Since he had already figured out so things, he decided not to waste any more ti on Han Xi.

After hanging up the phone, Guo Kun drove back to his own ho.

During this ti, Han Xi called several more tis, but Guo Kun hung up on her every ti.

Inside the police station, Han Xi held her phone, her face ashen.

She had pleaded with the staff for a long ti, finally managing to get her phone back to make this call for help to Guo Kun.

She originally thought Guo Kun would save her because, after all, she was carrying his child, and he had been desperate for a child.

But now, Guo Kun wasn’t answering her calls.

Even though she spoke badly of Xia Mian, spreading rumors and slandering her, these were not cris. At most, she would be lectured and then released.

However, even though she didn’t need to bear any legal responsibility, Guo Kun still chose to abandon her.

A female officer in the hall saw Han Xi looking defeated and kindly poured her a glass of water, saying, "We have said everything we need to. Now, in a law-abiding society, everyone has to be responsible for what they say. You spread rumors and slandered others, causing them trouble and loss, so you need to take responsibility for that."

Han Xi said nothing, just staring at the glass of water on the table, her brows furrowed tightly.

"Now, Miss Xia wants to pursue the loss you’ve caused her. Once you compensate her for her losses, we can let you go," the kind-hearted female officer said, feeling sowhat sympathetic that Han Xi was facing a lawsuit because of what she said.

Han Xi tightly gripped her phone.

"What does she want to compensate for her loss?" Han Xi’s voice was slightly hoarse.

Xia Mian’s identity and status in Beijing were incredibly noble.

What did Han Xi have? How could she compensate Xia Mian?

"The other party is asking you to compensate for economic loss, damage to reputation, and emotional distress... a total of three billion." The female officer’s mouth opened slightly, her gaze towards Han Xi becoming more complicated.

Han Xi had heard the rumors she spread before.

Though excessive, the idea that they could cause Xia Mian such a significant loss seed hard to believe.

Even though she thought this, the female officer dared not say more.

After all, the matter involved both the Lu Family and the Song Family.

These two families’ business empires spanned the globe. If Xia Mian insisted Han Xi’s rumors caused such significant losses to their businesses, it would be impossible to verify.

"Three billion..." Han Xi’s lips moved, her face pale, "Why doesn’t she just rob !"

The female officer blinked, thinking to herself that she practically was...

But she could only say this to herself, not out loud.

"Miss Xia’s terms are already on the table. If you can et them, you can leave now," the female officer looked at Han Xi, "If you can’t et her terms, then you’ll have to stay here a while longer."

Han Xi let out a bitter laugh. She wished she could smack three billion in Xia Mian’s face.

Unfortunately, Guo Kun refused to answer her calls, seemingly intent on cutting all ties with her.

So she could only stay here a while longer.

Han Xi was brought into the holding room.

In the confined space, she was the only person present.

The holding room was fairly clean, with a bed inside.

Han Xi sat on the bed, her gaze sowhat vacant.

The fluorescent light on the ceiling emitted a stark white glow that bathed the bare walls, making the room’s silence feel slightly eerie.

In this bizarre atmosphere, she seed to see sothing flicker in the corner of the room.

Her body involuntarily shivered.

She once claid Xia Mian was not human.

She wasn’t just speaking nonsense!

She had encountered such people before, so she knew that so people had long transcended ordinary humanity.

In her impression, Dai Ying was powerful enough, but when faced against Xia Mian, she silently vanished without a trace.

Han Xi never saw Dai Ying again, but Xia Mian continued to live well; she could completely imagine what Dai Ying’s end was.

"Who... Who’s there!?" Han Xi called out timidly.

The black smoke in the corner grew denser.

A skeleton ford from black mist slowly drifted to the corner where the surveillance was, blocking it.

At the sa ti, an ancient voice erged from the black mist, "Care for a deal?"

Han Xi stood there, stunned, forgetting to scream in that mont.

This mass of black mist could talk?!

"Are you really willing to be wronged like this?" The voice from the black mist coaxed, "You did nothing wrong; she isn’t human, to begin with."

Han Xi’s gaze was uncertain as she curled up in the bed’s corner, "What are you?"

"Who I am isn’t important; what’s important is that we have a common enemy." The voice from the black mist was hoarse, as if sothing had corrupted it.

Han Xi squinted her eyes tightly, "What kind of deal are you proposing?"

"Your body for , and I’ll help you get revenge." The voice in the black mist responded, as if from another world.

Han Xi was instantly alert, "In your dreams!"

The voice from the black mist seed unhurried, "Don’t rush to refuse."

"Your body is mine, but your soul remains, and you will also have my powers. If you agree, it’s a win-win," the black mist spoke slowly, "You don’t really think she will just let this go, do you?"

Slandering Xia Mian, and now she’s getting her ’educated’?

Just giving her a mild lesson like that?

Han Xi’s heart wavered.

The voice had a point; if she was rely there to be ’educated,’ it wouldn’t cost her much.

"That’s none of your business!" Han Xi remained vigilant, not falling for the enticents.

No matter what, handing over control of her body to an unknown entity might leave her not knowing how she might end up dead!

"You’ll die eventually." The voice from the black mist carried a sly tone.

Han Xi wrapped her arms around herself, retreating slowly as the black mist closed in, "Everyone dies eventually!"

At this critical mont, Han Xi’s response was surprisingly sharp.

"I an, you will die within a day or two," the black mist added gleefully, "If you agree to give control of your body now, I can help you escape..."

Han Xi’s eyes narrowed, not believing a word spoken by the other.

She had encountered strange events before; these unknown entities were skilled at bewitching people’s minds.

The best strategy for dealing with such things was not to believe a single word!

"Since you won’t negotiate nicely, I can only resort to force," the black mist surged, almost enveloping Han Xi within its confines!

Han Xi was terrified, only then registering to scream.

Unfortunately, her voice seed to be isolated by sothing, unable to reach the outside world.
