"I like you!"

Jiang Xingye watched her with satisfaction.

Sweat dampened her temples. It was already autumn, and the nights were actually a bit chilly.

She instinctively leaned in, tears sliding from the corners of her eyes, her outer eyes tinged with a captivating red. It was an alluring intoxication, a srizing allure that was Jiang Xingye’s own endless abyss.

He buried himself deeply, the deeper the better, he would give her his life!

"I want you to give a child!" Jiang Xingye gritted his teeth, holding her wrists to the bed.

Xu Qinghuan began to cry aloud, her fingers embedded in Jiang Xingye’s arms. Through clouded eyes, she saw Jiang Xingye’s furrowed brow and pained expression. That out-of-control look made her feel much more balanced inside.

The two embraced tightly and didn’t separate for a long ti.

On the wedding night, just as he had imagined, it was different from all before, and he indulged in it. Even during the day, his gaze toward her was different.

Indeed, it wasn’t long before Jiang Xingye raised himself up, but he didn’t continue and instead said, "Let’s go to the space, to the bath pool?"

Xu Qinghuan knew what he ant; she was exhausted, her upper body tilted sideways in a twisted position, "You go yourself."

Jiang Xingye lifted her, letting her sit on him.

Xu Qinghuan gasped, awakened, she quickly braced on his shoulders, lifting herself up a bit to relieve the discomfort, staring wide-eyed at him.

Jiang Xingye felt a bit awkward, turning away, holding her waist with both hands, "I didn’t an it."

"You did an it, trying to shark , huh?"

"How could I kill you? Would I bear it?" He raised the damp hair by her temples. She was drenched with sweat, as if caught in the rain for a long ti.

Xu Qinghuan pulled him into the space.

He held her to the bath pool, Xu Qinghuan’s face buried in his shoulder.

Jiang Xingye held her, each step seed difficult.

This path was originally short, across the square, through the grand hall, past a courtyard, over the dormitory, and then the bath pool, but this path took a long ti to walk.

Jiang Xingye stood at the dormitory door, leaned against the fra, refusing to go further. He cupped Xu Qinghuan’s head with one hand, pressing his lips hard.

The intertwined sounds hit each other’s eardrums and hearts. Xu Qinghuan seed to hear the sound of dragon roars, wrapped in endless yearning, fiercely crashing toward her heart.

"Huanhuan, you’d kill , you’re taking my life, do you know?" Jiang Xingye’s hand supported her nape, watching her cry before him.

He could never bear to harm her, loving her too much, caring too deeply. That’s why he was so insecure.

But after marriage, things changed, he wanted her to cry before him every night.

The bath pool wall was ward by the thermal spirit water, Xu Qinghuan collapsed onto it, unable to support herself.

Jiang Xingye knelt before her, rising slowly from the water, holding her in his arms.

The outer corner of her eye still glistened with red, like the first flower of spring, alluring and charming, blooming for him.

With Xu Qinghuan asleep, Jiang Xingye couldn’t leave.

He finished turning over a dicinal field, looked through the lifted window, and saw Xu Qinghuan still sweetly asleep in the bedding.

She lay sideways, exposing a fragrant shoulder, white and smooth like snow, dotted with blooming red plum blossoms. Jiang Xingye took one look and felt his soul drift away.

He put down the farm tools, washed his hands, and changed into new clothes before entering the dormitory.

Xu Qinghuan slowly opened her eyes, Jiang Xingye supported her back with one hand, offering tea to her lips with the other, "Drink so."

Xu Qinghuan drank two sips, and only then did her discomforted throat feel better.

Outside in the courtyard, soone was shouting, Xu Qinghuan listened, "Dong Liangcheng is here, probably calling you for sothing."

She dressed, but the red marks on her clavicle couldn’t be covered.

Xu Qinghuan glared at him fiercely.

Yet her eyes and brows were tinged with spring colors, making the glare seem enchanting.

Jiang Xingye felt a stir in his heart. He held Xu Qinghuan and kissed for a while, "I’ll be more careful next ti."

"You always say you’ll be careful next ti, but you never are, you’re a liar." Xu Qinghuan pinched the flesh at his waist, but it was all muscle, impossible to grasp.

Jiang Xingye guided her hand lower, "Here, pinch here."

Xu Qinghuan kicked at him furiously, "Jiang Xingye, can you be any more uncouth?"

"I only act like this with you." Jiang Xingye carried her outside, "Your man only loves you!"

He finally said with confidence those three words, "Your man."

With autumn harvest halfway done, Dong Liangcheng ca to discuss the remaining matters with Jiang Xingye.

Xu Qinghuan sat in the room, eating breakfast.

Jiang Xingye had cooked porridge in the space that morning, heated yesterday’s stead buns, served with two small dishes; she found it hard to swallow.

Her appetite wasn’t good.

Maybe it was because the commotion was too much.

Jiang Xingye entered; she had fallen asleep on the bed.

The unfinished food was set aside; she had taken only two bites of the bun and drank half the bowl of porridge, but ate more of the side dishes.

Jiang Xingye adjusted her position, pulling the covers over her.

In the threshing yard, after settling her family’s childbirth, Zhou Guizhi ca to work, overhearing Qiu Linghua gossiping that her daughter-in-law had given birth to another girl, saying Jiang Xingbing couldn’t sire sons, so she rushed up and kicked at the stool Qiu Linghua sat on.

"What gossip are you spouting? You have sons and daughters-in-law, so what did they produce? Huh? I want to see if Kong the educated youth can produce a golden treasure for your family of beggars."

"Just talking, your Jinhua has birthed three daughters already, aren’t you worried?" Qiu Linghua now didn’t dare confront Zhou Guizhi directly.

"It’s none of your business. I love granddaughters, my big treasure, second treasure, and third treasure will be no worse than sons in the future."

"No matter how good, they’ll marry off eventually, won’t they?" Qiu Linghua said.

"So what if they marry? They won’t be my granddaughters anymore?" Zhou Guizhi replied, "How I raise boys is how I raise my granddaughters. If I hear you all gossip again, I won’t be kind."

Nearby, Lu Mingqiu was working too, Hu E asked her, "Lu Educated Youth, do you have a partner in the city?"

Lu Mingqiu shook her head, Hu E’s eyes lit up, "No? If not, could Auntie introduce soone to you?"

Lu Mingqiu saw Lu Nianying listening with perked ears, she smiled, "No need, Auntie, I don’t want to marry."

"Why not marry? n co of age to marry, won to wed. If you don’t marry now, good ones will be taken later." Hu E gave examples,

"Look at Xu Educated Youth, she ca a year earlier than you, and imdiately set her sights on Jiang Xiaowu. He’s the finest young man in this area, she got him, didn’t have to work before marriage, and even after, never has to leave ho, pampered like a delicate flower."
