The brilliant white light of evolution gradually faded away.
The pseudo-legendary's complete form appeared before everyone's eyes for the first ti.
Not only was this an incredibly rare achievent, but this was also an extrely uncommon "shiny" pseudo-legendary. Until this mont, no one had known what form a shiny tagross would take.
After evolution, tagross's body resembled two tang fused together, creating a disc-like shape with thick, powerful steel limbs that appeared to be four Beldum perfectly integrated.
The shiny tagross displayed crimson eyes and a snow-white body, with an X-shaped tal cross adorning its face. Unlike the silver coloring of ordinary tagross, this specin's X-shaped talwork glead with brilliant gold.
This exceptionally rare and beautiful form compelled audience mbers to pull out their phones for photographs.
Hatred toward foreign trainers was one thing, but Pokemon transcended national boundaries. The regions where Pokemon appeared were simply locations where mysterious energy had manifested - they belonged to no single country.
While the audience, referees, and opponent remained transfixed by the evolution, Roy quietly opened his system interface to check tagross's current status.
Pokemon: tagross
Gender: Genderless
Type: Steel Psychic
Ability: Light tal
Moves: Iron Defense (Master Level), Light Screen (Master Level), teor Mash, Bullet Punch, tal Claw, Zen Headbutt, Hamr Arm, Agility...
Overall Evaluation: A-Rank
The trendous potential of pseudo-legendary Pokemon allowed a single evolution to dramatically increase its capabilities, jumping two entire classification levels.
The appearance of his sixth A-rank Pokemon also ant that Roy had officially achieved "Peak Trainer" status by global standards.
Roy suddenly rembered his conversation with Elon when he first joined the university team.
At that ti, he had estimated that becoming an Peak trainer would take until at least the national sumr competition.
Well, apparently even a genius like himself couldn't accurately predict the limits of his own potential. His growth had exceeded even his expectations.
Roy felt deeply moved by this realization.
The referee's voice interrupted his contemplation.
"Player 134, please select your second Pokemon."
The bearded teenager reluctantly sent out his second Pokemon, which was also a species from the Kalos Region that Roy recognized.
Furfrou.
A loyal guard dog Pokemon known for its elaborate grooming and thick coat.
This specin appeared well-trained, with strength superior to the previous Talonfla. Unfortunately, facing tagross whose power had skyrocketed after evolution, it was quickly defeated.
From B to A rank represented roughly the skill level of university team mbers. Roy evaluated his opponent's two Pokemon with this assessnt.
Excluding individual exceptional cases, this probably represented the average preliminary round standard.
In his next two matches, Roy encountered opponents of similar caliber. Without encountering any unexpected complications, he successfully advanced to the main tournant.
The advancent list was published shortly after, and Roy searched through it on his phone, finding brief introductions for each qualifying participant.
Upon review, Roy discovered that virtually every contestant who had reached the top 32 held PeakTrainer certification.
The competition quality had suddenly elevated by several levels.
Elite trainers, who would have served as team captains at prestigious Chinese universities, had beco the average standard here. Beyond that, there were six professional trainers and one quasi-professional competitor.
Roy didn't pay particular attention to the elite trainers, instead focusing on the seven opponents with professional-level combat capabilities and studying their detailed profiles.
Only the top four finishers would receive Key Stones as prizes.
Roy needed to win three elimination matches to achieve his goal.
With poor luck, he might face all seven professional-level competitors across those three battles.
Even with favorable matchups, he would definitely encounter at least one.
Regardless of circumstances, Roy needed the strength to defeat three professional-level Pokemon in direct combat. Mimikyu and Ninetales counted as two potential victories, but the third would be the crucial challenge.
The main tournant was scheduled to begin in just two days.
"Hopefully Lucario will be ready in ti," Roy murmured.
A month ago, Roy had been worried about defeating Jaxon's single professional-level Swampert. At that ti, he never could have imagined facing a challenge three tis more difficult.
Despite the tight tifra, Roy wasn't panicking.
Before departing for Europe, Lucario had shared important news with him.
"I can faintly perceive the flow of natural energy," it had reported.
Having remained under Totem Aura conditions for extended periods, Lucario had begun sensing natural energy currents. Recently, it had been attempting to master the ability to transform natural power into Totem Aura independently, just as Mimikyu had accomplished.
Permanent Totem Aura enhancent.
Interestingly, Blastoise, which seed most suited for Totem Aura, remained the least compatible with the enhancent despite its substantial size.
"It appears that larger body size correlates with Totem Aura compatibility, though this has nothing to do with natural energy sensitivity," Roy noted, gaining another insight into the phenonon.
Lucario's ability to sense natural energies wasn't particularly surprising.
After all, it possessed aura powers specifically designed for sensing abilities and demonstrated exceptional talent in aura manipulation.
Without exposure to Totem Aura, Lucario might never have developed natural energy sensitivity. However, through Mimikyu's daily efforts and guidance, it had approached the threshold of mastering what Roy privately called "sage techniques."
If Lucario mastered these advanced thods, its strength would undoubtedly increase dramatically.
Furthermore, Roy realized another potential benefit.
"If Lucario masters sage techniques, it might also be able to use Shattered Psyche."
As ntioned previously, although Lucario's typing was Fighting and Steel, its actual steel-type talent was limited, with very few steel-type moves it could learn naturally.
Conversely, its Psychic-type potential was quite impressive.
Combined with mastering sage techniques, Lucario would likely reach the threshold for Z-Move usage.
At that point, Roy's team would consist of three Pokemon capable of executing Z-Moves.
However, this prospect raised another concern.
"Using three Z-Moves consecutively... can my body handle that strain?" Roy's scalp tingled rembering the exhaustion and weakness that followed Z-Move usage.
But for the Key Stone, he was willing to push his limits.
At worst, he'd need several days of recovery. Every young person occasionally needed ti to recuperate from intense exertion.
Acquiring the Key Stone himself would essentially save 100 million points - an incredible bargain.
He could only hope that Lucario's training would be successful.
After the preliminaries concluded, Roy returned to his hotel for dinner, then visited the local Pokemon Center in Paris to rent a training room.
The mont he entered the facility, Roy summoned both Mimikyu and Lucario, imdiately initiating "Aura Fusion" without hesitation.
"This is..." Lucario expressed surprise upon feeling its aura power increase by an entire level.
With Roy channeling all his aura energy, sweat began forming on his forehead as he explained, "If your aura power increases, will that help you sense natural energy more effectively?"
By strengthening Lucario's aura, Roy hoped to enhance its sensing capabilities and help it master Totem Aura techniques. Lucario understood Roy's intentions and showed concern for the strain this placed on his trainer.
"In that case, you're bearing too much burden," Lucario worried.
Mimikyu remained silent but watched Roy carefully from beneath its disguise.
Roy shrugged and smiled reassuringly. "Compared to becoming stronger, this cost is nothing. Isn't Electabuzz working even harder than I am?"
"I understand," Lucario nodded and turned to address Mimikyu seriously.
"Please help , Mimikyu."
"...!" Mimikyu responded in a quiet voice, indicating its agreent.
The intensive training session was about to begin, with Roy pushing his limits to give his team every possible advantage before the crucial battles ahead. The Key Stone prize was within reach, but only if they could overco the professional-level competition standing in their way.
Ti was running short, but Roy's determination had never been stronger. His team would be ready for whatever challenges awaited them in the main tournant.
