Tell him to hurry back. I miss him."

"Alright."

Mrs. Miller left the hospital room.

Ethan was still standing there. Hearing Serena say she missed Julian Thorne made his chest tighten for no reason.

’So bitter.’

But he couldn’t lose his temper.

No matter how upset he felt, he had to endure it.

Nina suddenly spoke up. "By the way, Serena, my friend here also went to Arden University. Have you never seen him around campus?"

At this, Serena’s gaze once again fell on the man standing beside them.

After sizing him up, she said disdainfully, "He’s so old. Is he still a student?"

"Ahem... COUGH, COUGH..."

Hearing Serena call Ethan old, Nina nearly choked on her own saliva.

She coughed while glancing at Ethan, her smile tinged with schadenfreude.

Ethan’s expression, however, was dark.

He took the initiative to speak to Serena. "I am a bit older than you students. I never saw you at the university before, either."

"Our university is huge, with over ten thousand people. Isn’t it perfectly normal that you never saw ?"

Serena retorted, "You’re already so old. Are you still studying?"

Ethan was speechless. "..."

’He was only thirty. How was that old?’

A little angry, Ethan pursed his lips and explained, "I’m not a student. I’m a visiting professor at your university."

"Huh?"

Serena frowned, staring at Ethan with a look of utter disdain.

"Our university has a visiting professor like you? How co I’ve never seen or heard of you?"

Ethan suppressed his anger and said calmly:

"Perhaps you’re just a bit uninford. When school starts again, you can just ask around campus and find out."

"You’re the one who’s uninford! You, a visiting professor? At your age, you should be doing sothing better instead of acting like one of those pyramid sche scamrs who go to schools to brainwash students and teachers. Be careful, or you might get arrested one day."

Ethan was speechless. "..."

He was rendered completely speechless by her retort, practically fuming.

’The only reason he even made ti in his busy schedule to go to her university was because of her!’

’How could this damn woman be so ungrateful?’

Ethan really wanted to explode.

Beside them, Nina quickly shot him a look, signaling him to calm down and not be impulsive.

’Don’t argue with soone who has amnesia.’

Only then did Ethan hold his breath and slowly suppress the fire in his chest.

Serena also realized she might have gone too far. She quickly lowered her voice and apologized to Nina:

"I’m sorry, Nina. I didn’t an to badmouth your friend, but he just seems like the untrustworthy type.

You’re very wealthy, so you should stay away from people like him. I’m afraid he might scam you."

Nina couldn’t help but smile. She nodded and replied, "Okay, I’ll stay far away from him from now on."

She then stood up and said, "You rest here for a bit, Serena. I’m going to the restroom."

"Okay. The restroom is right next door."

"Mhm."

As Nina left, she shot Ethan a aningful look.

Ethan understood.

Now, only the two of them were left in the room.

Serena couldn’t shake the feeling that the man in front of her was strange.

She quickly sat up, grabbed her phone from the bedside, and avoided talking to him.

Ethan moved closer, intending to sit down, but Serena yelped in alarm, "What are you doing?"

Her cry startled Ethan as well.

Afraid of agitating her again, he quickly stopped in his tracks.

"I’m not doing anything. Don’t be scared, I just want to sit for a bit."

"What are you doing sitting in my room? Go sit outside."

Serena remained on high alert.

But Ethan didn’t want to leave. "Serena, do you have so sort of misunderstanding about ? This is the first ti we’ve t, right? Why are you so hostile toward ?"

’If you’re going to pretend, at least make it convincing.’

Serena pouted and said bluntly, "You’re following a married woman around. That proves you have a problem with your morals."

Ethan was speechless. "..."

He took a deep breath and retorted:

"I just ran into her at the entrance. We have to discuss work in a bit. She said she was coming to see a patient, so I tagged along. How does that an I have a problem with my morals?"

"Forget it, forget it. I’m not going to waste my breath on you. If you want to sit, go sit outside. If my husband cos back and sees you here, I won’t be able to explain myself."

Ethan’s anger flared up again at her words.

"Your husband?"

’She actually thinks Julian Thorne is her husband.’

Ethan felt like his lungs were about to explode with rage.

Serena stated plainly, "That’s right, my husband. I’m already married, so please get out. My husband doesn’t allow to have contact with strange n."

Ethan’s lips tightened into a thin line, his face turning pale with anger.

He opened his mouth to argue, but a sound suddenly ca from the doorway.

He turned to see Julian Thorne.

Serena saw him too and quickly explained:

"Julian, you’re back! I don’t know this person. He’s Nina’s friend. Please don’t misunderstand."

Julian was speechless. "..."

He looked at Ethan, who was red in the face with anger, and then back at the person on the bed.

’Serena isn’t rejecting Ethan’s presence anymore... is it because she’s completely forgotten him?’

’This is going to be a good show.’

Julian smiled as he approached Serena and replied:

"I know. Because he’s my friend, too."

He then deliberately asked Serena, "You’ve t him before. Do you really not rember?"
