“Are you Ling Chuxi?” The old man walked up to Ling Chuxi and looked at her disdainfully. Despite the average cultivation he possessed, he was extrely arrogant.
“I’m Ling Chuxi from the Golden Pill Sect. Greetings, Senior.” Although she was annoyed with the old man’s arrogance, he was still a mber of the Celestial Sect, and it seed like his status wasn’t low either. “No need to be so formal. I have brought over the Ink Jade Crystals as requested by the Lord Sect Master. Count them please,” the old man waved his hand and said in a cold and detached manner.
“There’s no need.” Ling Chuxi wasn’t so petty. She only wanted those Ink Jade Crystals to cure Duan Xiaomo’s illness, and did not have any other selfish intentions. She wouldn’t have cared even if soone stole a few pieces along the way.
“It’s up to you, but let make sothing clear—these Ink Jade Crystals are specially sent by Lord Sect Master to treat Duan Xiaomo’s sickness, so you’d better put in more effort. If you can’t cure him...” The old man trailed off nacingly. He didn’t have to finish his sentence, the threat was obvious.
“I’m willing to treat Xiaomo because I get along with him. If you don’t trust , then just take back these Ink Jade Crystals,” Ling Chuxi retorted coldly. Who did this old man think he was? Even Duan Qingchen had begged her to treat Xiaomo with courtesy and politeness. What right did this man have to be so rude to her?
“Is this how you speak to your seniors?” The old man asked incredulously, his face going red in anger. He initially thought that Ling Chuxi would say sothing respectful like “I’ll try my best”, but he never thought that she would reply so coldly. If it wasn’t for Duan Qingchen’s previous letter, asking them to treat the Golden Pill Sect with courtesy, they would have left imdiately.
“Mister Lu, you all must be tired from your long journey. You should rest first.” Duan Feiyu tried to rectify the situation when he saw Ling Chuxi and Mister Lu not getting along. At the sa ti, he gave Ling Chuxi a pointed look.
“Elder Lu, I’m Su Yizhi from the Golden Pill Sect. I did not know about Mister Lu’s visit and have been lacking in my welco. Please pardon . You all must have had a hard ti traveling, please co with to the guest room and rest first. I shall hold a welcoming banquet for all of you later.” Su Yizhi also realized that even though this old man wasn’t very strong, he was sobody important. He did not wish to offend him just because of a couple of words.
“Hmph!” The old man was unhappy, but he couldn’t ss up Duan Qingchen’s important matter over a few words. Since he was given an opportunity to back off gracefully, he followed Su Yizhi and left with a snort.
“Who’s that fellow? He’s so arrogant! If I hadn’t t your grandfather, I would have thought he was the Sect Master of the Celestial Sect,” Ling Chuxi muttered crossly once the old man was far away. After letting go of the conflicts in the past and becoming friends with Duan Feiyu, she was more comfortable talking to him.
“He is Lu Chengfeng, the special guest of our Celestial Sect,” Duan Feiyu explained.
“The special guest elder?” Ling Chuxi asked in surprise. Everyone knew that special guest elders of sects had a very high status, and even the sect master needed to respect them. Of course, their cultivation was usually not inferior to the sect master’s cultivation, but based on Lu Chengfeng’s average cultivation, how had he beco the special guest elder of the Celestial Sect?
“He’s a special guest, not an elder.” Duan Feiyu saw Ling Chuxi’s doubtful expression and added.
