A Throne

A book

And a beating heart

These three objects would catch the attention of anybody, and it did the sa for Corey.

His instincts were not warning him of danger, and he could not feel the presence of any living organism in the hall he was in.

The beating heart.

Corey's attention was entirely on the beating heart because it was extrely unique.

The heart did not beat like usual hearts. Instead, it pulsed slowly and floated with a presence that was ancient... extrely ancient.

Its surface shimred with liquid gold and dusk colour, along with swirling patterns of ever-shifting runes that was constantly appearing and disappearing. Corey tried to study and analyze the runes, but the runes were extrely strange.

The mont he understood a rune and tried to move into another rune, he would realize to his disbelief that he had forgotten the rune he studied and understood.

This continued severally, and a chill perated his entire body and soul when he rellzed that no matter what he did, he was always forgetting.

With how unique his mind and soul were, forgetting things was sothing that was not easy for Corey even if he wanted to forget them.

However, no matter what he did, he was always forgetting the runes he understood.

'What type of power is this?' Corey thought in disbelief.

The heart itself was translucent, as if it was made from the most beautiful crystal Corey had ever seen. Within it was a churning mist of colorless flas.

Instead of arteries, the heart had threads of dark light that twitched faintly, as if in search of a body it could belong to.

As Corey gazed at the heart, his Ears of Omniscience twitched as he heared sothing different from the heart.

With every beat that he heard, he felt it deep inside his soul and it triggered a feeling of sorrow in his soul.

Every pulse whispered sothing different.

It was either a na he once knew but pushed to the back of his mind.

A dream he swore to never forget before the apocalypse, but eventually forgot as he went through life.

And his mother's voice.

Corey knew, he completely knew that his mind and body were being influenced by the heart, but it was just too powerful.

Way too powerful for him to fight back.

After obtaining his Cosmic Soul and awakening his Stars of Consciousness, his mind had been enhanced to a ridiculous degree, and he rarely, and he ant rarely forgot anything.

In fact, mories he forgot before the apocalypse were all rembered by him.

However, the heart was making him to recall mories he had pushed deep into his mind.

Caw!

A loud caw echoed in the throne room, and Rhea shot out of Corey's chest. Corey shook the mont Rhea shot out of his chest. He blinked nurous tis before looking at Rhea who was flying in front of his face.

She made sure that Corey could not see the heart, and the mont Corey noticed this, he grabbed her and turned away from the heart.

"Thanks a lot. You really saved there."

Corey smiled, but Rhea slapped his head, stunning Corey.

"Caw."

Rhea pointed at the throne, and Corey frowned.

"You want to look at the heart again?"

"Caw." Rhea nodded.

"Haven't you forgotten what happened when I looked at the heart?"

Corey asked with a baffled expression but Rhea pointed at the throne once again.

"Caw!"

Corey furrowed his brows, and then he turned. Although he had no idea why Rhea was telling him to turn and look at the heart she just prevented him from looking at, he knew he had to look because of the way she was reacting. He just decided to be careful and cautious of any changes to his mind. The mont Corey's gaze landed on the heart, his pupils constricted. Sitting on the armrest of the throne with its legs crossed was a figure made out of mist, and the mont Corey's eyes landed on the figure, his fight or flight mode activated.

Without hesitation, he jumped as far away as possible from the figure, the throne, and the heart with his own heart beating extrely loudly.

His Genesis Armant appeared in his hands, and Corey's mana was prid to fight at that mont. However, his body was extrely tense.

For a being to stay so close without him knowing sent extre chills across his

body.

His senses and instincts were so perceptive to the point that even so Immortals would fall short of his perception.

If there was anybody that could appear close to him without even his instincts warning him, then that ant the person was far stronger than him.

So strong to the point that his instincts could not even fathom the level of

danger the person had.

"Hmm... You're... extrely unique... Not exactly what I expected."

Just as Corey was furiously thinking about what to do, the being spoke, and

Corey found himself relaxing.

No

That was wrong.

I'm slowly forgetting why I'm so cautious and wary around it!"

'What sort of power is this?!"

Corey's pupils constricted, and he tried his hardest to recall, to rember, and

to not forget the reason why he's so wary around the strange being.

However, he failed.

He slowly started easing up.

"You have a powerful and unique mind... For sobody of your level..."

... Maybe that's why you were able to look at my heart for so long without losing anything so quickly."

The figure looked at the beating heart beside it, and when Corey realized that he was beginning to calm down because of the strange power of the being, he

quickly asked.

"Who are you? And what do you want?"

"My heart is a heart that rembers everything reality had chosen to forget." "To look upon it for too long is to forget your own na."

"To hold it... is to beco sothing that should never be rembered." The being spoke with a tone that was filled with pain and sadness, but Corey

gritted his teeth and spoke.

"Your na."

The being glanced at Corey, and then a powerful pulse that shook the throne room, space and ti, and caused Corey to almost cough out a mouthful of

blood.

"My na is Prince Zakar'el Eron'Lethe... The last prince of the Letherions."
