*knock* *Knock*

There was a knock on the door but there was no one there to respond.

*Swish*

The door creaked open as Verona peeked inside. Half of her face was hidden behind it as she wanted to take just a peek. Only her blue eyes and blonde hair was visible. But there was no one in the room to peek at. There was a deathly silence.

*Sigh*

"He is still not here," Verona whispered as she pulled away from her hiding.

What had caused her to act like a child? Of course, it was Klautz...

She had been waiting for Klautz ever since. She couldn't keep her heart at ease knowing that tonight was the night Klautz had promised to take her as his. Her heart was left in turmoil ever since morning. She could barely focus on her grind.

When it all began, she at least had the luxury of keeping a watch on him... That was until klautz decided to branch off to God knows where. Having him closer made her heart beat fast but at least she wasn't as torn as she was now.

'Is he not gonna co today?'

Verona couldn't lie to her heart anymore. She had expectations. And Klautz was doing a good job making her wait. She wanted to be hugged and embraced throwing away all of the doubts that had been occupying her mind.

*Tap* *tap*

The 'promise' that they shared wasn't the only problem that troubled her. Whether Klautz would keep it or not wasn't the only problem she had.

'Klautz and I shouldn't really be together in the first place,' Verona thought.

The age difference made her question her conscience. The possibility of Klautz just using her to fulfill his lust tore apart her heart.

She wanted to know. After tasing her once and fulfilling his desires, would Klautz still be with her?

'I don't have that glow that young girls have..'

Why would Klautz be with her? When he could easily bed any young woman. The answer to that question was obvious. It was sothing she already knew but it was hard for her to accept it.

Verona walked closer to Klautz's bed. There were two in the room. Klautz's one was in a big ss, the sheets as if had curled up at the center. While the other one was still organized and unused.

Verona bent low and straightened the bedsheets making them look a bit more orderly. Her fingers brushed against the cloth but stopped at a weird realization. She knew of this before but witnessing it with her own eyes, she was at a loss for words.

.Verona frowned.

"He didn't even change his bedsheets," she complained.

Verona held onto her hips as she sighed. Why won't she? The bed had mories of Klautz's ravenous nights. It was badly stained. And yet he continued to do the deed without caring about anything!

Supplies like clothes and stuff like these were easily available at the market set up for the newbie drill. But alas, Klautz never bought any. All of his money was reserved for potions!

'He should take care of himself more..'

Verona pouted. The thought of Klautz sleeping with other won caused butterflies in her stomach but she ignored that feeling for the ti being.

She pulled out the sheet off the bed and tossed it to the side. Taking out a white replacent sheet from her own inventory bought from her own money gained from Shizu, she laid it out on the bed making it look a bit more organized.

"Klautz!" she couldn't help but snort her nostrils.

She couldn't believe what he was making a woman like her do! Verona hadn't realized that she was doing it of her own discretion...

As she cleaned his ss, She couldn't help but have dirty thoughts in her mind causing her to be flushed. Will the bed be reduced to such a state when they do the stuff? She thought.

Her imaginations ran wild. She imagined getting plowed by Klautz as he stared deep into her eyes. But she was quick to brush the thought aside as her cheeks reddened like a ripe tomato.

She couldn't help but hide her face covering it with her palms feeling as if she had been caught red-handed. She shook her head fervently in embarrassnt.

She wasn't the type to usually have any dirty thoughts at all. There was a hell and heaven difference between her and girls like Selena. But this ti, she couldn't help it. Her fingers had brushed against the hardened sheets and she knew what it was. And she knew it belonged to Klautz.

'This is bad, I should go. I am having weird thoughts here..' Verona thought.

She had expectations and she didn't want to be heartbroken. Unlike her first relationship, she wanted things to work out this ti. She had mustered up the courage to give herself another chance. Now the rest was up to KLautz.

Verona ran away out of the room as she looked straight down at the floor with her head kept low not wanting to reveal her flushed cheeks to anyone.

"I am back," Klautz claid.

Finally being out of the wilderness he couldn't help but be at ease. His guard was never down but there was the essence in not being surrounded by hungry beasts all the ti.

That didn't an that humans were any less frightening than the monsters. But Klautz didn't have any enemies for now.

But this was but the peace before the storm. Klautz was bound to have enemies in the future.

As usual, he went to the gold keeper first to pick up his gold. He could only be grateful to Shizu for setting things up for him.

The day had taken a toll on him, but he had wrung out the worth of his two stamina potions.
