Serena Yardley was baffled. "What are you talking about?"

"Listen to . Don’t go looking for trouble with Sylvia Schuyler again. Be good, and don’t make things difficult for ."

"..."

"That’s all for now. I’m hanging up."

Before Serena Yardley could even process what was happening and defend herself, he had already hung up.

’So that woman played the victim and complained about first?’

’Damn her.’

’She was the one who ca looking for a fight, and she still had the nerve to tattle on to him?’

Serena Yardley was furious, but she stubbornly swallowed her grievances and headed back to school.

For the next two days, she stayed at school instead of going ho. She didn’t send Ethan Yardley a single text or make a single phone call.

Of course, the man hadn’t initiated any contact with her either.

Then, on Friday, a lecture that had the whole campus buzzing was about to begin.

Serena Yardley sat staring blankly at her desk in the dorm room, while Kylie Cross frantically tidied up and searched for her phone.

Just as she found her phone and was about to dash out of the room, she saw Serena Yardley still sitting there motionless. She doubled back, looked at Serena, and asked:

"Serena, what’s wrong with you? Let’s go! Professor Yardley’s lecture is about to start."

Serena Yardley didn’t move an inch. "You go with the other two. I’m not going."

"Huh? You’re not going? It’s Professor Yardley’s lecture! So many universities across the country don’t get this opportunity. Plus, this ti it’s in the main auditorium, big enough for the whole school. Why wouldn’t you go?"

"I don’t feel well."

"What’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing. You guys go ahead. I’m not interested in so boring lecture."

Kylie Cross felt a little helpless. Normally, Serena Yardley, who loved to learn, wouldn’t be uninterested in a lecture by such a successful man. ’Why is she so down this ti?’

Realizing it was about to start, Kylie Cross didn’t press her any further.

"Alright, you stay here then. I’m off to the lecture."

"Mm."

After her roommate left, Serena Yardley was the only one left in the dorm room.

The truth was, she really wanted to go to his lecture.

Just like the one last year.

He had stood on the stage, dapper and distinguished, exuding an air of elegance, composure, and gentility. He seed to radiate light, completely captivating every student and teacher in the audience.

And she was no exception.

Back then, she had sat in the crowd, gazing at him with utter infatuation, desperately wanting to get closer, to tell him to his face that she liked him.

Of course, back then, she never would have dread that one day she would beco his wife.

Thinking of how much joy and sweetness their six months of marriage had brought her, she didn’t want to give up just like this.

Even if he told her to her face that the title of Mrs. Yardley belonged to soone else and she had to give it back, she wouldn’t be willing to let go.

’My marriage is my decision to make.’

Resting her head on the desk, Serena Yardley forced herself into a state of Hypnosis.

Slowly, she fell asleep.

She was finally woken up by the chatter of her three roommates.

"AHHHH, Professor Yardley is so handso! Standing on stage giving his speech, he looked like a god! How can such a perfect man exist in this world?"

"Yeah, yeah! I secretly took so many pictures of him. From now on, Professor Yardley is my husband."

"Professor Yardley is so handso, it’s a sha he’s not in the entertainnt industry."

"The entertainnt industry is such a complicated place. How could it possibly be worthy of Professor Yardley’s status? He’s perfect as he is now—the President of the Serene Empire Group, the richest man in the country, occasionally giving lectures on university campuses. It’s great.

"Tsk tsk, I wonder what woman in the world could possibly be worthy of a man like him."

"Hey, Professor Yardley’s last na is Yardley, and his company is the Serene Empire Group... Doesn’t that seem strangely connected to our Serena Yardley? It feels like fate!"

Kylie Cross gasped in surprise. "You’re right! Not only do Serena Yardley and Professor Yardley share a last na, but ’Serena’ sounds just like his company, ’Serene’! It really is fate."

Seeing that Serena Yardley was awake, the roommates hurried over to her. "Serena, you’re awake! Do you know Professor Yardley?"

Serena Yardley looked at them without saying a word.

Azure said, "How would Serena know Professor Yardley? It’s just a coincidence with the nas. Besides, there are plenty of people with the last na Yardley in the world. Aren’t there several students with that last na right here at our school?"

Another roommate agreed, "That’s true."

Then they quickly held up a phone with photos in front of Serena Yardley.

"Serena, look! Isn’t Professor Yardley handso? Is he your type? I’m telling you, every student and teacher was there today. The applause never stopped. The whole scene was spectacular."

Serena Yardley looked at the photo of him on her roommate’s phone. Today, he was wearing a black suit and a gray shirt, standing tall and exuding an air of elegance.

’Perhaps it’s his innate nobility. No matter where he is, he seems to glow.’

He really was very handso.

Serena Yardley stood up, avoiding her roommates’ topic. "I’m going to the library."

Her roommates paid her no mind and continued to discuss their dream man, Professor Yardley.

Just as Serena Yardley stepped out of the dorm, her phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID. It was Mr. Young, the assistant who was always by his side.

Serena Yardley answered without hesitation. The man on the other end said, "Miss Serena, please pack your things and co to the parking lot. We’re here to take you ho."

Serena Yardley: "..."

’We?’

’He’s here too?’

Rembering how he had lashed out at her indiscriminately last ti, Serena Yardley stubbornly refused:

"I need to study at school. I’m not coming ho this week."

The assistant’s phone was snatched away by Ethan Yardley. His voice held a coaxing tone. "Serena, co ho with ."

But the mont she heard his voice, Serena Yardley’s defenses crumbled instantly.

But she reined in her emotions and said resentfully, "I’m not going back."

"Hm? Do you want to co get you from your dorm entrance? Be good."

His voice had beco much gentler.

Serena Yardley knew that no matter how upset she was, she ultimately couldn’t resist that older man’s allure.

Pouting, she reluctantly replied with a drawn-out, "Ohhh..."

Putting her phone away, Serena Yardley returned to her dorm to pack her books.

Seeing her return, her roommates quickly asked, "Serena, didn’t you just leave for the library? Why are you back?"

As she packed her textbooks, Serena Yardley replied, "My family called and told to co ho, so I’m heading ho now."

Her roommates were full of envy. "It’s so nice to be a local. You can go ho anyti. You’re so lucky, Serena."

"Serena, you should invite us over to your place soti!"

Serena Yardley finished packing, looked at her three roommates, and nodded with a faint smile.

"Okay, if I get the chance, I’ll definitely invite you over. I’m leaving now."

"Okay, be safe on your way."

Serena Yardley walked out of the dormitory and hurried toward the school parking lot.

Her three roommates were all very nice, and this was the first ti they had asked to visit her ho.

But the house she lived in was his, and their marriage was a secret. She couldn’t bring them ho with her.

After all, she could be facing a divorce at any mont.
