"Oh wait. Now that you ntioned humans. I rember sothing."
Pala looked at Ecles with raised brows, and then she took a look at the closing wound on Ecles’ back.
"What can you rember, Ecles?" She asked.
"There were so humans with the rebels... There were other races but I didn’t know them.... But all of them had similar auras to you guys."
Pala gave a light smile, "How is our aura to you?"
Ecles furrowed her brows with a pondering expression. "I can’t explain it. But I think it’s because you guys don’t have the scent of tals on you. Your presence feels... abnormal. And I think it’s the sa thing for those people too."
Pala looked at Corey, but Corey had a slight frown on his face as he looked at a particular direction.
Pala also looked in the sa direction, and her eyes flashed with a dangerous glint for a mont before she looked back at the Ecles.
"Can you tell us about the... rebels that nearly killed you? Why did they capture you? And what do they want with you?"
Ecles looked in the direction which Corey was looking at but she saw nothing and sensed nothing.
A confused expression appeared on her face and she looked at Pala.
"What’s wrong? Why is he looking at that place?"
Pala smiled and stroked her long silver hair. "It’s nothing, Ecles. Just answer my question. Why were you captured? And what do they want with you?"
Ecles glanced at Corey for a mont before shifting her gaze back to Pala.
"The rebels are those that want to disobey the orders of the ancestors and elders. Instead of staying in our world and not interacting with Outsiders and other races, they want to explore the universe. They want to bring back the past glory we once had."
Ecles furrowed her brows slightly as she recalled what she had been taught. "Their goal is to establish we, the Silver Elves, as one of the most powerful race in the Universe. But the royal family and several nobles don’t want that."
"After we arrived here, I heard rumors of the rebels wanting to take over your world and kill everybody on it. I don’t know much since I’m still just a little girl."
She blinked innocently, and Pala was instantly attacked by her cuteness. She smiled and could not stop herself from pulling Ecles’ cheeks, much to Ecles’ discomfort and slight pain.
"Sorry. I couldn’t help myself."
Ecles looked at Pala with aggrieved eyes as she rubbed her cheeks while muttering. "I don’t know whose worse. You or big sis."
Pala chuckled, and then she rubbed Ecles’ cheeks. The sting she was feeling dissipated as Pala used a healing skill on her.
"See. All better."
Ecles rubbed her cheeks in surprise, and then she looked at Pala for a few seconds before nodding.
"You’re better than big sis. At least you make my cheeks better."
Pala rubbed her head. "Continue, Ecles."
"Hmm." She nodded. "My mother wants us to have a peaceful negotiation with you guys since our world is... no more."
Ecles had a sullen expression as she recalled everything she knew about her world. Because she had only been born for five years, what she knew was little compared to the Silver Elves, but she could feel a strange pain and loss that seed to originated from her heart.
"Ecles." Pala’s voice drifted into her ears, and she wiped away the tear that threatened to fall from the corner of her eyes.
"Hmm... My mother does not want us to have a fight with you guys for so reason I can’t understand since you guys seem weak."
Kiefer, Selene, and Willow all looked at Ecles with raised brows, but Ecles rely looked back with an innocent and curious expression.
"We’re weak? What about him?"
Pala smiled as she pointed at Corey who had his arms folded with an indifferent expression.
Ecles frowned deeply and looked at Corey with a suspicious gaze. "He’s the strange one. I should have killed him back then, but he stopped my attack with a finger even though he’s weaker than ."
"Then that ans he’s not weak." Pala chuckled softly. "But I’m stronger though."
Ecles had an extrely confused expression as she alternated her gaze from Pala to Corey.
"But. But.... I understand you being stronger than him since you clearly feel stronger. But how was he able to stop my attack and not die?"
Corey’s lips twitched when he saw Ecles pointing at him with a truly baffled expression. He saw that Pala was about to engage in Ecles’ pointless conversation, and he could not help but exhale with a tired expression.
"Pala. We have company."
"I know." Pala looked at him with raised brows. "But can’t you handle them? Or do I have to help you?"
Corey’s lips twitched ever so slightly, and although he had a lot of things to say, he chose not to.
Instead, he turned to his right and looked at Kiefer, Selene, and Willow.
"There are two Tier 6s, three Tier 5s, and four Tier 4s... The three of you are going to fight the Tier 5s. I’ll handle the Tier 4s and Tier 6s."
Pala raised a brow when she heard Corey’s words. "Are you sure about that? They’re Silver Elves, and they’re not your average Tier 5 humans."
Corey’s nodded slightly. "If they want to experience true growth, they have to fight stronger opponents. The first clash that takes place in a battle is in one’s mind... If you believe that you cannot win or that you have no chance, then the chances of you winning that battle is extrely slim."
"I used to find it difficult battling Tier 6s as a Tier 3, but now... I don’t see them as a threat because I’ve fought enough of them to not be afraid of them."
"They need the sa thing."
Corey then looked at Pala. "Besides, didn’t you teach them? Why do you have so little faith in them?"
