"This Mimikyu is actually a Totem Pokémon?"

Roy's thoughts raced chaotically as nurous realizations flashed through his mind in an instant. At the sa ti, his determination to capture this Pokémon only grew stronger.

"Use Aura Sphere to Foresight it, and primarily use Steel-type moves," Roy instructed with precision.

In the gas, Mimikyu was the only Ghost/Fairy-type combination among all Pokémon. This unique typing was exceptionally advantageous, with weaknesses to only Ghost and Steel types. It boasted a quadruple resistance to Bug-type moves, complete immunity to Dragon, Fighting, and Normal-type attacks.

Being immune to Fighting-type moves seed to negate Lucario's advantage, but reality differed from gas.

In the real world, "absolute immunity" to types didn't exist. For example, Elekid's high-voltage lightning could damage Ground-type Pokémon through the principle of "current resistance generating heat."

Fighting and Normal-type Pokémon could harm Ghost-types if they learned the move 'Foresight.'

The Foresight move, true to its na, allowed one to perceive a Ghost-type's true form. In reality, as long as you could 'sense' a Ghost's physical body, you could damage it—

When it ca to sensing abilities, Aura power was unmatched.

And Steel-type energy naturally countered Fairy-types.

Lucario was undoubtedly the perfect counter to the mysterious Mimikyu.

"Crack—"

The Mimikyu, enveloped in Totem aura, emitted a low growl before suddenly vanishing.

"Escaping into another dinsion—that's the 'Phantom Force' move," Roy recognized imdiately.

On the battlefield, Lucario, already in his "Aura Combat" battle stance, remained perfectly calm and stood motionless. Regardless of which angle or direction his opponent might appear from, he was confident in his ability to react instantly.

Seeing that Lucario wasn't panicking at all, Mimikyu lurked briefly before decisively launching a Sucker Punch.

It burst from its dinsional pocket, materializing behind Lucario with its body wrapped in Ghost-type energy as it charged forward.

This Mimikyu possessed extraordinary speed and a masterful command of Ghost-type energy. Throughout its entire attack sequence, it didn't produce even the slightest sound or movent.

Any other Pokémon would have failed to notice the attack, let alone react to it!

But Lucario's body moved naturally, even before his mind could process the threat.

"teor Mash!"

His iron fist, charged with massive Steel-type energy, smashed toward the rushing Mimikyu.

The two energy types clashed briefly before the Ghost energy dissipated in an instant.

Mimikyu was punched into tatters...

Lucario froze montarily.

Sothing felt wrong.

It was another fake.

Sure enough, the next mont, several Mimikyus erged from different spatial rifts, so unleashing Shadow Claw while others fired Shadow Ball—

Ghost-type energy assaulted him from various forms and directions.

"Hah!"

Lucario took a deep breath, releasing a sharp, clear fighting spirit as his fists exploded outward like a teor shower.

"Close Combat!"

First identify the real body, then shatter the ghost with iron fists!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Energy exploded, generating violent gusts strong enough to uproot large trees.

If the training room hadn't been constructed from special alloys, it would have been obliterated.

Wartortle erected a 'Protect' barrier in front of Roy, shielding him from the energy backlash.

They weren't interfering... Wild Pokémon respected the law of strength. To subdue a Pokémon, you couldn't convince it through unfair advantages.

As the winds dissipated, Roy spotted several more Mimikyus erging from dinsional rifts.

Its true form remained hidden in another dinsion, continuously deploying "clones" to assassinate, harass, and attack Lucario from multiple angles, seemingly making it invincible.

Lucario could only maintain his defense, growing weary from constantly countering.

To defeat it, Roy needed to understand the nature of these "clones."

Roy carefully observed the battle, deep in thought.

There were only two moves that allowed Pokémon to create clones:

—Double Team. —Substitute.

But neither seed to fit the current situation.

Double Team created illusory projections to mislead opponents. By nature, these projections were immaterial and incapable of inflicting damage.

Substitute created a physical entity by sacrificing so of the user's health to absorb damage.

A basic Substitute lacked consciousness and couldn't be controlled.

However, in professional competitions, highly skilled users of Substitute could control their duplicates like autonomous clones. So trainers had even developed "Multiple Substitute" tactics.

Mimikyu's situation resembled high-level Substitute usage.

But this was absurd...

Mimikyu had created at least twenty Substitutes!

This defied conventional understanding. Substitute required dividing one's vitality—this was the fundantal cost, the law of energy conservation.

The more vitality sacrificed, the stronger the Substitute's combat capability.

From Lucario's Aura perception, each of Mimikyu's "clones" possessed at least 30% of the original's fighting power.

More than twenty clones, each with 30% strength...

Where was all this life energy coming from?

Roy contemplated everything he knew about Mimikyu, gradually forming a bold theory.

"Substitute... with Disguise!"

Disguise, Mimikyu's exclusive ability, created a "decoy" that was both fake and real, capable of absorbing one attack regardless of its power.

These "clones" that Lucario had "defeated" weren't actually destroyed. Thanks to the Disguise ability, they escaped into another dinsion at the mont of defeat, continuing to fight after donning a fresh "Disguise."

The most convincing evidence was that Mimikyu only deployed four clones during each phase of the battle.

Four new clones appeared after each round of defeats.

This was the ultimate developnt of the Disguise ability—unlimited disguises...

An infinite matryoshka doll strategy!

Roy's spirits lifted as his theory solidified. To confirm his suspicions, he stretched his Aura perception to its limit and scrutinized the battlefield.

Indeed, each ti a clone was defeated by Lucario, an imperceptible shadow slipped into another dinsion.

But in a battlefield saturated with powerful Ghost-type energy, these figures were extraordinarily difficult to detect...

If not for Roy's observer perspective, he would never have noticed.

Impressive.

Being chosen as a Totem Pokémon among countless wild Pokémon truly required exceptional qualities...

This infinite matryoshka technique made Mimikyu practically invincible.

But after his Foresight analysis, Roy relaxed slightly.

This tactic had a fatal flaw.

Which was...

"The energy consumption is enormous," Roy smiled subtly.

The more matryoshka dolls manipulated simultaneously, the greater the energy expenditure.

Controlling four matryoshka dolls simultaneously might not cost exactly four tis the energy of controlling one, but it certainly required at least double the expenditure.

The Double Team strategy was already a notorious energy drain—only Pokémon like Ninetales could maintain it effectively.

For a small Mimikyu to attempt this was almost comical.

With this realization, Roy allowed the battle to continue.

Mimikyu persistently manipulated its matryoshka dolls to execute various attacks.

Any ordinary Pokémon would have questioned its existence amidst endless swarm tactics, assassinations, ambushes, and barrages.

An enemy you couldn't catch or kill was truly terrifying.

Unfortunately for Mimikyu, Lucario, trained in "Aura Boxing," possessed battle awareness that rivaled even professional Pokémon.

Realizing they were locked in a war of attrition, Lucario defended with maximum energy efficiency.

The high-intensity offensive and defensive battle continued for a full ten minutes.

Roy found his expectations exceeded.

This Mimikyu's stamina surpassed his predictions by an astonishing margin...

He quickly deduced why.

"The Totem aura significantly enhances base stats—"

"This Mimikyu must be allocating the Totem aura's energy toward stamina..."

Roy murmured.

"Even so, it must be approaching its limit."

This ti, Roy's prediction proved correct.

After Lucario defeated another four dolls, no new clones appeared on the battlefield.

Lucario exhaled in relief. Even with the superior combat awareness granted by "Aura Combat" and constant energy conservation, he had barely endured.

At that mont, a space portal filled with darkness opened in mid-air, and Mimikyu stepped out.

"Kaka—"

It made an agitated sound.

How frustrating!

The annoying Lucario had countered its best assassination and ambush techniques.

With superior battle awareness, he had neutralized its swarm tactics. Lucario hadn't panicked against multiple opponents, made no mistakes, and constantly conserved his energy.

A natural enemy.

It was like facing a hard counter—short reach against long reach, teleport against ignite. Mimikyu had never encountered such an infuriating opponent and couldn't help but express its frustration to Lucario.

"You're so annoying! Can't you just disappear?"

Lucario's expression remained impassive, though he was genuinely affected by the battle.

Seeing that its final warning proved useless, Mimikyu suddenly erupted with trendous energy.

It converted its remaining Totem aura into raw power.

Shadow Claw!

Ghost energy coalesced to form a massive spectral hand, lunging toward Lucario.

In this mont when both combatants were exhausted, this transford energy would surely tip the scales of battle!

Just as Mimikyu thought victory was certain, it was shocked to see powerful Aura energy emanating from Lucario!

"?"

Mimikyu ntally issued a question mark.

Instantly, it sensed the source of this fresh Aura power—it ca from that human Trainer!

This was cheating!

How disrespectful to the warrior's code!

"Aura Sphere!" Roy had been waiting for precisely this mont.

Had he revealed his Aura fusion trump card earlier, Mimikyu would never have erged from its dinsional refuge, never attacked so confidently.

The massive Aura Sphere collided with Shadow Claw.

Mimikyu's energy was forcibly extracted—

anwhile, Lucario received Roy's fresh power supply, a full battery replacing an empty one.

It was obvious which attack would prevail.

The enormous Aura Sphere instantly crushed Shadow Claw and engulfed Mimikyu completely.

"Ka--!!"

Having split its vitality repeatedly to create Substitutes, Mimikyu's own condition was extrely poor.

A single blow depleted its remaining health.

A Poké Ball had appeared in Roy's hand at so point, and he flung it with perfect form that even professional Pokémon Catchers couldn't criticize.

Mimikyu transford into red energy and was sucked into the Poké Ball.

One... two... three...

After shaking three tis, the Poké Ball emitted a 'click' sound and beca still.

Capture successful!
