Klautz's eyes squinted.

*sniff* *sniff*

His feet moved all on their own as if by reflex as it took him towards the direction of the fresh sll.

His sense of sll wasn't any different from anyone at his level, but being acquainted with this crimson fluid for so long in his life, he could feel it with every cell on his body.

Before Klautz knew it, he was moving towards the partition that he had laid out. The white cloth was what blocked his view.

Verona tilted her head to the side. Clueless about what was happening she got down too as she got a towel to cover herself up.

She could only follow behind Klautz out of curiosity.

"It's close," Klautz whispered.

Klautz lifted the curtain as what he feared was proven right.

The woman laid on her bed probably already dead with her throat rcilessly slit apart. She was the sa roommate that was mumbling an hour ago complaining about the noises.

"Impossible," Klautz whispered as his eyes opened out wide in shock.

Klautz wasn't as worried about the fact that a person had died just now. Klautz was never moved by any death. In hell, death was more of a common scenario than anything. One rarely cares about the death of a stranger.

But even so, like every other species, the death of a kin does affect the hells folk. It was just that after years of ninja work, Klautz had got nulled to that feeling of nausea.

That is why Klautz was hardly shocked because of the death. Rather Klautz was more concerned about the fact that the murder happened in his vicinity without his knowledge.

"I never perceived anything…," he whispered.

No matter how much Klautz gets into the mood with his woman, he never keeps his guard down. He was as much on alert while making love with Verona as much as he was at any other ti of the day. Even in his sleep, he slept in a half alert state.

Then how could soone be murdered in his vicinity without him noticing it? That was the biggest anomaly on the matter.

"The blood is fresh," Klautz whispered.

The murder had transpired just a mont ago. The blood was fresh indicating the sa.

But Klautz had felt no signs of anyone barging inside the room let alone slit the woman's neck. It was only until when too much blood had oozed out of the body for it to hide its scent that Klautz caught onto the change.

Klautz's eyes turned towards the open window. The white curtains fluttered in the nightly breeze as the moon's glory shone on them.

'Whoever the person is, he must have co in from the window…' he thought but he shook his head. 'But even that doesn't make any sense. I never felt any presence.'

Klautz was sensitive to killing intent. How could the event catch out of his perception? Klautz could only frown over the entire matter.

*Thud*

That is when Klautz heard a thud. His ears twitched as they had beco sensitive to everything sound around him.

Klautz turned around as the scene of a speechless lady was painted in front of him. She was half naked with just a towel around her breasts and her entire face was disheveled thanks to their earlier deeds.

As soon as Verona saw the dead body she had fallen to her knees. Klautz was nulled to death, but Verona wasn't. It brought back traumatizing mories for her.

"How? When?" Verona could neither find words nor answers.

There was a sense of emptiness in her eyes.

*Sigh*

A sigh left Klautz's mouth. He wanted to make the night the most morable experience for Verona. But it turned out into a traumatizing one instead.

That is why Klautz always remains on his guard in these lands. Nothing here was going to go according to his plan. There were variables everywhere. His mission for the night had failed.

The cause for Verona's shock was also a genuine one. After so many days of grinding, the newbies had co to believe in their safety in that building. There were guards much stronger than themselves, always on guard for protecting them. How could they not be at ease?

No matter what happens during the grinding process, they were at least assured of one thing… That no beast can attack them during the night.

But little did they consider… that humans can be scarier than beasts.

Klautz walked closer to the dead body. Technically he should be moving away from the murder scene and report to the authorities.

'But a chance like this to scan for clues won't co by again.'

The death of a newbie in such a way wasn't a laughing matter. Depending on how badly it's managed it could throw the whole hell into Chaos.

'But sothing like that didn't happen in my last life. Hopefully in this life too, nothing would change.'

Gozoto was a competent fellow. He wouldn't have been chosen for this job otherwise. Klautz believes that he will do what needs to be done.

Not to ntion the presence of Ronald and Akihiko as well.

"He could be in this too. But I don't see a way in which he will profit from this."

The girl that had died didn't have anything distinctive about her. Compared to Verona she looked rather flat. She didn't seem to be soone strong either though that was just a hunch on Klautz part.

"The injuries on her body prove that hunch," As Klautz moved around he noticed marks of injuries left on her body.

Klautz knew the mark and he knew it was caused by beasts in the newbie drill.

"She didn't seem like soone who was having an easy ti with the beasts."

This was quite in contrast with Klautz's group who were just playing around with the beasts of the newbie drill.
