Wei Yaoyao was self-aware, knowing that even if he was popular, he couldn’t compare to Xie Qingci and the others.
And there were more than just one or two outstanding people. He didn’t know his ranking, but he felt that even if he advanced this ti, next ti he would probably still be eliminated.
Xie Qingci was still willing to say a few more words to him.
"Don’t worry, you’ve participated in many derivative shows, which ans everyone really likes you."
Wei Yaoyao was still worried: "Even if I don’t leave this ti, next ti or the ti after that, I will still have to go."
To put it simply, he didn’t think he could make his debut, but who wouldn’t want to make their debut after coming here and sweating so much for it?
"Could you comfort a bit more, brother?" he said dejectedly.
Xie Qingci, with patience, comforted him again: "Didn’t you prepare for this before coming? So people leave, and so stay. Since you don’t want to leave, then strive harder to climb up. You’re very popular now."
This was not the kind of comfort Wei Yaoyao imagined, but considering Xie Qingci’s usual cold and handso deanor, he was already quite satisfied.
"Then let console you too. You look like you’re about to leave yourself... Have you befriended other lower-ranked friends behind my back?"
Just as he finished speaking, he received a cold glance from Xie Qingci.
"...Well, that sounded a bit odd," Wei Yaoyao chuckled awkwardly, scratching his curly hair, "You continue being deep, go on, I won’t disturb you anymore."
Then he turned away to chat with Ning Yunchao and the others. He had dozens if not hundreds of friends, and could chat with anyone for half an hour.
Xie Qingci, once freed from his interruption, looked up at the ntors’ seats again.
She still wasn’t looking at him.
Annoyed, he lowered his head again.
Song Xi, sitting two seats away and recently recovered from an illness, looked sowhat silent, also with his head down, lost in thought.
At the ntors’ table, Yu Kuang noticed their expressions and remarked to the other three, "They’re still young, and after spending so much ti together, it’s indeed tough to suddenly eliminate half of them. It’s like how we felt back then, sad for the friends who leave and anxious about not knowing how far we can go."
Shu Ran smiled, "They still need to feel anxious?"
Yu Kuang, seemingly implying sothing, said, "Who knows, nothing is certain until they reach the last step, and surely they must have goals."
Failing to achieve goals can induce anxiety too.
Yu Xia didn’t say anything, absentmindedly listening to their chat.
Once the equipnt was set up and the online voting period ended, the final advancent list was in their hands.
The studio fell silent, and the brothers stopped chatting, nervously watching the thin sheets of paper in their hands.
Yu Xia sighed inwardly, picked up the microphone, and announced the nas of the advancing contestants in order.
Shu Ran announced the first to the ninth place, with Xie Qingci taking the current first in popularity.
However, he was just beginning to shine, and his fanbase was not yet solidified, with Song Xi in second place closely trailing behind.
After all four took turns announcing, those whose nas weren’t called represented those eliminated. Fifty people stood there forlornly, so already tearing up, not daring to let out a sound, only tears continuously falling, unable to wipe them fast enough.
After the advancent/elimination speeches, the advancing brothers rushed down to embrace their friends.
Wei Yaoyao, who had many friends, sobbed, causing his curly hair to shake. A few close ones hugged tightly, promising to keep in touch and et again.
Even the usually cool Xie Qingci exchanged a hug with a complicated expression.
Yu Xia felt a pang of heartache watching.
In life, one must go through many trials. This is not the first nor the last, and she can only hope they continue to have the courage to pursue what they want.
Arrogance in youth is a consumable item, and every year after eighteen, it diminishes more. While the wear isn’t severe yet, one must seize the opportunity to advance.
They didn’t have much ti left for farewells; the fifty eliminated had to leave within an hour, with the bus to send them off already parked outside the base.
Tears in their eyes, they returned to the dorm to pack their belongings, and others followed along. Shu Ran called Yu Xia and the other three to join.
Since the show began, they hadn’t visited the brothers’ dorm, and Yu Xia felt a bit curious, perking up and following inside.
The dorm area was quite large, laid out along a U-shaped corridor, roughly divided into two sections, with two interview rooms in the middle.
Each dormitory door had handwritten dorm nas and a hand-drawn picture, so crudely drawn beyond view, so vivid at first glance.
Yu Xia easily spotted Xie Qingci’s dorm, as the drawing on the door was very realistic and depicted Xie Qingci very handsoly.
Its na was "The Temptation to Go Ho."
...This na was undoubtedly chosen by Wei Yaoyao.
Since no one from their dorm was eliminated, the four ntors didn’t go inside, remaining poised as they went to the dorm with the most people, watching the eliminated brothers cry as they packed their luggage.
Yu Xia and Shu Ran stood at the doorway, not entering, as the dorm was incredibly ssy.
True to boys’ dorms, the regal-style decor was being lived in as if it were Syria: shoes scattered everywhere, the big table in the center was a chaotic ss, with uneaten spicy strips still lying open.
Yu Xia feared entering and being blown up by a biochemical bomb.
They had no choice but to check out other dorms.
Next door was a seven-person dormitory where Song Xi was inside, with his head down as he handed his items to those about to leave.
Due to his illness, his lips and face were paler than usual, lips lightly pressed together, wearing gold-rimd glasses with straight hair, looking much more docile.
"Your dorm is quite clean." Shu Ran remarked.
Song Xi glanced at the doorway montarily, his eyes briefly stalled, quickly avoiding them, then picking up Shu Ran’s words: "We’re okay; so of us in the dorm have OCD and don’t like too much ss."
Yu Xia took a few steps inside, took a look around but hadn’t had ti to comnt when a tall and slender figure appeared at the door.
Xie Qingci was at the front, with Wei Yaoyao and Ning Yunchao following behind.
Wei Yaoyao slipped in to chat while Ning Yunchao went to find the eliminated brother, with only Xie Qingci standing at the door, lowering his gaze without moving.
A dark gaze enveloped her montarily before vanishing, afraid others would notice.
Yu Xia subtly pinched her fingertips, listening to Shu Ran saying, "Since we’re here, let’s also look at the other dorms to see if they’re all as ssy as this."
Xie Qingci suddenly spoke, "Then let’s visit our dorm first, it’s right next door."
Shu Ran had no objections.
Their dorm was indeed clean, with three beds neatly arranged, suitcases and shoes lined up, and few items on the table, the most noticeable being the Zuoshan Diao figurine.
Yu Xia imdiately recognized Xie Qingci’s bed.
She had seen it in the Dormitory Diary, the dark blue blanket laid flat, with a book placed on the bedside.
She hadn’t seen the na of the book clearly when Xie Qingci quickly took a few steps forward, reaching out to tug at the blanket, then turned to glance at her, quickly looking away.
Looking a bit embarrassed, she raised her eyebrows, thinking he resembled a young boy shyly inviting a matchmaking partner into his boudoir.
