[Death’s Key]
A rusted key proclaid to have been dropped from Death when he road reality. What it does is completely unknown.
----
The last reward was sothing Corey didn’t expect at all because it dealt with Death, a being he suspected was an Old One.
A being he suspected was the reason behind the current state of Virendell.
The description of Death’s Key was not helpful in any way to him, and the only thing it did for him was assuring him that the key was truly Death’s.
He had no idea if Death was truly an Old One or if he was just a step below the level of the Paragon Ancestor, or maybe he was at the sa level of the Paragon Ancestor.
He had no idea, and he could not bla himself because the concept of Death being alive, being able to roam the world was sothing he could not wrap his head around.
He had no idea if the being the Universal System was calling Death was truly Death itself, or if it was just a title the being had.
He had so many questions, and he felt that the answers to his questions were beyond him... Terribly beyond him.
In the description, Corey noticed sothing else which caught his attention.
The word- Reality.
The Universal System did not state that Death road the Universe. No. It stated that Death road reality, and Corey could not help but wonder if there was sothing extra to that.
He knew that he might just be overthinking it. But he also knew that he might have caught onto sothing... Sothing that 99% of the entire population of the Universe possibly had no idea of.
Was Reality larger than the Universe?
Or was Reality a place itself.
These were the two main questions he had regarding the word- Reality.
’Or the Universal System ant the Universe was Reality.’
Corey furrowed his brows slightly in thought, and then he looked up. His pure white eyes reflected the sight of the red stars of the Trial Realm.
A flicker appeared in his eyes.
’I should always keep an open mind no matter what.’
’So on New Earth believe that our planet is the limit. They believe that the strongest one can ever get is the power to destroy the world.’
’And there might be so that believe that galaxy sectors are the limit.’
’And there might be so that believe that a galaxy is the limit.’
’And there are so that believe the Universe is the limit... Well, a lot of people believe that since we have the Universal System.’
’But I have to always keep an open mind that there’s always sothing higher. There’s always sothing above the peak that I can see.’
’... There might even be sothing above the Paragon Ancestor and the Supre Ancestor.’
Corey exhaled softly as he had this thought.
He swiped his hand at the translucent screen before him, and then it vanished.
Although more than a minute had gone by from the mont he was asked to pick his rewards, he had made his decision a long ti ago.
In less than ten seconds to be exact.
He gazed at his injuries, and he saw that a lot of it were healed.
The burns on his skin were healed through Dream Healing, and so were his broken fingers and damaged Celestial Mana Veins that were as a result of him using so much power at a go.
The cracks along his right arm were no more, and the injury to his lung which was caused by a remnant attack of Eidolon, was healed.
’I still have internal injuries, but I’m back to 85%.’
Corey looked around him, and he took his ti to take in the effect of his battle against Eidolon did to the surroundings.
His surroundings was silent, truly silent to the point that Corey had a feeling that the Dying City itself was shocked at his feats.
Fissures ran deep into the ground, and Corey could so buildings and objects barely hanging at the edge of the fissure. However, so fell after so monts passed.
Not only were buildings and objects entering the fissure, blood could be seen slowly flowing into the fissure.
tallic debris, the lted remains of Eidolon’s clones, and faint sparks of lighting were scattered everywhere.
And the sll... It was like the scent of sothing burnt and sothing that was also decomposing at the sa ti.
It was truly disgusting, and if not for the nigh-perfect control he had over his body, he might have been retching his insides by now.
And the corpse of Eidolon was slowly being devoured by his Maledro’s Gu.
Then, Corey turned.
He increased the output of his Eyes of Omniscience, and a second later, he saw them.
The Thirteenth Dawn.
Kieran. Myra. Aelric. Zeke. Rhys. And Yara.
They were more than two kiloters away from him, but he could still see their bodies and conditions.
Their bodies were lying above a pile of rubbles and debris that had once been part of what Corey assud was a restaurant.
Although they were alive, what he saw made Corey pause.
Kieran’s leg was fractured in three places, and his arms were curled around Myra’s unconscious body protectively. The veins in his neck still shimred with remnant energy, and Corey instantly knew that Kieran was trying to regulate his mana because he had overtaxed his mana veins.
Just like him.
Unfortunately for him, he did not possess Celestial Mana Veins like him.
The chances of him living was low.
Myra looked pale. Her breathing was shallow, and her mana core had multiple fractures. Her soul aura was also flickering, and this made Corey frown.
From what he could see, he guessed that Myra had tried to conjure up a last-second defense, but it had nearly destroyed her from within.
Aelric was also unconscious. But more than that, his mana veins had been seared. He also had a clean diagonal scar that ran across his chest, and Corey instantly knew that the scar was from the aftermath of the energy wave that was released between him and Eidolon.
’He’s lucky he’s alive. If his constitution was a tad weaker, he would have died.’
Corey shifted his gaze to Rhys.
Rhys was face-down in a pool of blood, and though it seed like he was dead, he was alive.
His entire back had been lacerated with shards, and his bones were misaligned. He would survive... but not without help.
Yara was next to him.
One of her legs was mangled, twisted the wrong way, and her face was covered in dried blood. She was also unconscious, but she was going to survive even without help.
Corey then looked at the last mber of the Thirteenth Dawn, and he was slightly surprised when he saw that Zeke was not unconscious, but was standing.
He was barely standing, but he was standing nevertheless.
One of his arms was missing from the elbow down, and Corey could see lots of broken bones in his body.
He was leaning heavily on a debris that was bigger than him, and his eyes were wide with pain, but still watchful.
