After deliberating for nearly thirty seconds on the skill book, Umbraweave- Art of Shadow Manipulation, he decided to shift his attention to the last reward.

----

6. [Ashen Key of the Hollow Sun]

A half-burned, half-lted key that was forged from the remnant bones of the calamity of a forgotten epoch of Virendell.

A silent relic once held by the Hollow Creed. Its surface bears no markings, yet it burns cold.

No one knows what it opens.

But it was once believed by the leaders of the Hollow Creed that the key could open the gates to the kingdom of their god.

But the truth remains buried.

He had spent a total of forty seconds deliberating on each reward, and he only had twenty seconds left before he could no longer make a choice.

Although so of the previous rewards were enticing, he knew that no matter what, he was going to choose the sixth reward that was given to him by the Universal System.

The Ashen Key of the Hollow Sun

The description was more of a mystery than a description, and Corey could ask so many questions from the description the Universal System gave him alone.

Questions like...

What was the calamity of the forgotten epoch of Virendell?

What was the forgotten epoch of Virendell?

What does it an to be a silent relic?

What is the correlation between the Hollow Sun and the Hollow Creed?

Was the Hollow Sun referred to as the Hollow Creed?

Or are they different?

Or could the Hollow Sun be the god of the Hollow Creed.

Corey could ask himself all these questions, and he knew that if he wanted all the answers, it would take ti.

Ti he did not have at the mont.

’I’ll just instruct my Stars of Consciousness to go through the books I have in to look out for key words like calamities and the forgotten epoch.’

’Besides, this is the second ti I’m hearing of a calamity of Virendell... The colossal shadow was called a fragnt of the Thirteenth Calamity of Virendell. Which ans there were twelve previous calamities... Maybe more.’

’As for the function...’

Corey’s gaze moved to another part of the screen.

----

Function: Unknown

----

’Unknown... It’s just like the Key of Death.’

’... I wonder if the two have a correlation... No... I wonder how both keys are connected. Because they’re definitely connected.’

Corey’s eyes flashed with a pondering and calculating light as he stared at the translucent golden screens before him.

His gaze went to the red tir that was on a completely different screen to his left.

00:08

’Eight seconds left huh.’

He exhaled softly, and then his fingers moved.

He tapped on the screens before him, and chose his two rewards. He received a confirmation ssage, and he tapped yes once again.

The screens vanished.

’Ashen Key of the Hollow Sun and Dawnsplit Fang.’

Corey exhaled deeply once again as he thought about the decision he made.

The last two contenders that tugged at his mind was Umbraweave- Art of Shadow Manipulation, and Dawnsplit Fang.

Although a part of him felt that he was losing out on an opportunity to not only gain more power but to also gain his past life’s mories.

However, he still stood by his decision to not choose the reward.

If he was fated to get the ability to manipulate shadows, he would get another opportunity that would not seem so suspicious.

And as for his mories?

He had a feeling that he would be able to recover his past life mories as he got stronger, and if his past life had set up a plan or series of steps for him to recover his mories, then he would surely encounter them.

Besides, he was pretty certain that his current potential was way higher than the peak his past life attained.

’I seriously doubt my past life was as strong as the Paragon Ancestor and the Supre Ancestor... Maybe he could be compared to an Old One?’

Corey shook his head with a wry smile.

’What am I even saying? I don’t even know how strong the Paragon Ancestor and Supre Ancestor are, talk less of an Old One.’

Corey’s mind went back to the rewards he chose. More specifically, the Dawnsplit Fang.

Although most would call him foolish for choosing the Dawnsplit Fang since he had other powerful weapons, he had a reason for doing that.

He had a goal. A dream he had been envisioning ever since he had been in the Underworld.

He wanted to craft his personal weapon.

A weapon that would only be for him, and would be extrely unique.

He had way too many weapons for just two hands.

The Ancient Spear, The Demonic Sabers, the Dual Black Battle Axes given to him by the Paragon Ancestor, his Genesis Armant, and so on.

Battles and wars would be waged for even just one of the weapons he had.

Was it the Ancient Spear?

Was it the Demonic Sabers?

Was it the Dual Black Battle Axes?

Was it his Genesis Armant?

Just one was enough for an elite organization of the universe to wage wars for, but Corey had four of these weapons.

And the problem he had with them, was that he could not use them all at the sa ti.

He always used his Genesis Armant because it was his strongest weapon at the mont, but he also knew that his other weapons had extrely high potential.

And if he wanted to utilize them to their fullest, he needed to use them. Not allow them to rust and gather dust in his Tri-Pupil Eyes.

Although that was not possible.

But he couldn’t use all the weapons he had, unless he wanted to fight a battle every single day using one weapon in every battle.

But once again, he couldn’t do this.

It was not efficient.

So he ca up with an idea. A goal. A dream. To create his perfect weapon.

But for that to happen, he would need to use all his current weapons as key materials in the creation of his perfect weapon, and the Dawnsplit Fang had sothing that made him want to use it as a key material in the creation of his weapon.

’If the Dawnsplit Fang didn’t have that, I would have never chosen it since it serves no purpose for whatsoever. I have better weapons.’

’I would have chosen Umbraweave- Art of Shadow Manipulation if not for that... Hopefully, I don’t co to regret my decision.’

Corey looked up, and then the sound of a system notification echoed in his ears and mind.

Ding.
