Alex shivered inwardly, unsure of what he had stepped into. What had he gotten himself into? And what did this an for Raymond’s feelings toward his daughter?
One thing Alex didn’t know was Raymond’s preference. He was known to be drawn to won with curves and assets—but Candy? She had none. Flat everywhere, yet her beauty was undeniable.
Candy squeezed her fists tightly, fury and anger burning in her chest. How dare this man co into their ho and threaten her father’s life?
"Answer !" Raymond shouted, his calm self already slipping.
Dickson remained silent, waiting for action.
"Boss..." Alex began, but Candy cut him off without hesitation.
"Father, I can’t be with this rude man," she said, her gaze locked on Raymond as he chewed his gum with those cold, silver eyes. "He’s not my type, and I will never leave you for his stupid clan. If he wants to shoot us, let him try."
Alex’s eyes widened as he stared at his daughter, stunned by her boldness.
"Candy..." he muttered, almost in disbelief.
Raymond’s eyes glead with a wicked amusent at her words.
"Although she’s small, she’ll make a fine al for your sharks," Dickson muttered, knowing fully well that Candy had just signed her own death warrant. Yet, even he was puzzled by Raymond’s restraint.
Candy, undeterred, hurled another verbal bomb. "Sir... you aren’t my type. Don’t think I’d be impressed by your looks, you’re not handso."
That one hit Raymond where it hurt. Won usually fawned over him, calling him the most handso man on the planet. And just now... this little girl, barely in the sa league with them, dared call him ugly_All because of Alexander.
"You’re the ugliest man I’ve ever seen, sir," Candy added, her voice steady, her eyes daring him to react.
Raymond lost control. "Shut up!" His voice was thunderous as he stood, looming over her. The gum fell silent in his mouth. He was done playing.
Candy t his gaze without blinking, even as her heart skipped a beat. Fear tried to creep in, but she refused to show it.
Raymond slid one hand into his pants pocket and extended the other toward Dickson. Instantly, Dickson placed a gun into his hand. The tension in the room tightened to a breaking point.
Every second felt like an eternity, and Candy’s defiance had just ignited a storm.
