Luan sat at the dinner table; he looked at the al the servants prepared. "Looks good," he said, raising an eyebrow.
"But why are you all just standing there?" he inquired, visibly irritated.
Kian stepped forward. "Well, that's because we will eat after you, my lord," he replied, with a polite bow.
Luan tapped the table with his index finger furiously. "All of you sit down right now! I know you have etiquette and all that, but who's your lord? , so I decide what rules you follow, so sit your asses down and eat," he ordered, leaving no room for doubts.
Luciano looked around, not sure what to do; he had always been taught to eat after his lord, but now that lord was saying to eat together? Then he turned to Kian and waited to see what he would do.
The others were the sa, all looking at Kian, waiting to see what he would do.
But to their surprise, Kian stepped forward and took a seat, just like Luan had ordered them to do.
Lily laced her fingers together, squeezing them tightly to stop them from trembling. Her gaze darted to the door, then back to Kian.
She exhaled, trying to steel her nerves, and stepped forward while all the others were still not sure what to do. But seeing Lily step forward and take a seat at the table seed to be a cue, and they all took a seat.
"See. That wasn't so hard now, was it?" Luan asked, munching on the delicious food Samantha and Clover had prepared.
But no one answered; all of them had no idea how to handle this situation. Their lord was very different from what they heard about other noble children and saw.
Kian sighed, "My lord, cut them so slack; they haven't been with you for long, and you're quite eccentric."
Luan rolled his eyes. "I might be a little different, but it's not that bad, right?" he asked, looking around.
But everyone averted their eyes, and no one spoke up for him.
Luan looked like he wanted to say sothing, but he didn't know what and just leaned back into his chair. "Fine, I might be eccentric. Just get used to it, I guess," he nonchalantly said.
Lily stared at Luan, mouth agape, but she didn't dare say anything rude even if Luan acted laid back and mostly didn't care about it. That didn't an she would begin being rude; she had barely gotten this job.
Kian cleared his throat loudly. "You heard him; try and get used to it as soon as possible. When we go to the Xandrian Freeholds, you will all need to be on your best behavior. Don't bring sha to the skevela na."
The rest of dinner passed in awkward silence, the servants still adjusting to their eccentric lord's ways. But by the ti the plates were cleared, Luan could tell they were at least trying. That was enough for now; he couldn't expect them to adjust imdiately; that would be unreasonable.

Luan stood in front of the carriage again, looking at all the spirits who, despite him not telling them to stay, were still waiting neatly organized as he had asked them to do it yesterday.
"Is contracting that important to them?" Luan muttered to himself as he looked at Vira and the hawk.
"Ah, I needed a na for you, Hawk," he said, realizing he couldn't keep calling him Hawk.
"Let's see a good na for a spirit bird that has lightning abilities." Placing his hand on his chin, Luan looked around to see if maybe he could get so inspiration from sowhere.
"Ah, that's it. I'll call you Lumi from now on. What do you think?" He asked the hawk that was nestled on his head.
It let out a sharp screech, and Luan felt a wave of warm, subtle energy wash over him.
"You like it. Nice, from now on your na is Lumi then, and this" one"—pointing at Vira, who was seated on Luan's right shoulder. "I called Vira. Be nice to each other."
They looked at each other for a split second only to completely ignore each other. Luan sighed, "Well, I'll give them so ti to warm up to each other."
Then, focusing his attention on the spirits floating in the air, he was finally going to choose his third spirit to form a contract with.
He had a lightning spirit, and Vira, lightning is mostly used for offense and mobility, so the other one needs to be more defensive-oriented.
"I guess it should be either water or earth. But which one? Water is a bit more versatile, while earth is more defensive. It's also possible that I'll be able to contract another, so keep that in mind," he muttered, deep in thought.
Then he pointed at a blue whale floating all the way at the front. "Do you want to form a contract with ?" he asked.
The whale imdiately started flying toward Luan. A smile spreading across his face. But he hadn't forgotten what happened yesterday when he ford a contract with Lumi, so he braced himself for what was about to happen.
Biting his thumb, he held it above the whale's head, letting the blood fall on it, then he waited for the sa trial to happen again.
And he kept waiting and waiting; however, nothing happened. He looked around confused. "Why is it not happening? Can I only make a single contract as of now?" he muttered to himself.
"That's not possible; I feel the connection between us. Is Lumi special? Or is there another reason?" Luan mumbled, staring at the whale, "Well, whatever, there's nothing I can do about it now; I'll first choose a na for you."
"Your na will be Mara, or wait, I like Rhea as well. Which one should I pick?" Luan held his chin thinking; he looked at the whale in front of him. 'What would fit more, Mara or Rhea? I think I prefer Mara for so reason.'
Clapping his hands, he smiled, "Let's go with Mara. What do you think?" He asked the whale who was floating there. It looked like it had no clue what was happening.
When Luan asked it for its opinion, he expected it to communicate the sa way Lumi and Vira had communicated, but contrary to his expectations, the whale just kept floating there like it couldn't understand him at all.
"Are Lumi and Vira special? Or is there sothing else going on? Well, it doesn't matter if you don't object, Mara. It is. Welco to the squad, Mara." Luan said, patting it on the head.
