"Those eyes."

As Corey stood beside the crown of bones in a hundred ter radius that was devoid of any walking dead, Death spoke.

Corey’s head moved, and his glowing Tri-Pupil Eyes stared at Death who was hovering in the air while sitting on his throne.

Corey furrowed his brows slightly when he heard the Old One’s words and the surprise, disbelief, and suspicion in his voice.

Death frowned deeply as he stared at Corey’s eyes.

"So I saw correctly. Those eyes. Why do you have those eyes, mortal?"

The frown on Corey’s face reduced, and his expression beca expressionless.

Death’s frown deepened. "Why do you have the eyes of a Paragon, mortal? Are you a Paragon?"

Corey stared at Death for a few seconds, and then he shrugged with a light smile.

"Who knows?"

Death remained silent for so seconds, and then he looked up.

"The senses and abilities of this wretched body limits greatly which is why I didn’t sense it or notice it imdiately.*"

Death looked at Corey.

"I almost made a terrible mistake." He smiled. "I was planning on killing you by ripping you apart limb by limb, but no. Your body is far too precious for to just destroy."

Death leaned forward slightly, and then he licked his lips. Corey could literally see and taste the hunger, greed, and desire that was emanating from the Old One.

It was extrely foul to his senses.

"Since you’re a Paragon, a lot of things make sense, and it’s also not a surprise that you have the aura of another Old One on you. You might have been marked by another Old One, but I don’t care."

"For I am Death, and I shall take whatever I want to take. No one, not even the heavens shall stop ."

Every single walking dead howled, and a heavy and cold gust of wind blew across the Dying City, causing Corey and every living being to feel a chill in their souls.

Corey looked around with a solemn expression, and the voice of Death drifted into his ears.

"Everything you possess is mine."

With an extrely loud howl that caused a powerful shockwave, every single walking dead ran toward him in fury.

Corey’s expression hardened, and his Genesis Armant appeared in his right hand.

Three Tier 5 undeads were the first to reach him, and Corey’s hand beca a blur.

The world thrumd, and sharp lights appeared on the bodies of the three undeads. Their bodies combusted into azure-violet-silver flas, and their bowls of fury and madness beca one of pain.

More undeads rushed towards Corey. The majority of them were Tier 4s. The minority were Tier 5s. And there were also Tier 3s mixed into them.

Dozens and hundreds attacked him with each second that passed, and he slaughtered them all with a terrifying and brutal efficiency.

The Tier 3s could not even co close to him because of the poison he exuded from his body and his Phantom Plague Axe Heart Intent which transford the energies of the world around him into his intent.

The Mystic undeads could survive for a few monts before being shredded into pieces, but the Tier 3s could not handle his intent in the slightest.

The Tier 4s barely lasted three exchanges before he cut them into pieces, and the Tier 5s were either bound by Noxious Chains before he split them into two, or they were bombarded with elental spells that could interrupt their attacks.

Thousands of walking dead fell around him in less than a minute, and Corey could have continued this battle indefinitely if not for the fact that he was not only fighting to protect himself, but to prevent the walking dead from touching the crown in the slightest.

There were tis were he had to quickly switch places with an undead that was about to touch the crown just to make sure that none could so much as touch the crown.

As difficult as this sounded, Corey knew that he could continue doing this for an hour or two at most if there was no surprises.

But that was just wishful thinking.

He could feel the auras of more than ten Tier 6 undeads approaching from the back of the horde of walking dead, and he knew that he would not be able to deal with the Tier 6s so easily as he did with the lower tiered undeads.

’I need to move.’

Corey thought, and then he threw his axe in a direction that had more undeads.

Hundreds of undeads fell in two as his Genesis Armant cut them with ease.

Without even bothering to look at the result of his attack, he slamd his hands on the ground, and a magical formation appeared around him.

"Erupt."

A wall of flas surged around him, and the Tier 3 and Tier 4 undeads around him were burnt to a crisp.

As for the Tier 5 undeads, they howled in pain, and this should not be possible because the flas were not Dreamfire which seed to be the bane of all things death and corrupt.

However, these flas were not just normal powerful flas. They were flas that had been mixed with the forbidden power, Painful Echo.

And this made the walking dead to feel pain when they were not ant to feel pain.

After creating a wall of fire around him, he saw a Tier 6 undead suddenly appear from the wall of fire, and it was reaching out to the crown.

Corey’s eyes beca cold, and he pointed two fingers in the direction of the crown and flung them up.

Before the undead could touch the crown, the ground beneath the crown rose, and a massive pillar that reached into the sky appeared.

On top of the pillar was the crown, and Corey teleported beside the crown of black bones.

’If I could carry it or bring it into my Tri-Pupil Eyes, that would be great. But my instincts are warning against doing any of these two.’

He looked at Death with narrowed eyes.

’I need to kill him.’

Just as Corey had this thought, Death suddenly spoke.

"Do you think the Earth has the authority to carry Death?"
