Xu Qinghuan knows about the situation of the two kids; they are prodigies. The son is calm and reserved, able to hide it sowhat, but the daughter is like a female version of Sun Wukong, with a strong desire to show off, hard to conceal.
"A bit," Xu Qinghuan admits straightforwardly, "Definitely smarter than average kids."
Huo Zui says, "Then we must cultivate them well!"
He raises his hand to stroke Xingxing’s hair, the softness slipping through his palm, unable to dispel the bitterness in his heart.
Too late by a step, missed everything.
The aunt is preparing to cook, Shen Xiuqin goes to help, and Xu Qinghuan follows to lend a hand.
"Now Jiang Xingye’s big sister helps at ho, but one person might not be enough. Godmother, do you know any efficient aunts around here? I want to find another person to help."
Shen Xiuqin doesn’t have anyone suitable, "I’ll help you inquire, let the aunt ask around too, she knows many people."
The aunt says, "There is one, but she was let go. She used to work for a chief’s family, very capable. Initially doing well, not sure what happened and she offended soone in the family, wouldn’t let her work, now urgently looking for a job."
But she’s a good person, we’ve known each other for years, understand her background.
Because she was dismissed due to being wrongly accused, it’s not easy to find a job, best if the main family keeps quiet.
Xu Qinghuan says, "If it’s not her fault, what’s the issue? I need to go register tomorrow, could you have the aunt co to my house around five in the afternoon for a chat?"
The aunt is quite pleased.
The next day, Jiang Xingye, Jiang Xingi, and Xu Qinghuan go to register.
They first send Jiang Xingi to Textile University; only when her departnt’s freshn reception takes her in do Jiang Xingye and Xu Qinghuan head to Yan University, their school.
The classical open red lacquer palace doors are solemn and elegant, Xu Qinghuan once passed through them countless tis, spending four years here, yet no matter how many tis she sees it, she is deeply struck.
About twelve ters south of the school entrance is West Hook, in feudal tis, a place where nurous literati and poets lingered and sang, witnessing the changes over countless ages.
Standing here again, Xu Qinghuan feels a myriad of emotions.
In these years, Jiang Xingye has seen the world, deeply understanding the distance that once existed between him and Xu Qinghuan, and he has finally caught up enough to stand beside her.
At this mont, Jiang Xingye’s feelings are also very complex.
Seeing the two standing at the entrance, each carrying a yellow shoulder bag, followed by luggage and bundles coming to register, new students behind don’t know what’s happening, waiting in the increasing crowd.
"Hey, are you two here to register as freshn? Which departnt are you from?"
"Mathematics and Physics departnt and dical departnt."
Jiang Xingye originally wanted to study chanics but was transferred to the Mathematics and Physics departnt due to excellent grades.
This departnt focuses on science research.
Nowadays, the country dictates what you should do; personal wishes sotis aren’t valued much.
"Mathematics and Physics departnt, follow . dical departnt, hey, Li Hu, co over here, we have a dical freshman here, guide her to registration." The student council vice-chairman Xue Congbin shouted to a boy nearby.
That boy is over thirty years old, an old student from the previous batch, here through recomndation.
Before the entrance exams were resud, those who entered colleges were selected through community recomndation, leader approval, and school review, known as Worker Peasant Soldier students.
So were recomnded with only primary education level, so university teachers couldn’t teach effectively, needing to help these students catch up on secondary education knowledge.
This led to the Worker Peasant Soldier students having a not-too-great reputation, and after the entrance exam revival, the difference in ability and social status between them and new university students beca evident.
Xue Congbin wanted to take Jiang Xingye to register, but he declined, "I’ll accompany my wife first!"
Li Hu, excitedly rushing over, was surprised to hear Xu Qinghuan was married, asking in astonishnt, "Ah, you’re married already?"
Xu Qinghuan smiled a little, held Jiang Xingye’s arm, "Hello, could you tell us which direction to go for dical school registration?"
Li Hu quickly said, "I’ll take you over!"
"No need to trouble yourself, just point us the direction, there are many other students in need of assistance." Xu Qinghuan spent four years here, knows the school well, not wanting to draw attention.
Li Hu pointed ahead, "Go forward, at the second crossroads turn left, after that is the dical school freshman reception area."
After thanking him, the two headed over together.
Xu Qinghuan introduced the school to him as they walked, detailing its history and future developnt.
"To my understanding, the Mathematics and Physics departnt mainly focuses on research, what direction do you plan for future developnt?" Xu Qinghuan asked.
"Not sure for now, first learn the technology well, even if pursuing comrcialization, I want so developnt in cutting-edge science," he replied.
Xu Qinghuan laughed, "I watched a sci-fi movie once, thought it was particularly good, there’s a company in it called Stank Industries. Its CEO faced a conspiracy, nearly died after being hit by shrapnel, and to save himself, he created an Ark Reactor with help from a kidnapped physicist, later used it as a power source for making Iron Armor and battled enemies to victory."
Xu Qinghuan described the Iron Man suits Tony made in "Iron Man," "Though it’s a sci-fi film, the scenes are very cool, I particularly liked it, believing future technology will reach that level."
Jiang Xingye found it hard to envision but appreciated Xu Qinghuan’s line of thought.
"My point is, whether past or present, or future, Western and small neighbor’s technology developnt surpasses ours significantly. At least for the next thirty to forty years, Hua Country’s entrepreneurs will mostly mimic and replicate foreign technology;
We may lack the capability, funding, and ti to develop our core technologies, but whoever advances ahead will beco the biggest beneficiary."
Jiang Xingye adjusted her shoulder, "I know, I won’t be short-sighted, focusing only on imdiate benefits, I’ll strive to have core technology of my own."
"Mm, I believe in you!"
After registration, Xu Qinghuan applied for day school, assigned to Clinical dicine, Class Six, just heard there’s a class eting tomorrow afternoon, then went to find Jiang Xingye.
After Jiang Xingye finished registering, the two went to the mall, bought a bike each, and rode ho.
The two little ones were watched by Grandpa and Grandma Jiang, still early; Jiang Xingye took Jiang Nanxin to nearby elentary school to inquire about transfer procedures, Huo Family had pulled so strings, so it went smoothly, enrollnt complete, she could start school tomorrow.
Jiang Nanxin brought back books, and Jiang Xinglan helped her wrap them with newspaper.
Xu Qinghuan opened a book, asked Jiang Nanxin, "Where did you study up to before? The school here might have covered a lot already, may struggle to keep up, are you worried?"
Jiang Nanxin pursed her lips, shook her head, "Not worried!"
She thought a bit and added, "Mom said Aunt, you’re really great in studies, if there’s sothing I don’t understand, I can ask you and Uncle. As long as I work hard, I can do well."
Xu Qinghuan loved kids like this, she nodded in approval, "That’s indeed the case. As long as you have the spirit of endurance and not giving up, there’s no difficulty you can’t overco. First, study well and ask and your uncle if you don’t understand."
