Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Xiang Ying, Co Out Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Xiang Ying, Co Out Upon hearing this, Xiang Ying’s brows slightly furrowed.

It could be water pollution, causing stomach ailnts.

These prisoners all drank water from the river, but previously, there were so many corpses floating in that river.

It would be strange if they didn’t get sick.

“I’ve repeatedly advised you that so of these people are ill, their food cannot be eaten from the sa bowl, and water cannot be shared from the sa cup, but you wouldn’t listen.”

Skinny Monkey smiled: “Sister-in-law, these people are not that fragile.”

“When we followed the great army in battle, so people even drank water that had been soaked with horse dung. Isn’t that right, Tu Kang?”

Scar Face, who had been burying his head in the bucket, suddenly stood up and rolled up his sleeves: “I’m going to fight you!”

Skinny Monkey ran off laughing, and Scar Face chased after him, and they scuffled back and forth several tis.

But Xiang Ying held onto her concerns.

She had Tao Xue notify her brother and the Seventh Princess.

“Do not drink water provided by the team leader. If you want to drink water, co to my room every day, we will boil it before drinking.”

She took purified water from her space, safer than river water.

Indeed, as Xiang Ying predicted, by evening, more and more prisoners were suffering from diarrhea and high fever.

During the day, there were only five or six people, but by night, it had escalated to as many as fourteen.

When Skinny Monkey passed by Xiang Ying again, he was no longer in a joking and playful mood.

“The Military Doctor said it might be malaria.”

“It doesn’t look like malaria,” Xiang Ying frowned, “If it were malaria, it wouldn’t be accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea, and the rate of infection being so fast indicates the disease has already been lying in wait.”

She thought for a mont and said, “Let go see the patients.”

Having been through the apocalypse, Xiang Ying would never allow herself to live surrounded by unidentified diseases.

This was a threat to her.

She had to figure out what was going on to ease her mind.

However, upon hearing her request, Skinny Monkey shook his head over and over.

“Absolutely not, if Jie Jianjun finds out, would I still be alive?”

“We’ll go in secret.”

“That’s even less possible!” Skinny Monkey refused outright, “Sister-in-law, you have to forgive , you didn’t see how badly those prisoners are suffering. Afraid of escalating the situation, the Military Supervisor has locked them in the hold, with special guards monitoring them, and they can’t co out for now.”

Xiang Ying was puzzled: “Are all the sick people the ones who were previously living in the hold?”

“Yes,” Skinny Monkey recalled sothing, “Oh right, that Old Mrs. Liu who likes to call Tu Kang ‘Doudou’ also contracted this illness.”

At this mont.

The moonlight flitted over the shimring river surface, casting a faint, cold blue reflection, which glowed against the light of the torches on the deck.

Scar Face, carrying a bowl of dicine, arrived at the entrance of the hold.

The guarding soldier upon seeing him imdiately saluted, and Scar Face asked, “How is Liu Taipin doing?”

The soldier honestly replied: “They are all not doing well, among these people, she is the worst.”

Scar Face, with his dark, furrowed brow, thought for a mont: “Then let see her.”

Before the soldier could respond, a weak voice ca from inside the hold belonging to Liu Taipin.

“Doudou, don’t co in, they are all sick, and mother is sick too.” Her voice was intermittent, gasping for breath after speaking each sentence.

Scar Face also heard the occasional sound of vomiting from others in the cabin.

One could imagine that the conditions inside were certainly not optimistic.

Scar Face patted the door: “I’ve co to bring you dicine!”

Before Liu Taipin could speak, soone heard the words “bring dicine” and rushed to the door.

Only to hear Liu Taipin scream miserably, as if she had been violently pushed away.

The people inside scratched and clawed at the door like mad cats: “Open the door! Hurry, give the dicine, to !”

Noise and chaos erupted, and even several people started pushing and shoving each other over the dicine at the door.

Liu Taipin’s pained screams kept coming through.

Scar Face, in a panic, slapped the door: “Quiet down, everyone be quiet!”

The soldiers also roared, “What’s all the noise about? Keep it up, and no one gets dicine!”

Just then, Jie Chen’s voice ca from the side: “What’s happening?”

Scar face hurriedly spoke, “Jie Jianjun, the patients inside have gone mad, and I want to go in to take a look!”

Liu Taipin had no children and no one to rely on.

She might not even be able to scrounge a single bite to eat inside.

Jie Chen furrowed his brows, his eyes serious as he looked at him, “At this ti, if you go in, you might also get infected. Without my orders, no one is allowed to rush in.”

“Yes…” Scar face lowered his head.

After a while, the Military Doctor arrived with two assistants.

The three Military Supervisors had just discussed it and decided to let the Military Doctor go in first to see what the situation was.

This was the only way to determine whether these people should be abandoned or not.

The Military Doctor and his assistants were fully protected; the two soldier assistants with him also wore veils over their faces.

Soon, a few more soldiers would accompany them inside to intimidate the sick prisoners.

Just as the Military Doctor and his assistants were about to pass Jie Chen, he suddenly voiced out, “Wait.”

The Military Doctor turned to him: “Does Jie Jianjun have any further instructions?”

Jie Chen raised his dark, cold sword-like brows, looking at one of the two soldier assistants behind the Military Doctor.

The two had their heads lowered, but the one on the left, the soldier’s exposed forehead, had delicate and fair skin.

Jie Chen couldn’t help but let out an exasperated chuckle.

“Co out.”

After he spoke, both the Military Doctor and scar face looked at each other in confusion.

Co out? Who?

While everyone was silent, Jie Chen spoke again with a cold voice, “Xiang Ying, don’t make say it twice.”

The “soldier” with the fair skin could only stand out.

Taking off the hat, shoulder-length beautiful hair cascaded down.

Removing the veil, a handso and striking face was revealed.

It was none other than Xiang Ying.

The Military Doctor was shocked, “My little apprentice, what happened to him? You killed him!?”

As he spoke, his voice trembled.

“Why would I kill him? I just knocked him out, stripped him, and threw him into the granary,” Xiang Ying muttered, her phoenix eyes full of defiance.

If Jie Chen hadn’t co, she would have been able to go inside smoothly.

Jie Chen’s face was as cold as ice: “What are you trying to sneak in there for? Think you haven’t caused enough trouble already?”

Xiang Ying looked up, “I don’t like the way you say that. When have I not helped? Besides, you guys might not know how to treat these infectious diseases. I won’t be at ease until I see it for myself.”

The Military Doctor pointed at her, “We can’t treat it? And you can?”

Xiang Ying’s phoenix eyes swept toward him fiercely, prompting the Military Doctor to quickly retract his hand, afraid of it being twisted off.

“Let’s have a look and we’ll know,” Xiang Ying insisted resolutely.

The others didn’t dare to decide, instead looking to Jie Chen for his reaction.

Before Jie Chen could refuse her, Xiang Ying said indifferently, “Jie Chen, you know my personality. If you don’t let see now, I will keep thinking about it.”

“There will co a ti when you can’t stop . It’s better to let have a look while you’re watching over to see what’s really going on.”

Upon hearing this, sothing in Jie Chen’s throat bobbed, and after a mont, he inhaled deeply, “Put on the veil. I’ll let you in, but let’s be clear, if you get sick too, you’ll be shut in here just the sa.”

Xiang Ying swiftly put on her hat and veil, “Don’t worry, I won’t get infected even if the Military Doctor does.”

The Military Doctor stomped with irritation, “Can’t you say anything nice?”

He was not keen on coming in the first place.

Scar face opened the door, and as expected, the people inside tried to rush out.

The soldiers imdiately drew their swords, and the prisoners beca fearful once again.

Xiang Ying stood by the door, not yet entering, when she slled a foul stench.

When she finally saw the situation inside, her phoenix eyes widened in surprise.
