Before the man could react, a slender finger landed on the top of his head.
There were a few cracking sounds, and then blood started to flow out from the person’s head. His whole face very quickly beca a bloody ss.
The man did not die instantly. He looked at the old man in shock, and after that he started to feel an excruciating pain. His face contorted in agony and then he collapsed to the ground. His body twitched for a while before he finally stopped breathing. Blood was still gushing out of the holes on his head.
The old man straightened, and lightly floated back to his palanquin. His fingers were covered in blood, and they were a stark contrast to the pure while silk veil around him. It gave off an eerie, sinister vibe, especially with the pleasant smile on his face and his refined air. If not for the scene just now, everyone would have thought that he was just a kind and honest elder who couldn’t care less of worldly affairs and was knowledgeable about many things.
The atmosphere was tense, and the guests were stunned.
“Such terrifying cultivation!” Ling Chuxi was shocked. From the way the old man attacked, his cultivation definitely exceeded the Great Fulfilnt, but the most terrifying thing about him was his cruel ruthlessness.
It would have been understandable if he had just killed a person he had argued with, but this man had only made a comnt about him. Futhermore, with his cultivation, he could have killed the man quickly and easily, but he had purposely chosen such a cruel thod.
“Who are you?” The man’s companions were terror-stricken, but they still drew their swords and demanded an answer in trembling voices.
“Do you all deserve to know? Heh.” The old man held out his hand and one of the young maidens used a yarn handkerchief to gently wipe the blood off his fingers. Even the seams of his nails were cleaned. The old man’s tone was filled with disdain, as if those people were rely ants compared to him.
‘This old man is crazy!’ Ling Chuxi could feel her stomach churning. This kind of cruel thod of killing soone made her extrely uncomfortable. Ling Yichen was also frowning, but the both of them did not act rashly. The dead man was not related to them, but even if they wanted to help him, they were powerless. Both she and Ling Yichen were unable to determine the cultivation the old man possessed, but they knew that it far surpassed theirs.
“What an eyesore,” the old man sneered. Suddenly, he waved his hand, sprinkling a cloud of green powder towards the people who were sitting under the pergola.
‘Not good!’ Ling Chuxi paled. This powder was a potent poison! The effects would be unbearable if their bodies ca in contact with the powder.
“Run!” Ling Chuxi instructed Ling Yichen in a low voice.
Ling Yichen understood the urgency, and swiftly grabbed the stunned waiter who was standing next to him as they quickly retreated. Ling Chuxi grabbed a packet of dicinal powder from her bag and threw the powder in the direction of the green powder before turning around and escaping. She could only do so much. There were just too many people in the pergola and she couldn’t save any of them. The old man’s cultivation was just too terrifying.
The dicinal powder that Ling Chuxi scattered and the green powder sprinkled by the old man collided mid-air with a hissing sound. Most of the green powder lted, and only a small portion of it landed on a table. It imdiately made a sizzling sound and the table actually started to corrode. The people who were left behind were petrified – they could not imagine the consequences if the green powder had landed on their bodies. They were also surprised that the old man’s hand was unscathed after touching such a poisonous powder. Why was this so?
