Chapter 40: Gates Of Hell.
Edited by: Mochiusagi
Outside the Shaolin Temple.
Su Qin chose to leave the Shaolin Temple in the early morning to avoid missing his daily Sign In chance.
As long as Su Qin can co back by tomorrow night, he won’t waste any of his chances.
“I wonder what happened to my little sister over the past fifteen years?” Su Qin recalled his little sister following him around.
His little sister is nad Su Yueyun and she is seven years younger than Su Qin.
When Su Qin entered the Shaolin Temple, Su Yueyun was only three years old. Now 15 years later, Su Yueyun should already be 18 years old.
Won in this world can marry at the age of 16, and Su Yueyun being 18 was already considered dragged out and an ‘older age’.
“When I return to the Su Family’s house, there is no need to have a reunion, I’ll just take a quick look…” Su Qin thought silently in his heart.
He has been away from the Su family for fifteen years now and had long been used to living alone.
“However, before I go back, there is sothing I must solve.”
Su Qin suddenly stopped and looked in a certain direction.
Fifteen years ago, a major enemy of the Su Family ca. At that ti, in order to preserve the bloodline of the Su family, all the younger generations of the Su family were scattered around. It was because of this that Su Qin was sent to the Shaolin Temple to begin with. Only by entering the Shaolin Temple and taking shelter there can Su Qin be safe.
Later, although the Su Family used so ans to force the enemy back, the enemy is still alive.
In the past few years, Su Qin has been busy Signing In to improve his strength. Coupled with the fact that everything in the Su Family was out of danger, he ignored the enemy.
But now, he’ll take advantage of this opportunity to completely solve the enemy.
“According to the letters sent by the Su Family over the years, the na of the enemy is ’Yan Huo’, a Demon Sect dísciple, and he recently beca the protector of the Demon Sect.” Su Qin thought. Because of this, the Su Family’s Patriarch was still quite worried in his letter, worrying that this enemy will co back and this ti with the power of the Demon Sect.
“Demon Sect?”
Su Qin’s eyes flashed with coldness.
…
Yong Prefecture.
The Tang Empire controls a total of 18 states, of which Yong Prefecture is where the Demon Sect is.
The Evil, represented by the Demons, are fighting against those on the Righteous side, but ever since the last Demon Sect Sect Master died in secluded cultivation, the battle has been disadvantageous for the Demon Sect.
A few decades ago, Demon Sect occupied three states. But now, as the Righteous continue to squeeze through, the Demon Sect is left with only the Yong Prefecture.
In regards to this battle, the Tang Empire simply turned a blind eye to it and had no intention in interfering.
Whether it was the Righteous or the Demons of the Demon Sect, in the eyes of the Tang Empire, they were just a bunch of insurgents; so the fewer, the better. The Tang Empire even helped fuel the battle.
Currently, Yong Prefecture Southern Witch Mountain.
A young boy wearing a thick cotton-padded coat looked up at the snow in the sky with excitent.
“Grandfather, look it’s snowing…”
The boy ford a snowball and looked towards an old man next to him.
“Yes.”
“Such snow hasn’t appeared in decades.”
The old man’s expression showed that he was reminiscing in mories.
At this mont, a gentle voice suddenly sounded: “Is this Southern Witch Mountain?”
They saw a Monk wearing a gray robe and was looking at the boy with a smile.
This Monk was none other than Su Qin.
The Shaolin Temple was far from the Yong Prefecture, separated by at least several thousands li. It takes at least a few months or even a year, for an ordinary person to cross such a long distance. But for a Martial Artist, it takes only about a month. And for Su Qin, it took only a few hours.
And this is considering that Su Qin had to occasionally stop on the road to see if there was any place nearby where he could Sign In, and wasted so ti. Otherwise, Su Qin would have reached the Yong Prefecture faster.
“Yes.”
“It’s right in front.”
The little boy looked at Su Qin, felt a little strange, but still nodded and said: “Though there is a lot of miasma in Southern Witch Mountain.”
“And…”
When the boy was saying this, he looked around first before cautiously lowering his voice. He said: “Grandfather told that there is a Divine Immortal in Southern Witch Mountain. If you have no business there, don’t get close…”
“Divine Immortal?” Su Qin was taken aback for a mont. But he reacted quickly. The “Divine Immortal” the boy was referring to was probably a Demon Sect Martial Artist.
Southern Witch Mountain was located deep in the Demon Sect’s main territory, and Demon Sect Martial Artists often entered and exited there.
For an ordinary person like this little boy, those Martial Artists were indeed no different from a ’Divine Immortal’.
“There will be heavy snow today. Go back early.”
Su Qin glanced at the boy, before moving neither fast nor slow towards the Southern Witch Mountain.
“Heavy snow?”
“You are not a Divine Immortal, how can you tell if there would be heavy snow?” The little boy whispered.
Although it was snowing, it’s obviously getting lighter, and it should stop during the day.
How could there be heavy snow?
“Grandfather.”
“Are you okay?”
“Why haven’t you spoken?”
At this mont, The little boy suddenly thought of sothing, turned his head and looked towards his grandfather.
“Stop talking!” The old man’s face was pale like paper, and his hands were shaking uncontrollably.
“Grandfather, are you okay?” The little boy realized sothing was wrong and hurried to the old man.
“You…”
The old man gave a wry smile, and fiercely glared at the little boy: “Don’t you know that you and I were so close to the gates of hell just now?”
“Huh?”
“The gates of hell?”
The little boy was puzzled: “Grandfather, are you referring to the person just now?”
When the old man heard this, his expression changed again. He glanced in the direction where Su Qin left, and his expression flashed with fear: “Don’t you see, what’s wrong? Isn’t there sothing strange?”
“Strange?” The little boy blinked.
The old man sighed lightly. He raised his leg and stepped on the snow, then looked towards the little boy: “What is this?”
“Footprints?”
“Why are there footprints?” The old man asked.
The little boy rolled his eyes: “Grandfather, do you think I’m stupid? It’s currently snowing, and the ground is full of snow. If you step on it, of course there will be footprints…”
“Yes, but did you see if there were any footprints of the man that ca just now?” The old man took a deep breath and said with a trembling voice.
The little boy frowned, turned his head and looked around.
“Huh?”
The little boy’s complexion suddenly changed. Because all he saw was vast and boundless snow.
“No… no footprints…” The little boy’s face suddenly turned pale, as if he saw just a ghost.
This year’s snow was extrely heavy. As early as a few days ago, the snow on the ground was several feet deep. If ordinary people walked on it, they would definitely leave thick footprints. But the little boy did not find even half of a footprint.
“One more point.”
The old man cald down a bit and continued: “Did you see that person also wasn’t covered in snow?”
The little boy trembled.
Indeed, when he first saw Su Qin, he also felt a little strange. But the little boy didn’t think much at the ti. But at this mont that the old man reminded him, he finally realized that whether it was him or the old man, they had snow all over their body. But the young monk just now was different.
His body was clean and tidy, there was not a speck of snow!
