Jeremy, Caesar, Matias, Elizabeth, and Rorik instantly went into their usual formation that was ingrained in their very souls.
Jeremy’s sword, Aurelius, was unsheathed as he stood in front of his friends with a solemn expression.
Rorik stood beside him with an excited gleam in his eyes. In his hands was his massive greataxe that was just a tad smaller than Corey’s Genesis Armant.
"This is what I wanted from the start. Not all that peaceful and serene nonsense. Let taste your blood." Rorik licked his lips, and his gaze was like that of a feral predator that wanted nothing more than to pounce on the snakes.
"You fool. Have you forgotten that their blood is most likely toxic? Look at it. It’s silver."
Caesar called out from behind while bringing out a silver pistol that looked like a desert eagle from his cost.
He stood directly beside Elizabeth who was at the back of the group with a staff in her hands, and her lips muttering incomprehensible words.
Three seconds later, her hair turned white with streaks of gold at the tip.
"I’m ready." She said with a solemn expression that hid the pain in her eyes, and Jeremy nodded.
Bang!
A silver-gold shield the size of Matias appeared before him and slamd on the ground with imnse force. From the impact on the ground, it showed just how heavy the shield was, but Matias carried it with one hand, making it seem like the shield was as light as a feather.
"I’m ready. Make sure to stay behind ." He said while standing directly in front of Elizabeth and Caesar.
Jeremy looked at Elizabeth, Caesar, and Matias, and then he nodded. He shifted his gaze to Corey, Pala, Selene, Willow, and Kiefer, who were standing behind Elizabeth and Caesar.
His gaze landed on Kiefer, and a worried frown erged on his face.
"Will you guys be able to watch our backs? There are two Tier 6s over there."
Corey raised a brow when he realized that Jeremy was speaking to him.
He glanced around for a second, and then he shrugged despite the fact that they were all surrounded by the green gigantic snakes that had jagged thorns on their backs, and crystal erald eyes.
"Of course, we can watch your backs. Just make sure you don’t die. You also have two Tier 6s over there."
Jeremy nodded, and then he raised his sword.
"You guys-"
Sigh
A sigh suddenly drifted into everybody’s ears, and Jeremy, Corey, and every other person looked at the source.
Pala.
"I don’t have ti for this."
Jeremy was taken aback. anwhile, Corey frowned.
"Let’s end this, and make so true progress."
Pala raised her left hand, and Corey could see runes swirling around her hand and the snakes themselves.
To the others, what they saw was just a swirling light, and in the next mont, the grassy plains they were in, the plains which was the ho of these beasts turned against them and beca dangerous and hostile towards them.
The grass strengthened and elongated in the blink of an eye, and then they wrapped themselves around the snakes, mainly cutting off their oxygen and blood flow.
The sound of bones cracking apart and hisses of pain could be heard from the snakes, and the expressions of everybody changed slightly when they could see how the snakes were struggling and were also in pain.
So seconds later, death relieved them of their pain and suffering, and all the snakes fell limply to the ground.
And there was silence, which was then disturbed by the rustling of the grass which went back to normal.
Corey, Jeremy, and the others had stunned expressions as they stared at the dozens of snake corpses that littered the ground.
"So of them were Tier 6s. Are Tier 6s a joke to her?" Elizabeth mumbled with a stunned expression, and Pala smiled.
She raised her hand slightly. "Sorry for making you to see sothing... unsightly. I don’t like to make animals suffer, but using fire or ice in this sort of environnt would make it easy for other beasts and competitors to notice us. So I had to do that."
Everybody beca silent, and then they watched as the greenish silver mana carried all the corpses except for one in front of Pala.
"Since I didn’t kill that one. I’m leaving it for him. I’m going to take these ones I killed myself."
Corey’s left eye twitched when he saw Pala giving him a triumphant smile.
Pala pointed her fist at the pile of corpses in front of her, and Corey noticed how a particular ring on one of her fingers was emitting a subtle glow.
’She has a storage ring? Now that I think about it, I also had one. What ever happened to it? Has it been buried in the ruins of the Underworld? Or did that Underworld Official take it for himself and survive?’
A curious light flashed in Corey’s eyes as he watched the pile of corpses get sucked into Pala’s storage ring.
’Since she’s using a storage ring instead of her system inventory. Does that an that she knows about the system inventory is not safe? But how?
Corey furrowed his brows slightly, and then he shifted his gaze to Jeremy, Caesar, Elizabeth, Rorik, and Matias.
He could see all of them having frowns on their faces, and he instantly knew why.
’Since it’s obvious that she does not want to share whatever she kills herself, which is fair in my opinion, the others would start having second thoughts about this alliance at the mont.’
’Pala is extrely stronger than them, and if she decides to kill and take whatever beast or enemy they encounter together, none of them would be able to gain much from this expedition.’
’Unlike , the others need soul crystal to get stronger. Without the corpses of these powerful beasts which is a rare opportunity since beasts this powerful are not so common on New Earth.’
’But as I was saying, without these corpses, they would get no soul stone and no other body part of the beasts which are very useful especially to a growing kingdom like the Kingdom of Miracles.’
’It’s either they kick Pala out of the team or Pala leaves of her volition. Because if this doesn’t happen, there will be disagreents and discontention amongst the group.’
Corey looked at the smiling Pala who was rubbing her storage ring with an affectionate look.
He raised a brow slightly. ’Surely, she knows this too, right?’
