When Serena Yardley woke up again, she had a splitting headache, and her limbs felt sore and weak.
She shook her head, and as she ca to her senses, she realized she was tied to a chair, unable to move a muscle.
’So what happened to ?’
’Why would soone bring here and tie up?’
’Who wants to hurt ?’
Serena Yardley was terrified. She struggled frantically, trying to break free from her restraints.
But it was to no avail.
Her eyes scanned her surroundings, and she realized she was in a dimly lit warehouse. Faintly, she could see a spot of light up ahead.
Silhouetted by the light, a man dressed in black sat in a large executive chair.
Even though she couldn’t make out his features, Serena Yardley could feel his powerful presence and a deadly sense of oppression.
’Who is he? Why did he kidnap ?’
Serena Yardley shouted at the man, "Who are you? Why did you kidnap ?"
Seeing that she was awake, the man waved his hand, and the entire warehouse lit up.
In the bright light, Serena Yardley got a clear look at the man sitting before her.
She rembered him.
He was the man who had suddenly appeared at the mall to warn her.
Not knowing why he had captured her, Serena Yardley shouted again, agitated, "I have no quarrel with you! Why did you kidnap ?"
Quentin Montgory rose to his feet and closed in on her.
His towering figure stood before Serena Yardley. He had long legs and a distinguished air.
His face looked as if it were sculpted by a master artist, with chiseled features and a complexion as fine as jade—he was devastatingly handso.
He leaned down close to Serena Yardley, his gaze sinister and terrifying, his expression vicious. "Didn’t I warn you to stay far away from Gabriel Galloway?"
His voice, like a summons from a demon from hell, struck fear into Serena Yardley’s heart.
She had to admit, she was scared.
Her voice trembled as she spoke. "You must have misunderstood sothing. I barely know Gabriel Galloway."
"You dare say you don’t know him well?"
Quentin Montgory snarled, grabbing Serena Yardley’s chin. "Don’t know him well?" he said, his voice dripping with venom. "Then why did you two go to Benton together? If you don’t know him well, why is he chasing after you every single day? You think I don’t know?"
Serena Yardley quickly shook her head, explaining, "He’s the one who insists on following . What can I do about it?"
"If you didn’t give him opportunities, why would he be following you?"
Serena Yardley felt utterly blaless. Realizing the danger she was in, she tearfully begged:
"I want to get rid of him too, but he just won’t leave alone.
Please, sir, just let go. I promise I’ll go ho and stay there. I won’t see him. I’ll never have anything to do with him again for the rest of my life, okay?"
Quentin Montgory stared coldly at the woman before him.
Seeing her pitiful state, he found he couldn’t bring himself to hurt her.
She wasn’t his target.
But he hadn’t yet achieved his objective.
Turning around, Quentin Montgory took out his phone and placed a video call to Gabriel Galloway.
Gabriel answered almost imdiately, unleashing a torrent of curses the mont the call connected.
"Quentin Montgory, what the fuck is your problem? When are you going to stop? No matter what you do, I’m not going back with you, so you can just give up on that idea."
Quentin Montgory nonchalantly cleaned out his ear and snorted, his face cold. "Don’t be so quick to draw conclusions. First, take a look at who’s sitting over here."
He turned the cara toward Serena Yardley.
When Gabriel Galloway saw that Serena Yardley had been kidnapped by Quentin Montgory, he roared in a panic:
"Quentin Montgory, are you insane? Why did you kidnap her?"
Quentin Montgory turned the cara back to himself, settled into his executive chair, and said with an air of casual amusent:
"Oh, nothing much. I was just bored, so I kidnapped soone for fun."
Gabriel Galloway was frantic. He started running outside while shouting, "Quentin Montgory, if you dare lay a finger on her, I’ll kill you!"
"Don’t be in such a rush. I haven’t even given you the address yet. What’s the point of running?"
Hearing this, Gabriel Galloway stopped in his tracks and demanded, "Where are you right now?"
"First, answer . Are you coming back with or not?"
"Quentin Montgory, don’t you dare hurt her! She’s one of Ethan Yardley’s people. You know who Ethan Yardley is. He’ll kill you."
"I don’t give a damn who Ethan Yardley is. The only reason you won’t co back with is because of that woman, so she’s the one I’m going to take it out on.
Think carefully. Either you co back with , or tonight I’ll have my n... deal with her."
’Although soone had drugged her and delivered her right to him.’
’He didn’t even know who that person was.’
’But since she’d been delivered right to his doorstep, he had to make good use of the opportunity.’
"Fine, fine! I promise I’ll go back with you. But first, just let take her ho safely, okay?"
’He was terrified that Quentin Montgory was depraved enough to actually hurt Serena Yardley. If Ethan Yardley blad him for it and his sister got dragged into the ss, that would be a disaster.’
’It was just a matter of going back. Fine, he’d go back.’
"Fine. Warehouse seven on Starwheel Street. Co on over."
Quentin Montgory hung up and gestured to the n beside him. "Watch her. When Gabriel Galloway gets here, tie him up and then let her go."
The two bodyguards nodded in understanding and stood beside Serena Yardley, watching her.
Quentin Montgory turned and left, heading to the entrance to wait for Gabriel Galloway.
Serena Yardley didn’t know how long she’d been tied up, or even what ti it was.
She was so tired.
It was probably the effect of the knockout drug she’d been sprayed with. Her whole body felt sore and weak, and an excruciating pain was building in her abdon.
She looked weakly at the bodyguards beside her and cried out, "Can you please untie ? My stomach hurts."
The two bodyguards remained stern-faced and unmoved.
Sweat beaded on Serena Yardley’s forehead from the pain. She spoke again:
"I... I’m pregnant. It’s really painful being tied up like this. I just woke up after being drugged, and I don’t know if the drug will affect my baby... Please, just untie . I promise I won’t run."
Seeing how pale Serena Yardley’s face was, one of the bodyguards went to inform his boss.
Reaching the warehouse entrance, the bodyguard stood behind Quentin Montgory and reported:
"Boss, the girl says she’s pregnant. She says her stomach hurts and wants us to untie her."
Quentin Montgory snorted. "And you believe a little girl’s tricks?"
"..."
"Make her stay put. We’ll let her go as soon as Gabriel Galloway arrives. She won’t have to suffer for much longer."
The bodyguard understood and returned to the warehouse.
Serena Yardley was in so much pain she felt she might pass out. But she was tied up and couldn’t move a muscle. She tilted her head back in agony as large beads of sweat stread from her hairline.
Terrified that sothing was happening to her baby, she cried out again to the two bodyguards:
"Please, let go! My stomach really, really hurts! There’s sothing wrong with the drug you used on ! Get to a hospital, quickly!"
The two bodyguards still ignored her.
Seeing that her pleas had no effect and that she couldn’t move, Serena Yardley could only endure the tearing pain in her abdon, tilt her head back, and pray in agony.
’Please, let my baby be okay.’
’If I can just get through this and keep my baby safe, I’ll tell Ethan I’m pregnant as soon as I get back.’
’I really hope God helps save this baby.’
’But it hurts so much.’
’It’s unbearable.’
She could even feel a liquid trickling down between her legs.
Serena Yardley lowered her head. When she saw the bright red blood seeping through her jeans, she froze in shock, and fat tears stread from her eyes.
