Chapter 62: Scouting Wild Goblins!

Luka shook his head, knowing Galatea probably couldn’t fully accept his words or the fact that he would appear to abandon his steed.

’Damn it!’

Galatea was right, but he couldn’t admit it.

Right now was an extrely important ti, thus he could only swallow the agonising lump of sourness lodged in his throat.

"Y-You!?" She gasped before a large hand slapped her shoulder.

"Calm it, we’re here to save the Amol Warriors, don’t be throwing that away for the sake of a single horse."

Though Brea’s words carried a hint of reluctance, her strong, natural tone made it hard for those who didn’t know her or lacked the emotional clarity to notice.

"Woo..."

Luvia’s long brown ears bounced twice, then she glanced in the direction the horse vanished, while even Reina whimpered.

"Forget it." She added, petting the black wolf. "He won’t give up on her so easily." Her eyes shone with a golden light, words holding a strangely convincing power. "If he did that to save , I don’t believe it..."

Vaun’s smaller pale ears flickered beneath her headwrap, her eyes locked on Luka.

Nevertheless, Galatea couldn’t understand or hear her subtle compassion.

"W-Who are you to tell

that?!"

She dragged her shoulder away from Brea and strode into the forest, holding the reins of her horse, stomping in the sticky mud with loud squelches.

"Galatea!" He shouted.

Luka shook his head, wanting to follow, but he felt the burning eyes of his n, Brea, and the others always locked on his actions.

If he selfishly chose to follow her now, would they understand?

No one knew the true aning of Galatea to him, but at the sa ti, he swore a promise to Luka and couldn’t break that promise.

’Forgive .’

Once again, he swore to search the forest over to find Furia after defeating the goblin shaman and bringing Iris over to his side permanently.

"Let’s go, we have to start picking up the pace."

He reached out for Furia’s reins before pausing halfway, glancing at his hand, and pulling it back to his chest and continued speaking with a harsher tone.

"I won’t tolerate any more useless interruptions"

The people followed his desolate figure without speaking.

...

Inside the murky forest, Luka used the fake oblivion to cut down thick vines and purple plants, guiding them onto the hunting path.

"Hah!"

With a clean arc, his blade sliced through a deford blue vine, revealing an animal trail leading further north.

His gaze lingered on the plant that grew the vines before he shook his head.

’I’m not here to destroy this forest.’

He tried to avoid destroying the plant’s main body, allowing it to continue growing after it passed through. His aim was not to destroy the forest, but to nurture and create clear passageways for future training.

"Try not to damage the trees or flowers too much; this place will beco a training ground for our future forces."

"Eh?!" Brea gasped, while Vaun froze for a mont.

"Are you serious?" Luva challenged him as her bare feet tapped against the soft mud, her stealth allowing her to avoid the troubles he and the others faced.

So flowers would instinctively spurt irritating spores, block the path with vines, or even try to eat small animals that passed.

He dragged oblivion free, before resting it on his shoulder, "Of course. What’s wrong?" His eyes bead back at the group, a little confused at their reactions.

"No one, even in the Fallen Lands, would think of using a monster-spawning forest to train their rookie warriors..." Luvia’s voice shifted as she spoke, and, as she finished, her eyes shone as she glanced up at Luka. "It’s quite ingenious..."

’I wish I could take the credit. But the one who ca up with this was...’ His gaze trailed towards the east, where Galatea and Furia vanished. ’Forget it, this is my thod now, and I will be much harsher towards them.’

"Forget it for now, before that we have to survive this long night."

Luvia narrowed her golden eyes with a pretty smile on her lips.

Vaun, on the other hand, shot a sharp glare at the dark elf.

The gap between a Tier 1 monster and a Tier 2 was too huge for most mortals to endure. There was a reason it took armies of thousands to slay monsters in the late stages of Tier 1 or early Tier 2.

A simple screen shone in the corner of his eye as he peeked back at Luvia, who watched him with a strangely enthusiastic smile.

’Strange girl..’

[Tier 1 Monster Total Attributes]

[Early Stage: 50 -> 150]

[Mid Stage: 150 -> 300]

[Late Stage: 300 -> 500]

[Tier 2 Monster Total Attributes]

[Early Stage: 500 -> 650]

[Mid Stage: 650 -> 800]

[Late Stage: 800 -> 1000]

"Too far..." He mumbled before swiping these impossible numbers from his view.

His eyes trailed across Brea, Vaun, Zack, and Luvia.

He bit the tip of his tongue, holding back the imnse pressure growing in his stomach. If the Goblin Shaman was in the Mid Stage, unlike the hobgoblin, barely reaching the early stage of a Tier 1 monster, the casualties could be in the dozens.

"What’s too far?" Brea ignored his feelings and asked with a slight head tilt.

He glanced at her honest and resolute eyes and smiled.

The secrets she held, he wondered when he might learn the truth, and why there was a slight bump in her hairstyle.

"Nothing, I was just complaining. Ignore it."

"Mhm..." her throat sounded, but she did as he asked.

Their party slowly pushed through the forest.

Thanks to the several wolves following, a series of delays was inevitable, which forced them to find a larger opening to break through.

The deeper they went, the darker and more violet the surroundings beca—a thick miasma hung in the air, with a sweet, welcoming scent.

"Be careful! .That sweet scent cos from the mixture of concentrated mana and Miasma." Luka drew his blade before glancing back at the party. "Prepare for combat, there are likely monsters nearby."

Shiing!

The hunters held their shortbows tightly, forming a wide line, with Vaun standing in the centre. She held her black longbow, her silver eyes closed.

"Master, should I go ahead and scout?"

"Master, want

to scout ahead?"

The two elves spoke at the sa ti before slowly turning their heads.

"Who are you to call him Master, Dark Elf!"

"I can say the sa to you, freak!"

When their words clashed, their eyes quickly sharpened as they stared at each other, before each woman snapped back to Luka for an answer.

’Damn, why are they so similar yet annoyingly different?’

"Stop, Luvia, can you enter stealth and if their numbers are less than twenty, help

set up an ambush?"

Luka ignored Vaun’s strange expression and instead focused on Luvia, the woman he couldn’t help but worry about.

If she went too far, then she would die.

The distance increased when they had sex, but it still wasn’t enough to leave more than 1000 tres.

Luvia’s eyes shone brightly as she sneered at Vaun before skipping ahead.

Luka observed her activating her skill.

The flash of her eyes indicated the use of Miasma—green mist flowed around her like a plu of ashes, masking her presence. Soon, even the sound of her deliberate steps faded from a loud squish to a delicate tap, barely louder than a butterfly’s wings.

"Whoa, that’s a high-level skill!?" A hunter gasped.

Brea, however, furrowed her brows and glanced at Luka, who remained calm seeing this sight as she mumbled. "The amazing thing is she didn’t chant or use any focus to enter that state! And, the fact I can’t see her even with my divine eye..."

Luvia shifted through the dirt, her soft breaths barely audible in his ears, as he focused Miasma into his eyes, his pupils shimred with a shade of hot pink.

In this state, he saw the faint outline of green mist, wrapping Luvia’s body like a tightly woven bodysuit.

’Quite amazing, how did she manage to reach this level?’

He could only put it down to the natural skill of a dark elf, being a race born from corruption, allowing them to learn the ways of Miasma easily. Nevertheless, the biggest benefit of dark elves was their ability to learn both types.

Mana and Miasma.

Tap Tap Tap!

A series of footsteps gently crushed the grass beside him, as a soft warmth grasped his shoulder, before her familiar breath blew against his neck.

"Master, the enemy are wild goblins."

He didn’t move and just replied with a calm tone.

"Their numbers?"

Luvia traced her fingertip along his jawline, sothing she seed to have made into a habit after doing it when he lay above her after sex.

"At least thirty, there are no dangerous ones, but the hunters might panic and struggle, so I haven’t lured them yet."

His eyes shifted, glancing at the faint mist beside him.

"I see."

He gently hooked his hand around her waist and lifted her off the ground.

"You did well."

The mont he complinted her, there was a sudden heat on his cheek, along with a faintly moist smack that lasted a few seconds.

"Mhm... thank you, Master."

He released her soft waist.

To his surprise, Luvia remained beside him.

She squatted and stretched her limbs in silence.

He couldn’t help but wonder if this kind of thing excited her, thinking back to her two possible classes. His mind sank into the thought of an assassin maid, who would serve only him, never leave his side, while almost constantly in stealth.

’If she sucked

off in stealth, what would people see...?’

His eyes shifted to Brea and Vaun before finishing his thought there.
