Chapter 228: Chapter 228 If He Falls Ill, Burn Him Alive

Xiang Ying was not idle either.

She was fiddling with the dical equipnt in her space.

Although the current camp is far from those contagion zones,

“A gentleman does not stand under a dangerous wall,” the mysterious epidemic was prowling nearby, and Xiang Ying had to be prepared at all tis.

In case the disease spread among them, she could find a counterasure right away.

Only to see Xiang Ying’s slender fingers entering codes on the dical-layer equipnt back and forth.

The upgraded equipnt now had many more functions, capable not only of analyzing disease sequences but also of devising dications and corresponding treatnts after breaking them down.

In short, Xiang Ying just needs to provide a sample of the pathogen, even just a bit of cells, into the machine.

It will then automatically research, dissect the sequence, and ultimately provide the correct treatnt thod.

Originally, these functions were designed to target diseases mutated during the apocalypse, but now Xiang Ying was using them to combat ancient epidemics, which was sowhat overqualified.

Now she had the equipnt, but she lacked sick patients.

She made use of the Invisibility Skill from her space after it got dark and everyone was asleep.

Forty minutes were enough for her to make a round trip.

Rembering the route they took during the day, Xiang Ying ran through the empty and cold streets, directly heading to the area of the contagion zone.

Upon her arrival, she saw a sowhat familiar figure also entering the place.

Xiang Ying frowned slightly and stared intently, recognizing the figure as the guard of the Sixth Prince.

What was he doing here?

The guard quickly walked to a courtyard, and a guard standing outside looked around before handing over a bundle wrapped in cloth to him right in front of Xiang Ying.

The man carefully received it, whispering, “When the Sixth Prince returns to the capital, I will promote you. This matter must not be revealed to others, or it will bring unwarranted disasters.”

The guard nodded repeatedly, “I understand, Your Highness, rest assured.”

Xiang Ying couldn’t care about other things and hurriedly followed the guard.

She saw him mount a horse, galloping away swiftly.

Fearing she couldn’t keep up, Xiang Ying directly released a drone, throwing a bunch of pepper powder in front of the horse on the route taken by the guard.

The horse inhaled the irritating odor and imdiately reared and neighed, and the guard on its back was thrown off before he could react.

Taking advantage of his inability to see her, Xiang Ying slapped the horse’s rear, watching as the animal galloped forward, vanishing at the end of the road.

The guard picked himself up from the ground, frustrated that he couldn’t catch his mount, cursing his bad luck.

“I must hurry and return this item to the Sixth Prince.” He picked up the bundle from the ground, yet dared not touch it with his entire palm, pinching it instead with his fingertips.

From this, Xiang Ying deduced that the contents of the package were likely related to the epidemic.

Was the despicable Sixth Prince planning to bring sothing infected into the camp?

One didn’t need to think too hard to guess his purpose—it must be aid at Jie Chen again!

Of course, Xiang Ying could not let the guard bring that item back.

She observed the bundle in the guard’s hand, which was simply made of plain blue cloth.

Xiang Ying cut out a similar piece of cloth from her space and wrapped two scraps dyed with vermillion inside.

She followed him and just as the guard passed by a pond, Xiang Ying kicked him into it.

The guard exclaid in shock and fell straight into the water, while the bundle landed on the shore.

Xiang Ying, seeing this, directly took it and put it into her space, and placed the bundle she had prepared in its original spot.

She stood by with her arms folded, watching as the guard cried out in alarm, eventually clambering ashore, drenched and shivering in the cold snowy wind.

The guard looked around and, finding the bundle still there, picked it up with a relieved expression and hurriedly sped towards the main camp.

Xiang Ying followed him from behind, watching as he sneaked back to the campsite and then entered the Sixth Prince’s room.

There were two rows of houses, a total of twelve rooms; Jie Chen had specifically allocated one to the Sixth Prince.

Jie Chen probably did not expect that the Sixth Prince would be so ruthless as to risk his own safety by introducing the epidemic into the main camp.

“Your Highness, this humble one has brought back the item you requested.”

The mont he entered, the Sixth Prince stepped out from behind the screen.

Xiang Qianqian, holding her clothing tightly, followed beside him, asking with uncertainty, “Your Highness, what is this…?”

The Sixth Prince coldly told the guard, “Open it and look.”

In front of them, the guard unpacked the bundle, revealing the fabric dyed with vermillion by Xiang Ying, emanating an eerie red.

Before they could take a closer look, the Sixth Prince waved his hand and covered his nose and mouth, “I clearly instructed them to bring back a piece of Bloodstained Clothes, yet they only brought back a few pieces of fabric?”

Hearing this, Xiang Qianqian imdiately took two steps back in horror.

The Sixth Prince had actually brought back the clothes of soone infected with the epidemic!

While tying up the bundle, the guard said, “The guards did not dare to truly get close to those who are sick, and it is said that there is no cure for this disease.”

The Sixth Prince, with his hands behind his back, had a dark and swirling gaze, “That’s precisely what I want, sothing incurable. Go as I have instructed before, and hide it among Jie Chen’s clothes that are usually washed clean.”

“Yes,” the guard carried the bundle and hastily departed.

Xiang Ying, invisible, stood beside them and heard everything.

She watched the Sixth Prince grind his teeth in anger.

This bastard was truly intolerable.

Xiang Qianqian looked at the Sixth Prince, “Your Highness, are you trying to make Jie Chen fall ill?”

The Sixth Prince turned back, his icy gaze sweeping over, a fierce light suddenly erging.

“What, you want to defend him?”

“Your Highness misunderstands Qianqian’s aning,” Xiang Qianqian quickly waved her hands and explained, “I’m afraid that my elder sister might interfere again, and Your Highness’s plan might fail.”

Both of them did not know that Xiang Ying was standing right beside them, watching with her arms folded.

She slightly raised her brows, light gleaming in her Phoenix Eyes.

It had to be said, Xiang Qianqian did understand her well enough to know that she would not allow them to harm Jie Chen.

She had already “interfered” just now, by switching the bundle containing the epidemic; she wondered what they could do now.

The Sixth Prince’s eyes were dark and deep, obviously agreeing with Xiang Qianqian’s words.

“Even doctors cannot cure sothing like the epidemic. Even if Xiang Ying has imnse capabilities, can she solve it?”

“Your Highness, my elder sister is very mysterious, you must not underestimate her. She was even able to cure the plague on the ship; I’m afraid this disease may be no challenge for her.”

Xiang Qianqian actively suggested, “I think it’s best if Your Highness prepares a backup plan, just in case Jie Chen contracts the disease but doesn’t die. With the backup, we can still take his life!”

The Sixth Prince finally showed so interest.

“What backup do you have in mind? Let’s hear it.”

Xiang Qianqian’s lips curled, “Your Highness should now order the Marching General, once soone outside the quarantine zone is found to be infected with the epidemic, they must be imdiately burned and buried to prevent the spread.”

“That way, once Jie Chen falls ill, Your Highness can use this directive to order the Marching General to burn him alive. No matter how capable my elder sister is, she would be powerless.”
